I hope Sprint is just ebgin understated with their changelogs....because 27MB to address those two bugs sounds moronic on the surface.

It probably replaced the apks with new ones instead of patching the old ones. 27mb is about right for the lockscreen apk and the recent apps apk, or possibly just the lockscreen apk since it would control the wake with home key as well as the lockscreen exploit patch. Let me look and see how big the lockscreen actually is on my device.

The update is the exact right size to replace frameworks-res and twframeworks-res with updated apks. Combined they are about 26mb prior to the update.

Much better, touch recovery, I was sick of going down long lists, at least you can hold down vol buttons to move around, on GS2 recover you have to click, click, click the vol buttons to everytime. This is even better though.

Don't forget to use voodoo root protector so you can easily restore root when you are done. At 81.5mb, it looks like its probably too small to be JB.

i think based on filesize it's certainly not JB. But it would be nice if there was a changelog somewhere. Ironic how if you're not rooted you can get the update right away. Par for the course I suppose.

They probably updated to LI3, but because they were rooted or did a non-OTA update, the servers still think they need the update.
Is there anyone who has updated to LI3 through OTA that is completely stock and not rooted that is getting this additional update?

What ROM are they running, if they updated then flashed something based on lg8 then they aren't updated anymore
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
If you are on LI3 but somehow did not change your build.prop you will get the update notification. Just flashing the modem and firmware does not put you on LI3 completely and you will still get the update notification. Edit your build.prop and everywhere you see LG8 change it to LI3, save and reboot.
I'm stock rooted LG8 and have no reason to bother going to LI3. I just started getting the incessant nagging to update. I was under the impression that rooting would stop any OTA notifications. How can I stop the update nag and remain on LG8?
I'm still on LG8 here in St. Louis, and my SIII doesn't show any updates for firmware or Samsung software, after checking moments ago. Isn't there a newer version out for everyone than LG8, even before this update?
Edit: I'm stock, unrooted.

Don't upgrade Wallet

It has a "security upgrade" that will disable it working on rooted devices.
I had a. backup so I deleted and restoted. Back in business.

I'm still not sure why I don't ever get any notification of an upgrade. It must be the hack version that I did, the one where you revert your build.prop back.

But this (v6) is being pulled over concerns of hard-bricking. The OP of that thread did give a link for the mod however.

The app doesn't cause the hard brick. The lazyness of people not reverting their build.prop back to stock is what causes the hard bricks.

That's only if you use Mobile Odin. If you don't then it's okay.

I don't think that's what he said or what he meant. There is a real danger for those who mod their build.prop (for whatever reason, not just the GW hack) and then use mobile Odin to flash something without changing it back to their defualt. Do this and you will get a brick, it has happened to a few.

You should know that you shouldn't update the apks which Steve has themed. Turn off auto update in your Market app, and wait for him to provide a flashable update for you. One of the many reasons his ROM is the best is he's very quick in getting updates out to his followers.

I missed Halo so much. What version is this; 2.0? Halo should be sucked into AOSP by google.
lol @ people complaining about the method of delivery on a product distributed at no charge.
Seriously though, thanks for the rock-solid BeanStalky 4.4 experience... Battery life is phenomenal so far; almost 14 hours of bluetooth, GPS, and music and I still have 60% left.
Thread cleaned... Keep trolls at bay, report them immediately and do not reply, that only feeds them.
If you have nothing nice to say, it is best not to say anything at all then. Nice to meet you all, I will be visiting more often now.
So excited to install this. I thought CM11 was 4.4 based (you say 10.2 based in Op)?

It's definitely 4.4, which would in fact be CM11; just a relic from the copy/paste from the 4.3 thread I guess.

Did you manually make any changes to improve battery life? I had absolutely insane battery life in Beanstalk 4.2.2 and 4.3 but it's not very good for me now on 4.4. I've always used Greenify to hibernate apps but nothing else. Any help is appreciated!
