Long pressing home button in CM9 brings up recent app.
But there is no some sort of 'clear all apps' button, we have to swipe them off one by one.
I did search around in the forum, but there is no such thing like 'clear all app' or something just ONLY modify the 'recent app'.
So... help?

I have little use for the search button. rather than long hold home in cm7 I'd rather press the search button to do think instead...any suggestions?
Try perfect task switcher in the market. It even gives a an screen shot of what's running. Kinda like in honeycomb. And you can map it to the search button using their settings. Its a long hold of the search button tho.

thanks but I'm looking to not hold anything to bring up the recent apps list. I'm sure many of us use it frequently so it'll just be an extra of productivity to just press than long press
Can anyone make the "Recent Apps" button to a "Menu" button?
My dad wants very much, as he is used to the older HTC phones with a menu button and he never use the "Recent Apps" button
Thanks, I hope so much that anyone can do it
It may be available in custom roms....but i am not sure

Just press and hold the Recent Apps button. If you're there on a screen with 'Settings' option, it will work. I downloaded an app named 'iLightr' from Android Market... It worked on my previous phone (Xperia Mini) but as it had an Menu button, I could change the cases... Now if I want to go to settings in iLightr app, I press and hold the Recent Apps button.
Hi Guys,
Strange problem, but on my HOX after flashing LeeDroid, my Menu button in the top right is missing from Play Store (so I can't access My Apps) I just have the spyglass. Also the menu button is missing in some apps (Like in Zedge)
Any ideas?
That means your menu will be either
1 recent apps button
2 long press recent apps button
3 home button
4 long press home button

Does tapping the recent apps button bring up the menu instead?

No, recent apps brings up recent apps as does a long press. Home button long press also brings up recent apps.
But good suggestions all the same! It's going to be something simple I bet....
Hello,
The problem is that in all apps I have no acces to basic settings.
For example in a wheather app I can change from F degrees to C. Or in Titanium Backup i can change the folder where the backup should be stored because i can not even find the settings menu.
Is like I would have a dedicated button for settings like in Samsung.
Am I missing something ?
Are you looking for 3dot menu?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 4
If the 3dot menu is hidden then those menu's are most of the time set under the recent apps soft touch button
Yes, the 3dot menu.
What do you mean under the recent apps button ? On that button I have ... well recent apps.
Should I have choosen some option from aroma to have a settings burton instead of last apps ?

Don't know if the aroma of SD holds that option, but maybe its in settings itself somewhere, many times its set up like this :
short press recent apps button = options menu
long press recent apps button = recent apps menu
did you check out the sd thread ?
Short press is latest apps. It doesnt matter if in app or anywhere else. Long press is .. nothing.
I can not post in the thread, not enough post. And I have read the last pages and nobody reporter such problem. And there are a lot pages to read all de thread.
You have to go to phone settings then screen or so and then you can choose the the thing which opens when you use the recent apps button...short press menu and long is recent app and also reboot then after choosing it should work ...you also don't need to read the thread fully just try to use the search...

Anyway to get the menu overflow button into all apps and disable menu key or make it multitask key? Xposed modules or Roms? I loathe the menu key. All of my other devices have software buttons so I'm always thrown off when going to my note. Thanks

xposed module: 3-dot menu mod do the job(add soft menu key). Install it, activate in xposed and restart.
PS. And Samsung did it again wrong, because the menus are ugly in all their apps (light grey icons on a white background).

Good stuff. This restored the 3 dot menu in Chrome after Google yanked it out in the last update.

Now to find a way to turn the menu button into a task switcher button and set long press home to google now
Youre right ... Listen to me get xposed modules install gravity box jellybean version... and use their pie controls.... make them appear on left side.... so use ur left thumb to acces home button and recent task on pie.... and your right thumb for the return button ... i know the feels... since that threw me off too ... this way you can comfortably navigate without sacrificing screen estate... .. trust me it rocks... contact me if you have more questions .. youre welcome

Long press home to Google Now can be done with Xposed. Both my phone and tablet work like that. I use Switchr for task switching with the activator in the bottom left and Button Savior Pro on the bottom right.
mine does that automatically. it also tried opening dolphin for some reason LoL
