I just posted a detailed review over at Note 2 accessories section for Anker Ultra-Slim BT keyboard: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2241908
and also mentioned how well it works with Nexus 7, since I tested it with both Note 2 and Nexus 7. Plus I took a bunch of pictures to go along with my write-up. So just visit the link above for a review write up and enjoy the pictures below related to N7

Thats a very nice keyboard.
And a case too.
Too bad these keyboards only come in american variant, I'd prefer slovenian layout, but that is never going to happen.

Well, these are just physical keys mapped to your virtual keyboard, right? So if you are using different virtual keyboard on your Nexus 7 with Slovenian characters/layout, wouldn't that just be transparent? Unless if I misunderstood you?
Interesting keyboard. Nice photos.
I think the big question is how the keys map to the nexus, both the soft keyboard and special functions. The best thing for me is its size and ability to easily take with my nexus 7. I am concerned the keys might be cramped together. Interesting because its layout is based on Apple bluetooth keyboard.
Logitech has the K810 that is *compatible* with Android, Windows 8/RT, iPad (2,3,4,etc) but has a windows style layout. It has the advantage of back light but disadvantage of being an inch thick. It is much wider than Anker giving more room to spread out the keys, but much harder to carry on the road with the nexus 7.
The Anker is inexpensive on Amazon, and hopefully it is robust - e.g. keys work on touch, correct keys typed as pressed, etc.
Can people post more results and experiences after using it for a couple weeks?
Wow, it looks amazing, so thin! Very tempting
Can you connect via USB otg? Or is that mini slot only for charging?

You are correct, I can set slovene layout and it would work, but I think that Slovene layout on android isn't equal to Slovene layout on PC, special characters are mapped differently, like @ sign for example. Maybe something changed in 4.2.2, I need to check again.

This keyboard is really good. It is very small while still fully usable for typing. I think one reason is the key pad action, texture is excellent The aluminum back is great, too. Unobtrusive to carry with my Nexus 7 tablet.
Anker® Ultra-Slim Highly-Portable Bluetooth 3.0 Keyboard for iPad 2 / 3 / 4 - Silver Aluminum Body
But, there are some cons for Nexus 7.
1) The pairing is sometimes broken, sometimes after waiting 10 seconds pairing succeeds. I found two workarounds if broken. Unsure yet what sequence prompts either case.
a) Un-pair the keyboard from the bluetooth paired device list. Re-pair and type in the newly generated random number. Normal pairing prompts for a large number (7-8 digits) randomly generated by the keyboard, that you type on the keyboard.
b) On the Nexus 7 search for devices, the Nexus 7 prompts for a key (eg 0000,1234). If this happens type 1234 on the Nexus 7 *and* subsequently 1234 (+ enter) on the keyboard.
2) The special keys are for iPad 2/3/4 and *not* for Nexus 7. The Fn-Home,Fn-PgUp,Fn-PgDown,Fn-End do not work. The brightness controls do not work. The volume and music controls do not work. The lock key, home key, tab key does work. The search key only appears to work because at Android Home screen if you start typing the search screen automatically appears, you can type search key or any other letter.
I mention the special key issues on Nexus 7 because the Logitech K810 is fully compatible with the Nexus 7 and every special key works. And, the K810 is also compatible with iPad 2/3/4. The Logitech K810 is a full size keyboard the same size as Apple's bluetooth keyboard.
In summary the Anker keyboard is great for normal typing and extremely portable. But, if Anker releases an Android version with special key support it would be worth replacing the iPad version.
Very nice one!

Someone please confirm. Thanks.
That's a solid looking case, might have to get one too.

Pros:
-It's a stand
-It's a keyboard
-It charges your Tab
Cons:
-Not that portable
-Can't use with a case on
-People say it messes up your screen protector
-Pricey
There are a lot of decent Bluetooth keyboards that work great with the 10.1. Pair one of these with a stand case and you can still come out cheaper than the dock alone.
best solution is to either wait for the Samsung Bluetooth Keyboard case [$160] (if you'd like to use the Honeycomb dedicated keys)

or use another slim bluetooth keyboard like the Apple wireless Keyboard...

