Help, I brokeded my phone trying to use this ROM!
I recently tried to flash the 4.3 Stock MOD ROM to my ATT S3. It wasn't smooth for me so I Nandroided back to 4.1.1. and now my camera does not work and I get an error that says "Cant connect to the Camera" or "Camera failed" depending if I use the Jelly Bean Camera or the Samsung camera.
No fault of the ROM I’m sure but I need help figuring out what I’ve done wrong. I switched back to my Nandroid backup of 4.1.1 Stock because 4.3 was just NO smooth for me. Also I can’t stand regular keyboard, I need my Samsung Note 2 keyboard!
4.3 had a lot of laggy-ness and random crashing. I flashed the Modem, ROM and Kernel in the order with the steps listed per the OP.
When I decided to go back to my backup, I flashed the DLK3 Stock Modem, then flashed back to my backup and wipe the various caches.
Everything about my backup works BUT my camera. I also noticed I can’t use the flashlight option on my 4.1.1 ROM now. Anything related to the camera is broken.
I’ve tried killing and clearing the camera process per several articles I found on Google and here on XDA without luck. Everything suggested it was a hardware issue at that point and to warranty the phone. I deiced to try 4.3 one more time and sure enough, my camera works when flash back to Anroid 4.3 ROM.
I’m stumped.
Any thoughts sort of reinstalling 4.1.1 from scratch?

You have to have the bootloaders for 4.1.1 for the camera to work in 4.1.1. This happened to me a while back with 4.1.2. There's a thread here somewhere where you can download the correct bootloaders and flash with ODIN.
EDIT: Here's the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2321310
You need the DLK3 bootloaders (well, that is if you have the AT&T gs3) for the camera to work.

YOU ROCK! You have been thanked.
That completely fixed the issue. I didn't realize the bootloader changed.OK thanks again you saved me a lot of hassle and trouble shooting.
If I'm unrooting and getting back to stock rom , how should I do in order to get back my app data ?
You shouldn't.......
As we all know, the stock firmware is GB based.......
I'm assuming you have been running one of the custom ROMs.....
In which case, you have been running ICS or later.
Restoring data between different android versions is NOT recommended as it is likely to cause app instability and can result in system force closure.......
This might be my S2, or it might be my W...but it's definitely CM
Hi,
After upgrading OTA to kitkat (australia version) one of my favourite apps stopped working and caused constant reboots to my tab3.
I tried to downgrade with odin to the stock 4.2.2 (auatralia, from sammobile) but I could not. After flshing, the "samsung galaxy tab 3" logo appeared but the tab never turned on, it kept rebooting and rebooting from ours. I tried the same with other 4.2.2 roms with the same results. However I was able to flash any 4.4.2 rom from sammobile.
After that I tried to flash some 4.2.2 roms using twrp and bindroid, I had the same rebooting problems. However, with twrp I can flash 4.4.2 based roms as pimpdroid.
So, I do not why, apparently my tab only accepts 4.4.2 roms... Any suggestions about what should I do to go back to 4.2.2?
Thanks for your time,
A.

Hi I'm trying to get back to 4.4.2 to 4.2.2 works because although there are excellent applications like Facebook that are causing me problems. But in trying to make the retoroceso as I usually do with ODIN stock form and I was left in a permanent reboot and does not pass the SAMSUNG logo .... solution? Thank you!:crying:
@planinsky, Have you tried a firmware for another region in the world? I live in the United States but have found firmware for the United Kingdom or Canada works best when I flash. There should not be any difference in the firmwares except for regionalization, but it seems some work and some don't work for me. Regional settings can always be tweaked in the Settings panel after install. Do you have a nandroid backup made in TWRP? Those usually always recover a device. I too had a problem having anything flash when I first started making my rom. 3 weeks I had a device that would not boot. So it is recoverable. Odin will save your device.
@planinsky and @MDCB try to download this firmware from Sammobile. This is for the UK 4.2.2 version. http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/28243/P5210XXUANB4_P5210BTUANB1_BTU.zip/
I usually use ODIN 3.07. I assume you know the following but just in case. Remember to flash it in the PDA slot. Only have "Auto reboot" and "F. Reset time" checked.
Using Odin will reset anything the 4.4.2 builds have done to the partitions. If it doesn't work, I can only suggest to try again. When it comes to flashing, sometimes the TWRP builds for our device can be a little goofy in writing. I have not investigated completely. In the 4.2.2 roms I have flashed pimpdroid and cagrom, they seem to flash good with Moonbutt77's philz recovery with very little problems. I however cannot get 4.4 roms to flash in philz but only in TWRP. So sometimes the recovery itself seems to have a problem with the android version, or so it seems.
The above is only written from my experience on this device and cannot predict every situation.
Good luck.
Hi! Thanks for the tips.
Ufortunately, I have already tried 4.2.2 ROMS from different countries (from Sammobile): Australia (the original country of my Tab), UK, New Zealand, Belgium and US. None of them worked. I'm still downloading other ROMS but I'm startin to lose the faith... The custom ROMS I have tried, neither work and get into the bootloop.
The backup I have from TWRP is from a 4.4.2 so it's not a solution.
On the other hand, I can flash almost any 4.4.2 ROM with odin and/or TWRP. So I'm afraid I'll soon give up and I will accept that my Tab will not longer run the app I loved (Movistar TV)... Hopefully with the arrival of lollypop the developers will update the app and the bug which causes the crash will disappear.
Hi,
I have a problem with an i8160 on which I had installed the CyanogenMod 10.2-20140728-UNOFFICIAL-codina but I had problems, I then tried to return to the stock ROM but I can not in any way, I tried with odin and official samsung firmware, with NSPRO, with ClockworkMod but nothing, the system does not apply any changes, always comes back to the old CyanogenMod, I realized also that uninstalling any program I find him again in his place after phone restart , you have any suggestions ??? What can I do ???
I'm currently on DotOS 5.1.2 currently and want to go back to stock samsung firmware. I have a sm g9600 from mexico i believe. If i try to flash whatever the newest firmware is for mexico would that work? Is there anything special i need to do to prep for the new firmware? DotOS is on android 11 and the highest android version i have found is 10 from samsung. I'm wanting to revert back so i can have bluetooth calling and screen mirroring working properly again, and hopefully less battery drain.
It should be working fine, just flash the newest rom via Odin. After flashing you might get some errors during the first run. In such case you need to go to standard recovery and do a factory reset + wipe cache.
I am also unhappy with the amount of time I have wasted with custom ROMs for this phone. How do I go back?
