Stuck on Samsung boot... - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have read through the forums this evening and got a good start on somethings. Issue is my phone is stuck on the Samsung Galaxy note II GT-N7100 boot screen. Any 'easy' way to get this fixed... Doubtful. Anyway I have got the USB drivers installed and Odin does see my phone and gives me a port to it. Can I just install a rom or will I need a boot loader also? I would prefer not to have to wipe my data if possible. I have tried to get into recovery (stock) but it will not go into it. The only thing I can currently do is use my USB jig and get into download mode. Any help would of course be appreciated...

If odin detects your device and you have downlad mode accessible just flash stock ROM.
if issue remain same even after flashing stock ROM then you have to wipe cache and data from recovery.

Trying to revert to stock ROM AT&T I747

I tried using this process: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746665 to root my phone
After the odin push of the insecure kernel the phone wouldn't boot normally.
I am able to get into download mode, but the phone won't boot.
I'd like to be able to apply a stock rom back to the phone.
When I flash this ROM through odin it fails http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737848

are you able to get into recovery at all, or no.
There are two 'samsung' screens that i know of, i was stuck at the step 4.
1st: 'samsung'
2nd: 'Samsung Galaxy S III'
3rd: AT&T splash screen
4th: pulsating 'samsung'
I'm going to assume you are stuck on the pulsating Samsung screen. Here is what you should do. Go into the att cwm mode (not the real cwm) by holding volume up, home button, and then power button. Wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache. Then put phone into download mode - volume down, home button, and power button. Open Odin 3.07 on computer, select the from you want to flash in the PDA field, and then plug your phone via the USB cable that came with the phone into a USB port that is connected to your computers motherboard. You should see the COM port turn blue. Flash ROM and you should be good to go.

Yes, I can get into recovery and into download mode.
I was able to flash cwm recovery, but can't access the external SD card to attempt to flash a rom that way.
I tried factory reset/data wipe no luck.
I think something with the kernel i loaded is corrupt, so I need to find a known good stock rom to flash via odin.
It gets to the "2nd: 'Samsung Galaxy S III'" if I go into recovery mode.
Never past the first pulsing Samsung in normal boot, or download modes.

Was able to locate a working stock rom.

Need help with bricked note 2 after flash

I had been flashing a couple different roms using Mobile Odin. On my last flash (not sure what I did differently) but its stuck on Samsung Galaxy Note 2 boot screen. I can get it into download mode and recovery. When I hook it up to the computer to use odin on the pc it comes up ok. I tried reflashing chainfires rom/root and it seemed to run fine on odin and booted into the flash screen on the phone but when the phone reboots its still stuck on the boot screen. What should I do? Appreciate any advice. Thanks
Nevermind......was able to flash cwm onto the phone and flashed the rom I had on the sd card from there. Works now

[Q] Phone stuck in boot loop, not recognized by Odin

Earlier I reflashed back to the stock rom for my Galaxy S III, and after I flashed a new install of cyanogen mod I can't get my phone out of the boot loop. I can still access download mode but Odin and my computer won't pick up on it, and I can still access Clockword Mod. Is there anything to do or am I out of luck because my computer doesnt recognize my phone
Do you have an ext SD card ? Place a ROM on the ext card.
Did you wipe cache in stock recovery after flashing back to stock ?

Try this, usually in a case like yours there is at least a 50% success rate.
Reboot the phone into recovery and do a "Factory Reset".
After doing that reboot the phone and see if it boots completely.
If the phone boots up completely, you will also be able to go into download mode.
You may want to shell out less than $5.00 including shipping for a USB JIG on eBay or other places.
With a JIG all you do is turn the phone off or remove your battery, wait 20 seconds - replace battery and plug the little JIG into the usb of the
phone then wait a 2-3 seconds more or less and like magic you will be in download mode ready to Odin flash(tar) a proper Touchwiz Jellybean
I747 4.1.2 stock rooted rom which are very much un-like all these CM10/AOSP/AOKP roms which are all just experimental.
Once you have flashed the stock rooted jellybean 4.1.2 TAR rom you will be able to flash any custom Touchwiz Jellybean
custom rom of your choice unless you still want to go ahead and flash another experimental CM/AOKP/ASOP rom.
Good luck!
Not to nit pick, but the latest stock Jelly Bean for the I747 is 4.1.1, not 4.1.2. Also, most of the stock rooted roms don't include custom recovery. They usually include the stock 3e recovery. To get a custom recovery, just dl Rom manager for cwm, or goo manager for twrp, and they can install a recovery for you that will have you ready to flash.
Which version of stock did you flash?

