XDA Boot Animation - One (M7) Themes and Apps

After messing around with this for ages to get it resized and booted, I finally got there and figured I'd share it here for the rest of you to use if you wish.
I can't seem to get this in landscape but it still looks fine in portrait anyway
Download link - http://d-h.st/61Q
*NOTE* This isn't a flashable zip.
Instructions
*Download above file.
*Delete the current bootanimation (Can be found in system/customize/resource but may be different dependant on what ROM you're using)
*OPTIONAL - You can delete the boot up noise aswell if you wish.
*Put this in it's place.
*Reboot and it should be all good.
You may wanna do a backup first incase you don't like it and want to revert back.
EDIT - As the preview didn't want to show up, check out this video to see it in action.

I tried but I did not have the directory system/customize/resource but instead system/media/bootanimation/bootanimation.zip..
I renamed the file to bootanimation.zip and moved my old file out of the directory and replaced with new file. I still got my OPPO kernel splash but the bootani was blank. Dark screen and I could see my capacitive keys light up like it was going though the animation but there was nothing there.. just black on the screen :-/
Not sure what I did wrong

Try doing a backup and then deleting the current boot animation and try it again. It might be conflicting with the default animation.

I'll try at some point. I'm only stock rooted right now so my recovery is pretty limited but that'll change soon!

Bump.
Anyone other than me tried this yet?
Sent from my HTC One via XDA Premium

I installed it today. Looks pretty good, and very appropriate for the first custom boot animation to be installed on my phone.

Put this into landscape mode for you....
XDA Tv zip (rename to hTC_bootup_one or whatever your animation is named and replace the current file with this.
XDA Tv flashable (Flashable .zip for roms with hTC_bootup_one in /system/customize/resource)

Check your permissions are set to rw-r-r on the file. I also believe the bootanimation folder is unecessary as the bootanimation.zip should be in the /system/media folder.

I plan on making more of these. Nasa has a lot of neat videos up and they seem to be updating them frequently.
(Note: I've also re-sized this for the Transformer 101 and posted here)

can someone make it a zip
I've fixed the original animation so that it loops properly now. (Mental note for boot animation creators: Remember to delete the hidden thumbs.db file that windows creates or it stops your animation >.< )
Also I've added a new animation of the sunrise lighting up the earth. This one turned out quite nicely.

If there is sufficient interest I try to teach myself the art of flashable zips. I haven't yet made one, and it is quite easy to copy the files around using something like Root Explorer, but I agree flashable zips are easiest.

You can easily do it yourself. Just find a flashable bootanimation.zip from this site, open it, delete that bootanimation.zip, and place in this bootanimation.zip. It's not rocket science . If you want to change the message that is displayed when flashing, open updater.script with a text editor like notepad++ (\META-INF\com\google\android\updater.script).

[Request] Custom Boot animation for SGS3

I have a request/would like some help in taking my boot animation that I used on my EVO and bring it over to my new SGS3.
I'm not sure where the boot animation goes for the galaxy, as to which directory, I looked around with root explorer but cannot find the bootanimation.zip.
Does the galaxy have a different format for boot animations?
Is there a program I can convert my existing animation?
Here is an image of the final boot

bootanimation.zip is in the system/media folder
but only if you have a kernel that supports it.
My JellyBomb Domination theme has a kernel that supports it, as well as a custom boot animation.
as far as making it work, you need to decompile the bootanimation.zip, and resize all the images to 720x1280. also u need to edit the .txt document in the bootanimation to play at the correct size, speed and number of loops.
try using bootanimation factory. it will work.
Good Luck.

Perfect, exactly what I needed. Might take a bit of tweaking to get the picture set right but I'm on the right path.
Thanks Joshbeach
I TOOK THE LIBERTY OF FINISHING THIS FOR YOU!
This will work with version 10.0 of my theme - JellyBomb Domination.
Just got to CWM, and flash this .zip. (this will only work if Kernel supports custom bootanimation)

Make your choice lol:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sitesearch.php?q=energy star bios bootanimation
That bootanim exists everywhere, maybe the most diffused ever.
I wanted to make a cwm zip for you but after having a look in the bootanimation.zip from here you can be sure it won't work (someone tested it?Not even sure your device will boot, pretty rare to be that buggy for a bootanim..)
I found one Samsung Galaxy S tagged, only bad side is that it's maybe a little too fast (30fps) we could reduce that later if you want.
For now if you want to test here's a cwm zip that will push it to data/local (I prefer it like this, that way you'll keep your bootanim even if you upgrade your rom unless you wipe data).

Thanks! remind me of my old PC
is it good for i9001 too? it's my first boot animation...

[BootSplash] HTC One - GE style

Inspired by the sexy new GE bootsplash, I've made this HTC One branded version.
Simply flash via recovery as per normal.
Tested and works on ARHD, other ROMs may need to rename the bootanimation.zip to suit.
I also have an ARHD branded version here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43007646&postcount=29487

Check /system/customize/resource and see what the animation filenames are. The zip flashes bootanimation.zip, but not all roms use that filename. It's really better to extract the animation file and move it over manually, and set permissions. That way you can make sure the filenames are correct and backup your stock animation.
had to rename to hTC_bootup.one.zip on TRICKDROID

I wasn't sure how to extract and move it manually, so I checked that folder and found the files named htc_bootup_one.zip and htc_downanimation.zip. So I replaced both of them with the bootanimation.zip file. The bootup works perfectly, but the bootdown for some reason is at the very top of the screen instead of in the middle. Is there any way to fix this?
tnks that looks beatiful , but how is the quality in 5" 1080P
Revamped boot animation
Love the GE boot animation, but it was too short for my stock AT&T rom; i got the 'Android is starting' screen. So I did a quick touch up from the original animation the OP posted. Colors will loop around correctly. And a bonus for AT&T users, the startup music matches up nicely.
Depending on the ROM, you'll have to rename the zip to the correct name the ROM uses for boot animation.

[Q] Installing boot animation(s)

Now that I have CM7 on my Incredible, I'd like to potentially change the boot animation to the CM10 animation.
1. Am I correct that if I rename the bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.bak and then push the new animation to the system\media folder, it should work with animation and sound? Or do I also need to push a separate sound file as well?
2. I actually liked the stock boot animation. Can I open PG32IMG.zip, extract just the stock animation and return it to the phone like I described above? Or, once again, do I also need to push a separate sound file (for the drooooiiiiiiiiiiiid sound)?
Thanks in advance,
CheapDad
P.S. Bonus Question: The link for the NTSense theme is dead. Does anyone know where I can obtain a copy of the file? Google did not reveal any working results.
PPS Found this link, which may give me the stock boot animation. Would love for someone to confirm that as accurate.

Well, I just realized I never pasted the link in. Not very helpful.
In any event, I figured I couldn't goof this up too much. I found the file, copied it to /system/media since there is nothing in data. That didn't work, even with the correct file permissions. I entered recovery through CWM and installed zip from sdcard. (I placed another copy there.) That worked. Now I've got a CM10 boot animation for my CM7 phone!