Does it always have to be docked or can it connect through bluetooth too?

yep i believe so since it uses bluetooth, the media keys might even work also since its designed for an Honeycomb device !
Saw a video on youtube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRRBm6l9wNk ) where it does something very annoying. The on screen keyboard keeps popping up, and he had to hit a key on the keyboard to get rid of it.
yea, it might have been fixed with the Touchwizz update ?!
who knows

sorry, I cant post it but u guys know what it is.
looks like a laptop like case, similar to what asus transformer has except prob BT connection instead of docking station to me. anyone knows about that case?
I have the keyboard dock (I also have the standard dock). I really like it and definitely feel it is worth buying.
Pros:
1. Nice keyboard + dedicated keys. Quality feel.
2. Nice relatively small dock.
3. Nice color, tablet looks nice in dock.
4. Creates a compact, space efficient, one piece workstation with tablet.
5. Allows you to use the tablet without having to hold it!!!!! Very convenient ... allowing you to do other things while you are using the tablet.
6. I have a Supertooth Bluetooth speaker system linked up with my Tab and the dock is a nice way to have the tablet available while it is streaming content the the Supertooth.
Cons:
1. Occasionally tablet needs to be rebooted because of problem. This is not frequent enough to be a problem for me.
2. I haven't checked it yet, but there are reports that if you are using an alternative tablet keyboard conflicts can cause more problems. I have temporarily stopped using Swype and my T9 custom software keyboards.
Summary, a very nice option to own.

did you just ignore post #3
its annoying for me since i own similar keyboard dock for my 7 tab.. and the on screen keyboard popping out all the time basically nullifies the advantages of the keyboard itself... and its quite heavy too.. i imagine its gonna be heavier on the 10.1 version.
anyway, aint worth it if you ask me.. and your stuck with the same layout too which is not optimized.. better buy bluetooth or just use the usb keyboard with the usb adapter.. much worthed i think.
Thanks for the reviews. I picked it up today. I haven't gotten to play on it much since I forgot to charge my tablet last night. I've still got to get my mouse to work with it. Doesn't seem to work with touchwiz.
I'm currently using a setup of Mac Bluetooth keyboard and the Akron tablet stand. I find this setup a lot better than the keyboard dock.

That thing is kind of tiny. I think it's better as more of a replacement keyboard/mouse combo for a home theater PC than a keyboard for a tablet. After all, you want a larger "real" keyboard to type faster than the onscreen keyboard. With little keypads you really can't fire off long emails/documents any better than you could with the onscreen, especially one with predictive text.
Backlit is nice, though. The Logitech products don't seem to have that.
I don't see much point. Won't be that much easier than the onscreen KB. I'd say full-size or just use the screen.

