I have got a new Note II phone. Do we get Android 4.2 upgrade for Note II in India? I tried "system update", it says the device is already up to date. However it still has 4.1.2 only.

Latest version on Sammobile http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=GT-N7100&pcode=INU#firmware atm is XXDMC3 4.1.2 for India. But 4.2.2 should come soon

Unfortunately not yet, the latest informations that I read talked about a release in may-june but not sure about trusting because most of the "experts" talk by the "knowledge" of the fact that when the S4 will appear officially in the market, they will release that update.
As I said, anything official just what I read.

Hello, i brought a galaxy nexus GSM(no google wallet app available) device it got a upgrade for 4.1.1 but after the upgrade its not getting upgraded to 4.2 as it says "your device is up to date" i tried to do whatever that was possible by me ... i did go to apps/google service and cleared data and all but still no use ..please can some one help me out .. i really want to upgrade it to 4.2 without rooting it.

If your device doesn't want to upgrade to 4.2 itself, you're lucky then. A lot of people complain about 4.2
By the way if you want to get the answer please provide more info about the device.

You can get the 4.2 firmware from the Google website. Google it and there is a good tutorial on YouTube on how to upgrade.
I did this when going from miui back to stock(and I can get ota updates)

to update manually: there's no need to root, just unlock.

Chances are you have one of the local version(anything other than yakju and takju), in which case you won't get the update until samsung decides to push it. You can however flash the yakju or takju software yourself.

The file size is 118.92mb and it keeps notifying me about a software update. I want to update, but don't want to lose root. Anyone know what this update entails?
This update is really good.. Now my Tab 3 (SM-T211) is so smooth and transparent status bar has been improved a lot.. I got that ota update which is about 84MB (Indian 4.1.2 Firmware)
Hopefully, we will get KitKat 4.4 for Tab 3 (T211 model) soon..

UPDATE: I went ahead and did the update. I DID LOOSE ROOT, but the device seems to respond much quicker.

I have the following problem - when I connect my phone to Kies and try to update it says "does not support your device" something like this. When I try to update over the phone menu it says that I have the latest updates already, and I live in Bulgaria, on Globul network and they have 4.3 since December 18... What is the problem and how can I save it ? Thank you.
P.s. I have never flashed or custom rommed my phone.
You probably did your latest update OTA. You will have to wait for it.

Check out with the Samsung service center weather ur carrier has a official update or if u hav warranty then they will do the update for u..

My brother sent me an unlocked AT&T s3 from USA. I live in Australia and have been using the phone here since last year. Recently i found out that the phone is till running 4.1.1 software but when i checked for an update it says that there is no update available.
Can anyone please tell me that how can I upgrade the software here in Australia?

Thanks for the info but it seems for India, N7100XXUFNL1 is the latest one.
It looks like Samsung has abandoned N7100 along with thousands of it's users.
I would not like to root or use any other method to upgrade to later firmwares as I have no idea about them,so it is better to leave it as it is instead of bricking it.
We spent so many thousands of Rs for buying this N7100.Shame on Samsung for abandoning it .