What bootloader and modem are currently on your phone?
What ROM were you on and what were you flashing when the troubles started?
Since you can get into download mode, can you get into Recovery Mode? If you can, try putting CM11 on a MicroSd card and flash it from CWM.

My sgs2 is stuck in a boot loop, computers won't recognize the usb connection, and my sd card won't mount on philz touch 5 V6.0.3.7 My SD card is, however, recognizable if I plug it directly to my computer using an adapter.
so I rooted my phone using CWM. After that, my computer stopped recognizing my phone. I tried everything to fix it including factory resetting my phone, formatting cache, data, system, and sd card all under the CWM boot menu (hold volup+home+power). Soon afterwards, my phone got stuck in a boot loop. On startup, it hangs on the white "Samsung" logo. While trying to fix the issue, I noticed that my sd card won't mount.
I've tried this method, but it requires that I either have usb access or access to my phone. I've tried formatting the SD card in my computer. I've tried using different computers. I've tried using different usb cords. I've tried searching Google and these forums for a solution. i have uninstalled the samsung drivers countless times and rebooted with no success.
I need to figure out a way to flash the stock rom back to my phone. In order to do this, I need to get my usb to recognize or manage to have phil touch 5 v 6.0.3.7 mount the sd card. If I can do this, the rest is easy. Does anyone has any ideas on what can be done? please please assist!

When I turn my Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 on, It's stuck at the Samsung Logo. It does not boot. I can access recovery and download mode.
Wiping User Data didn't do anything.
I want to flash latest factory image back on it. Where can I find it and how do I flash it ?
I have no idea what ODIN is... I come from Nexus devices
Can I have simple instructions on how to do it ?
Thanks.

[Q] Bricked? Note 8 GT-N5110 stuck on boot loop

Hi all,
I've looked through several of the existing threads on the Note 8 and I've not gotten anywhere yet. I had the device happily rooted and working for months and then, stupid me, I used ROM manager to flash a new ROM this morning and on boot, it's stuck on the logo.
I CAN get to the recovery menu, but reset to factory default does nothing. I have wiped the cache from recovery and then tried to factory reset again; still stuck on logo at boot.
I can also get to download mode and have tried using KIES 2.6 (since KIES 3 is for Android 4.4.2 and up) and every time I try to do the update firmware/recovery, it starts, stops and says 'there is a problem with the download file' and then it quits.
I have tried using ODIN 3.7 and a few different recovery files but although it will say 'passed', on reboot, it's stuck on the logo.
Can someone help me, please? This is the only tablet I own and I really need it to not be a door stop
:crying:
not bricked yet, maybe. for now, try to download latest firmware from sammobile.com for n5110 and use odin to flash it.
about the factory reset of course it would still boot loop, you are trying to factory reset a bootlooped rom so it doesnt matter. you should flash a new zip through recovery.

Hi Mr.201,
Thank you for the suggestion. Question, when you say download the latest firmware, will it matter if I don't use the original? I ask because I've been trying to find the original firmware (stock) and while I've found many sites with GT-N5110 FW's, they are all coded for other countries; I can't seem to find one for US. So, if I use a newer firmware, will that work?
I can still get to recovery mode and download mode. I don't know if USB debugging is on, though, which I hope won't matter at this point. I can't remember if it was on when it died on me.
I appreciate your advice! Hopefully, I can get this thing going again. That would certainly make me a happy camper!
For some reason, the US version is labelled as "Cellular South" but in general, any 5110 rom will work, although there are some quirks with wifi frequencies between the North American and European roms.
My Note 8 got stuck in a boot loop. It was rooted/custom recovery/custom ROM. I tried some of things you did, and nothing worked. I ended up downloading and installing the ODIN one click recovery/un-rooted stock image from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2773712
This restores everything to stock (including the recovery). After flashing, it was still stuck in the boot loop. I booted into the factory recovery, and did a data wipe. After doing that, my note is working now. So ... doing this might be worth a try.
May I make a suggestion when flashing firmware... If you are flashing to something notreviously installed on the device. First flash with philz recovery and perform a full wipe for flashing new ROM. This way everything is clean for your flash to work properly.
A factory reset is not going to work as well for the new flash to take.