I'd be interested to see if it was any good, I plan on using an hdmi/charging cable combo with a dock to make a "HTTAB". A good mouse/keyboard combo that doesn't clutter up the place would be neato.
I will have to look into this more
I use this keyboard \ touchpad on my home theater. It's ok, but every once in a while its a bit rough to keep it connected. And, more importantly, it's much easier to use the screen vs this keyboard. I would suggest against it with the Galaxy Tab.
Pretty much looks like my phone keyboard
Are there any apps to use a phone as a bluetooth keyboard?
xnappo
[EDIT] I see Gmote does this - will check it out
[EDIT2] Eh - no Android server though. Looks like Blueputdroid will do it but I haven't had a need to root yet - now I do...
I use this with my HTPC as well...
Works fine as a keyboard but if I had to compare, I would say that the thumb keyboard app works better for me than this...
Suggestions?
I'm looking for a small BT keyboard about the size of the Apple BT or Xoom keyboard. I already have a MS Bluetooth Keyboard 6000 which works perfectly, except it's really too long to carry. I tried a Targus BT iPad keyboard, but the special function keys (back and so on) don't seem to work, plus it feels really cheap. FWIW, I only recently noticed that the Targus keyboard is the iPad specific model (AKB32US), and there's a generic model (AKB33US) that I should have tried out.
My criteria are that it's flat so it'll fit nicely in a bag, mapped as a normal PC keyboard so I don't have to create a keymap, full 6 rows with no weird function modes (~ and ` on the Logitech are fn+numkey?!), and preferrably a solid scissor switch design.
Anyone try the Iconia keyboard? It's more compact than the Xoom and Apple, but the layout looks sane. It's a little expensive though and I haven't seen many reviews.
I really want a BT & backlit keyboard. No numpad is fine. But I'd rather avoid the ones that fits in one hand - too small. It needs to be comfortable for hours of use. It seems like the best option is Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000 but that's too much.
You guys know of anything else that has both bluetooth & illumination?
Based on the size of it, I would be better off using the Thumb Keyboard for Android.

Hey, i have to android devices i would like to be able to connect a Bluetooth keyboard to it to type assays on the go with. I would like to keep it in a respectable price range while still having good connection, battery life, and build quality. In all $50 is my Max besides a full size keyboard...
Now my first choice was a full size keyboard...take a look:
http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/...0d0bf86d2fen02
see for that keyboard i know i can trust that company in good build quality and good battery life, but with an $80 Price tag, its a bit much for a keyboard.
Next are some mini's off of Amazon.ca...take a look:
1. $15
Mini Bluetooth Keyboard for iPad/iPhone 4.0 OS/Android/Window Mobile/Symbian smartphone: Amazon.ca: Electronics
2. $20
DURAGADGET Miniature Bluetooth Tablet Keyboard For Apple iPad 2, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 & ASUS EeePad Transformer: Amazon.ca: Electronics
3. $30
K10 Bluetooth Keyboard, ideal for iPad/iPad2, iPhone with Bluetooth, Playstation 3, mobile devices with Windows Mobile / Nokia Symbian OS: Amazon.ca: Electronics
4. $40
Hip Street HS-PBMINIKYBD Mini Bluetooth Keyboard for Playbook (Black): Amazon.ca: Electronics
5. $40
Mini Handheld Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard with Joystick Mouse Control 76 keys: Amazon.ca: Electronics
So those are some ( Top Five ) That i looked at and believe to be ok options, now if anyone has any experience with any of these , witch would you recommend...
Thanks
I have the keyboard with joystick control and love it. Typing is easy to do on it, once you set up the initial connected it takes just a flip of a switch to pair. The joystick is cool because sometimes you just feel like using a mouse, scrolling also becomes easier with the touch scrolling the keyboard has.
I have one of those mini bluetooth keyboards and its a PITA to use, the keys are very soft and not very easy to press.
I am also starting to look for a full size bluetooth keyboard, especially once ubuntu for android gets released as I will be using my phone as silent internet machine
sorry,, i even didn't use any bluetooth keyboard
I use this one

I picked up a used Microsoft 6000 from ebay for $25 (including shipping).
I first saw and felt the keys at my local Frys, and loved it. (Frys wanted $99)
Honestly though, the keyboard (and detatched 10-key) just sit in my backpack. I lug it around to work with me every day, and when I go out of town, but still haven't found a good excuse to actually use it.
Motorola made one when the Xoom/Atrix released. Can be had for under $40, nice size in between really tiny and full size.

