So I should state that I did the most recent OTA update. Didn't think much about it at the time so not sure if it is contributing to my issues.
I first installed the Rythmic rom and was encountering reboots after loading into the rom about every 30-60 seconds.
I thought it was the rom so after re-installing it a couple times decided to try another rom. So I installed the CodefireX rom and it seems to constantly reboot in faster intervals then the previous rom.
anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
the ota is the problem, if its the 73 mb one then you can't do much about it. although codefirex should be working for you...are you using a newer build, one with the kernel fix?

so i feel stupid. i thought the fix on rythmic rom was implemented and didn't see you have to a manual update in addition to the main install. so still stuck with the most recent OTA antenna etc I do finally have a phone that doesn't constantly reboot. :good:

Does anyone else have problems with the right margin in Gmail, where there's a good-sized gap of whiteness? See the screenshot below to understand what I'm talking about. It happens to me just about on every ROM that is based on Gingerbread. I can rotate my screen to landscape mode, then back to portrait, and it's fine. But, when I close Gmail, open it back up, it happens just like what you see in the attachment again. It totally sucks.
Thoughts?
Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this?
Nothing? Wow...
Just for the record, I have tried the following gapps with various Gingerbread ROMs, and these do experience the right-margin issue in Gmail.
- gapps-gb-20110120-signed.zip
- gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip
I've never had this problem running the following ROMs...
- Virtuous 1.0.1 (HTC Sense)
- GingerVillain 1.5 (Gingerbread)
- all Froyo-based ROMs
Just hoping someone has a simple fix, tweak or anything to get around this problem. Thanks.
Same problem on cm7

What's causing this and how can it be fixed? That's what I'd like to know.
Glad I'm not the only one experiencing this.
Not many people running gb yet, but I bet all gb users are seeing it.

I don't have this problem, not sure if I ever did but if I did, I didn't notice it. I'm running a rom that's based on a CM 7 nightly after RC2, can't remember exactly the version. First try to go in to app management and clear all app data for Gmail and see if that fixes it for you.

I've done all of that on various CM7-based ROMs, and it doesn't help. Running a ROM based on HTC Sense (i.e. Virtuous 1.0.1) has zero Gmail issues whatsoever, so it's apparently related to Gingerbread... or something Cyanogen related. I just wish that stock Gingerbread comes out soon, one that is truly AOSP based and not filled with Cyanogen. I have nothing against CM in any way shape or form, I just want to have a taste of PURE Gingerbread.
I have had problems with several verisons of gapps but this works for me : gingerbread-gapps-12302010.zip

Thanks.

Tried flashing the gingerbread-gapps-12302010.zip you suggested, and I'm still experiencing the same problem with the right margin in Gmail.
Thanks for trying to help me with this.

Of course I did that. I always do a full data/cache/dalvik wipe between ROMs. I don't have this problem with non-Gingerbread ROMs.

Who else is experiencing this issue?
okay so I got the same problem with my nexus one. x10,desire ΕΎ and desire hd on cm7. I'm not sure if its supposed to be this way but it's quite annoying once you notice it
I am also having this problem with Gmail on CM 7 nightly 30. Honestly I didn't even notice it until you pointed it out. Only seems to happen with text though.
With the new update for the evo can I now use that kernel on other roms that run 2.3 with sense 2.1 and will it fix the brightness issue?

Depends on the rom! Just from my experience the version MIK tweaked from the MikG v1.0 - Re-Engineered GB Sense 2.1 + 3.0
[Kernel] - 2.6.35.10-htc-kernal_and18-2 - from the OTA:" worked for me on misfits and of course miks rom

It is in his OP thread.
I am running Gengersense B4, and I spent today updating to all of the new radios. The last thing I did was find the kernel included in yesterday's Gingerbread OTA, and of course, my Wifi now says "error".
The brightness problem with the leaked GB kernel is fixed, but my wifi no longer works. Anyone else with this problem?
I'm using Sac's Kingdom Rom V4 and the new kernel fixed my brightness issue (also made everything run much smoother).
Ya I updated all that crap and then my phone wouldn't sleep. Sometimes don't fix it if it ain't broke. I will probably try it again though.

Did you update to the 2.15 PRI? I know the 1.90 was quirky with newer baseband versions and was causing wakelock. I went with 2.15 today and also update the radio to 05.02, and I'm not getting any wakelock.

Is your wifi working? I'm frustrated because I finally got this rom fixed up for everyday use, the new radios were working great, and my LAST task to update the kernel fixed the brightness, but made my wifi crap out.
There are 2 kernels out one for the stock ota update and one modified for all other ROMs make sure you have the right one .
Here is a link .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038701
But I think you could find it in that link a few posts up from the mikg ROM.

Thanks linsalata28. I probably flashed the kernel for the stock rom. I need to flash the other kernel for Gengersense, correct?
I will post back after trying the non-stock.

What kernel were you using? These bugs seem more kernel related than rom issues.
BTW i`m running Leedroid v5.1.0 with Bricked kernel and have never experienced these bugs.
Very satisfied Leedroid user
I am using latest bricked kernel just to have sweep2unlock.
I have uninstalled some HTC apps like Note and ''messages uploader'' because I used to have ''network error...'' message nearly everytime I unlocked the screen,an app what trying to use internet all the time while I put mobile data off to preserve battery.
Now I am getting this message once a day max
Try insert coin or coredroid Rom, I never had any annoying bugs with these.

Hey, I flash this ROM a few weeks ago but today seems like I had a problem with it it just froze on the HTC white screen on boot now I can't Boot into ROM I did not mess around with it I just rebooted and there it goes ) could anyone help me?
I think that this is the wrong place for your post. the right place is the jibwich 2.0 thread!
apart from that jibwich is outdated and practically indifferent from Andromadus Audacity beta 1 or 2. The best and up-to-date ics roms are the Andromadus roms (mimicry and audacity).

Sounds more like a recovery problem than a ROM problem; what recovery are you using? CWM frequently has this issue, try reflashing the latest version or, better yet, flash 4ext.

Hello guys, i have a big problem and i could not find a solition on my on.
I have a rooted android that i was able to update from 4.0.3 to 4.2.2 via OTA (i had to flash recovery, but not with CW, the stock one), but i wanted the new 4,4 kit kat. I found a ROM in and followed the instructions, witch told me to install the gapps for 4.3 and 4.4 and them the android ROM. When i did that the android ROM gave me status 7 errorm so i decided to stay with 4.2.2 already installed, but now all my google apps crash, i can't open the store, google+ or any google app, even their server crashes.
I get this mesage "unfortunatly, google play has stoped working" every time i press it's buttom.
i instaled the gapps for 4.2 again, but it still crashes. I think it's the ROM instalation gone bad.
I don't mind using 4.2.2, i just want to use it. If i could make the 4.4 work or just re-install jelly bean, i'd be so glad. I tryed formating/restore factory, but i does not work, i still get the crashes.
I don't know if its clear enough. But i apreciate any help i can get. I found similar problems searching the forum, but none of the answers helped me.

I solved the problem guys. After trying to install CM 11, i found out that even the HTC one X topic where posting info that only works with HTC One, not the X. They where all about m7 and the others, but not endeavoru like mine.
So i tryed to install the CM 10.2 and the gapps for 4.3. It seens to be all good, altough i am still testing.
The secret was to flash boot the boot.img, like this tutorial says.
