A MUST read for DXLF1 users

For those members here(including me) who are using the latest DXLF1 Stock ROM for our Galaxy Y, The Good News Is ......................WE CAN ROOT & UNROOT now our Galaxy Y !!!! it means the latest firmware is ROOTABLE and UNROOTABLE !! Confirmed and tested by me: OK Anyways,I have some Screen Captures' from my phone running DXLF1 Stock ROM attached :fingers-crossed:

What? I don't understand were the previous version unrootable?

what are the changelogs anyways?

the old firmware is rootable and unrootable too.

What the, its rootable when i installed it...

I think it isn't rootable for ur own device not to the others

I think all firmwares are rootable, it depends on the provider though..some providers like Verizon(not sure) requests providers to lock the devices so it wont be rooted, but as for firmware, all firmwares are rootable:angel:

Are you pertaining to root without pushing Superuser.apk? Just download from market and install busybox?

others version are like that too.. rootable and unrootable? maybe the new FW is COOL? check the lockscreen or anything else that will make it awesome

what do you mean?? the old one firmware is rootable and unrootable not only this firmware more better when you give the changelog on this frimware from DXLE1 :angel:

hey im sorry im new to all this but can any one tell me what would happen if i choose "restore factory setting" or "check for updates" after rooting or installing a custom rom or if connect my phone to kies after installing a custom rom(and im sorry if i broke any forum rule in this post)

You can use Odin to put CWM to ur phone, then flash Super user. All those files and step by step guideline is available as sticky notes in our forum.

^thanks. i didnt see the new thread about rooting 4.0.4 as i was still looking in the android dev section instead general. finally got my replacement in and and rooting it asap. my old SGS2 will be missed...so many files were lost.

rooting the fone will void the warranty software related or it will void hardware I m confused about it should I go for custom Rom or just use the way it is also I ve been using it since June now i have tried almost everything to make it work fine . Should I root it or just use it as the way it sucks . Help please
where I can find a real noob way to flash and root everything till my fone is in working state. this sense always eat ram even Samsung galaxy y is still so faster then this piece of ****. Help please

[Q] [GT-P5210] Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 - Kingo Android Root?

Hey there, I was wondering whether I could use the Software "KingoAndroidRoot" to simply root my GT-P5210.
Anyone tried this? Because http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432467 here the Root ZIP download does not work..
I could just click on root now but im a bit scared since I found nothing about my Tablet in combination with this software(kingo android root) :S can it even brick the device?
i have 4.2.2 installed... just want to get rid of all these preinstalled apps... touchwiz isnt too bad imo.
Still would apreciate roms, do you think in the future there might be cyanogenmod or something aviable for this device??

Don't use Kingo...Just tested it for you and after 45 minutes of headache it doesn't work. Maybe the next version will.

suddenly, after some try's (and samsung recovering the stock recovery -_-) i finally got it to reboot directly into Recovery to install root..
now finally I can get rid of these annoying preinstalled apps.. not as good as a whole rom, but a start!

Rooting on Lollipop 5.0

I just received my LG G3 today and updated to lollipop, not realising it was basically unrootable. Please tell me there is an option to root or atleast there will be soon? I cannot live without my Viper4Android app!
I can't believe I was so dumb to just install the update without considering the potential issues with rooting.
I updated my Nexus 7 to lollipop and quickly went back to KitKat using the Root Toolkit, so I didn't realise that we were having an issue with rooting lollipop devices. Or I wouldn't have updated at all.
I'm due another LG G3 tomorrow as the original company were out of stock, so I ended up going into the store and picking one up today, and ofcourse the original company just at that moment emailed me to confirm delivery for the following day.... anyway how far away are we from getting a solution... i will need to return one G3 so would it be worth returning the device i updated and keeping the G3 which will likely come shipped with Kitkat? Or will a solution likely be here soon?

Actually u can just install a custom lollipop rom which is already rooted or even install a stock rooted one too , it's up to u which one whould u like to return , for the updated one u can downgrade to kitkat using tot file and then root and get a custom recovery ... And install whatever u want

Thanks but i managed to restore it, iam now replying off my g3 running Kitkat
Next step, rooting, custom rom and viper!