What if we don't use the stock browser?
I'm looking to buy a small Bluetooth keyboard for my Thrive. Most of the Android-specific ones have hotkeys for popular apps like the browser, e-mail, etc.
One problem I found is that some of them will only work with the stock browser and stock e-mail app (or Gmail).
Does anyone know of a Bluetooth keyboard that has hotkeys that will launch the e-mail and browser of my choice? I use K9 for mail and Dolphin to browse, so stock-app hotkeys don't work for me.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

Which I now wish I had left in the store. Great keyboard when it's working. Pairing it was a nightmare. No one should have to Google for hours because normal pairing we're used to just doesn't work.
Using this on my Epic Touch 4G & some bright kid in my house managed to unpair it. Once pairfed it's not like it has to be redone every time so since I forgot all I had to do, I spent hours looking for this info again.
NOW....for the life of me I cannot get this keyboard to connect with my Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 which is supposed to have HID profile. It's paired but refuses to connect. Looking now at one of the minis.

In his thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2526070, BarryH nails the problem as a fight between the internal and external keyboards. His solution worked for me.
I don't think it matters which keyboard you have, as long as the internal keyboard is disabled while the Bluetooth is connected.

Im actually using a usb otg keyboard case for generic 10 inch tablets. Works well. I can set the tablet inside like a stand and plug up with my Logitech wireless mac touchpad and basically use the thing like a laptop. Much more stable than bluetooth even if you don't have that glitch (I dont) Use external keyboard helper pro to map special functions to the keys. Mine is set so I can control brightness, sound, and open several applications all from the keyboard. VERY NICE!!

I like the azio one better, because the dimensions look like they fit better with the note. (i.e., they are approximately the same width at about 9.5"). I have one of the Logitech keyboards that have the pop-up stand (http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/tablet-keyboard-ipad), and while the keyboard is much more sturdy and the build quality is excellent, it drives me up the wall that the keyboard is wider than the tablet, which makes it not as portable as I would like.
(For what it's worth, the Azio can be found on Amazon for about $32).
I use my Motorola Bluetooth Keyboard, which I bought for the Motorola Xoom a couple of years ago ... works like a charm ...

How is the case? Ive been eyeing this keyboard but not sure how I will like toating around a keyboard for classes and not having it built into the base. I keep going back to the Poetic removable keyboard case.
Its actually well built and the keyboard feels great. The case has a faux leather feel and the sliding stand is plastic. Decent viewing angle. It has some useful Android specific keys on there which help u navigate around. It's responsive, to the point where it doesnt lag behind while typing, but that point where u initially start typing, it takes 2 seconds to realize which keyboard ur typing with, internal or external

The Anker Ultra Slim BT has anchored. I thought it were smaller, bu it has a fullsize layout, notebook-like look and feel. Would work flawlessly, if the Samsung keyboard would not kick Swiftkey, once the Anker is detected. I later have to restore Swiftkey as default kb. On my old tablet (with CM11) Swiftkey runs the external kb.
Im using the HP BT Keyboard... cheap and works flawless.... never disconnects....
Hopefully ZAGG releases a keyboard like the one for the iPad Air. Since the iPad Air is almost same specs in size and thickness I decided to get the ZAGGkeys Cover Bluetooth Keyboard. Works great only con is, the short cut keys are specific for the Android OS and at times the keyboard disconnects or for some reason a letter gets stuck and you get a few letters.

I don't think I shall hold my breath waiting for Zagg though. The Note 2014 has not been a big seller and isn't well-supported by accessory manufacturers unfortunately.

Some advised to keep the Bluetooth visible all the time to avoid disconnects . Does that worked with you or you still have the disconnection problem ?

No problem. .. about the keyboard. I use it pretty much daily. About the only thing that really happens is that the Bluetooth disconnects from the Note 10.1 2014 Edition while I am typing. But this doesn't happen all the time. There is times when it does it 3 times when typing long emails or documents. I have gotton use to this, so most of the time I just quickly slide the on/off button on the keyboard and connects right up again and I continue where I left off. You can say that I have learned to live with this since I know this keyboard is meant for the iPad Air, fits nicely with the Note 10.1. I really like the ability to tilt the tablet to almost any angle. Still hoping that ZAGG or maybe Logitech will produce a keyboard like this. I haven't found a way to keep the keyboard from disconnecting.
