I've got an unrooted, galaxy nexus, android version 4.2.1. When I unplugged it from my charger this morning it went into an endless boot loop. It tries to restart but never gets past the screen that just says google on it. I took out the battery and tried to restart it, I tried to go into recovery mode, and i tried to a factory reset. I never got past the screen that says google while trying all of these. Anyone have this problem before, or has any idea how to fix it?

Hi guys,
I'm hoping someone can offer some advice.
I'm running a non-rooted, GSM, stock 4.0.1 Galaxy nexus. My phone restarted on its own and is now stuck in an infinite boot loop. I did several battery pulls to turn the phone off. Turning it on again, it gets stuck in the boot loop never reaching the homescreen.
Any ideas?
thanks in advance
Well you could grab an Odin flash file and reset your phone from download mode. When powering on the fone hold volume down and power.
Also could hold both volume buttons and power when turning on to go into fast boot mode where you could try flashing a stock image through fastboot from your pc
Android - making grown men pee sitting down since 2.0
How do I even get the files on the phone?

Get into a bootloader and factory reset your phone.
It was happening to my gn everytime I put it in my pocket. Why I don't know. I put my gn in perfectly working condition in my pocket and when I pulled it out wanting to, say, take a picture, it was looping.
Been to the store, called tech supp... nobody knows why.
That all stopped after I unlocked, rooted and flashed a custom rom. Not one crash ever since (10 days)
Thanks man. I just brought it back to the store and they replaced it.
anybody knows how to back up my pictures/movies. I got also the boot loop issue and I first want to secure my files before resetting... My GN is not rooted or modded whatsoever.

I', afraid it's not possible without root and CWM.
Just happened this morning, while using my non-rooted stock gsm gn. All of a sudden it turned off and rebooted, but can't get past the google screen... it goes back to black screen then google screen... pls help!
This happened to me aswell, like three hours ago.
A full battery load during night and then I used it for navigating to a customer, sent a SMS. When I check the phone later the white led is flashing to tell me I got a new notification.
But the phone won't wake up, so I pull the battery and now it is stuck at the Google logo, it never comes to the boot animation. It is freezing with the Google logo and it can't be turned off.--- without pulling the battery
I'm running OTA update 4.0.2 the phone is not rooted.
Still stuck!
This I have tried to no avail:
Via fastboot unlock the bootloader, hangs.
Via Odin reinstall image (ICL53F), hangs (aborted after 10 minutes of waiting)
Odin hangs at "NAND Write Start!!"
To me it seems like I've lost the flashmemory...
If no other solutions is recommended I guess I have to return the device... GAAH!
Also tried:
Code:
fastboot -w
Went for lunch and came back, but that command aslo hanged.
Update
Update.
My Galaxy Nexus is now running again, after a motherboard replacement done at a Samsung serviceshop.
The issue
Nexus 7 2013 has a problem where the tablet wont boot, it is stuck on the Google boot logo.
At that point i had tried the recovery mode, yet this flips back into the boot loop.
I had tried the charger option also... no luck there either.
The fix
I left the tablet for 1.5 hours then switched it on as normal.. the tablet decided to come back alive.
Its not the first time this has happened, the last time i done a factory recovery and that kind of solved it for a couple of days.
------------
It seems that this nexus 7 tablet is a lemon and needs to go back unless someone knows the answer >?
I don't know if you've unlocked the bootloader, rooted or flashed a custom recovery/ROM. If you have, I'd suggest completely returning to stock and seeing if that helps. If you haven't done those things or returning to stock doesn't help, send it back.
That's how mine started too, it will get worse until it fails completely. Mine just came back from ASUS on Monday and by Wednesday night it was already boot looping again.
Okay, so after I helped many people with their Galaxy Nexus problems, is my time to ask for help.
Yesterday while I was browsing the internet on my phone, it suddenly just stopped and started too bootloop. I thought it was just because I installed Xposed Framework couple of minutes ago(like 40-50). I tried to factory reset from recovery but didn't work. I just put the phone down and went for a sleep. Today when I woke up I tried to install the Google Factory Images 4.3 takju for maguro. The weird thing is that the phone noew boots until the X logo but then just restarts after flashing white for one milisecond. I tried to repeat the process using Nexus Root Toolkit but no succes either. I noticed that once the phone managed to boot up until the PIN code request screen and then it did the same thing. I'm out of ideas now, and if I can get any help I would be greatful.
PM: I was running Shiny ROM 4.4.4 at the time when this happened with the latest franco.Kernel.
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA0nbmPXE7w thsi is the exact same issue that I am having except I don't get to browse the phone, it just restarts during the X logo boot
I'm having problems getting my phone past the bootup screen. It first loads the logo then goes to the animated logo then the rethink possible animation and then finally gets stuck on the glowing samsung logo. It then shuts off and redoes the loop a couple of times until it stops with the battery charge up screen and freezes there until I remove the battery.
History: Purchased an att phone for the mb to replace my original phones because it had the insane chip. Had to root it to be able to unlock the phone with my carrier(telus). Since I was in it I flash the DN4 custom rom and everything needed into the phone. The phone functioned fine for about a month and then frequent freezes and restarts started happening. Near the end, the phone was stuck in a boot loop, loading into the DN4 animation boot screen then shutting itself off then on again to endlessly repeat the loop.
Present: At first I was able to get into TWRP and tried some things in there but nothing happened. When there I notice it stated "internal memory 0"-not sure if this means anything.
I was able to flash the saved recovery file from TWRP. Once I did that I could no longer go in TWRP and now have to use the samsung install/recovery.
I have since flashed the stock rom several times with odin and also wiped data/factory reset many times still does the same in bootup. Tried flashing TWRP into phone using odin 3.07 but failed.
What should be my next move? Pretty new at this so I may be missing something very simple or perhaps a dead phone???
Finally got the phone to boot up and run fine. It seems everything was good except the battery was acting up.
Next step is to get the battery to charge when phone is off.
I'll post this question in new thread.
