I installed this update for my rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2109229
and my mms stopped working, I mean... my messages in general... When I open the message app, it gets frozen and I have to close it.
Any idea why?
I had the version 1.5 before. Thanks

For future reference is better to ask in the thread for the rom instead of making a new thread. Especially tweaked dwitherell is amazing at responding to problems and fixing them. Glad is fixed though

So what made you think you'd get better answers here rather than in the thread for tweaked whatever rom. I'd really love to know this?

super excited for this as well but patient. While some had the s3 since initial launch over a month ago. Many have only had the phone for 2 to 3 weeks. It will happen give it time.
But Verizon got it already
Verizon
That was the version I thought would have the least dev with the locked boot loader and all

I don't follow this comment. Paranoid Android Rom and FreeGS3 are no where near the same type of rom.

No.. They are not... I asked a question, being as it not available for sprint phones... Have you tried alternatives until then?

ParanoidAndroid
I've ported it to the AT&T S3 but haven't made a thread for it yet because I have one bug left in it, call audio doesn't work. I could port it to the Sprint S3 and upload it in this thread if anyone wants to test it. Call audio should be the only bug, well if there's any bugs in CM10 those will be present too.

The more ROMs the better
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
well im personally using aokp right now. it takes care of a lot of the cm10 bugs and it has a few customizations that i really enjoy already baked in (i.e. center clock and circlemod battery). the main reason i want the paranoid android is the in depth ui changing. and with jellybean now having 3 different uis baked in id love to go through and tinker with all of that. i really want the 7inch notification bar ui and the tablet camera ui ( i love the option wheel look). but just like it was mentioned earlier, more roms is never a bad thing but the only way i see me giving up aokp is for some PA love lol
Yup it is pretty badass

I've been trying to find a few that work without a problem and thus far I've only found a few apks like phonesky and mms and talk.
Anyone have some more/ a comprehensive package?
oh and does anyone think this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797717
will suffice?
Oh and does phone.apk have any bearing on calling?
Like does it affect quality and buggy-ness or is it just the user interface?

Justin bean 4.2 inverred for aosp works great.

Justun bean hands down. Zero bugs. Will only get bugs if you don't fully wipe. He also pumps out a lot of updates. However not really liking the way that thread is going. Ppl aren't reading and he's getting pissed to the point he's making a password to download the gapps. Password is broken down into 3 parts spread in the OP..... WHAT HAS XDA come to!! ?

Exactly why I baked them in. It was so dumb and I would be getting tons of questions like how do I download it and stuff like that.

I cannot post over on the Synergy thread that I located as it is developers only and I completely understand. I am hoping the Synergy folks see my post here and my thanks.
I've had my SGN2 for a few months and have pretty much played with JB Domination. I finally had enough of what I felt was the blue everything being shoved down my throat and went back to stock. I think it is one of the best ROM's out there but not if it forces you to accept all of it's programming and colors much like the SGN2 itself. This is my opinion.
Synergy is nice!! It gets ride of a lot of crap on the phone, it is very, very quick, it gives me the tether that I need. No complaints. I liked it so much that I actually sent in a small donation, something I typically do not do often on things like this.
I will say I am running V14 as it that seemed the heaviest in use. There is a v32 version but my phone kept turning off and had to have a battery pull to get it back online.
If you liked r14, upgrade to r47...its what i am running now (ziggy kernal and all). platt continues to outdo himself with each update!

I moved to Synergy today from a different rom and I've gotta say this is going to be my daily driver.
I do have 1 question tho. Im running LJC and it seems yo be performing great, should I upgrade to MA7? I just don't want to brick my phone. Thanks for the hardwork guys!

I upgraded from Synergy LJC to Synergy MA7 easily with no problems at all. I would say the biggest upgrade is being able to use Ziggys kernal. There were some hiccups with his kernal on LJC, but it runs smooth on MA7. I say make a nandroid, and take the plunge!

I've only tried a few roms and read a lot of reviews on others and decided not to flash any for a while. So right now I'm wondering if I can still flash different kernals without a specific rom? If so which would be best for stock root? I'm mainly looking for battery life and performance with maybe a few customizations if that matters any?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
Flash ktoonesz kernel and then head over to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032956
Every since I flashed this kernal its been freezing up and causing me to have to do a hard restsart. I'm jus going to revert to my backup and and try figure something else since I only understand half of what's going on in that thread and no one seems interested in helping with my issue. Thanks for your suggestion btw. If u have anything else I'm more than willing to try it out.

yea... since i flashed it my phone just randomly freezes and i have to pull the battery to get it started back up. and ive looked on the thread for the tweaks but none of the post match what i have listed in my phone and it just gets confusing from there
DId you flash the correct one? For TW? Try going back to a previous version of it.

how would i go about doing that? and is stock root the same as a tw rom?
Stock is Touchwiz, if you're stock rooted then yes, you are on a Touchwiz (or TW) ROM.

so how can i find an older version of the ktoonesz? or is there any other options available?
Yeah there is, ther'es AGAT kernel, theres freeza's optimized kernel, and then there's one more I think. Oh yeah, anthrax kernel, but that's not on these forums.
So in your opinion which do u think would be best?

Ktoonz kernel is my favorite, there is no best though... things didn't match what was shown because you have to use the ktweaker app and change your governor and io scheduler to the ones who's tweaks you're looking at...
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Xparent Blue Tapatalk 2
Ok that makes a lot more sence... so my question now is how can I kno which I/os and governors to choose and the tweaks to apply to them without screwing evwrything up? Basically is there anyway for me to learn about all of this in depth b4 I go experimenting?

Trial and error, Google and the kernelizers thread will be your best friend throughout your journey of ktoonz kernel tweaking... you can find that thread in general section... in the op you will see links to the team's box account that has pudding setups for you to use... gman and mw86 have the top battery saving setups with great performance also... read through the op and ask any questions about tweaking you may have in there... if anybody gives you a hard time on any questions you may have tell them I sent you! (the last part was a joke, they are all good guys over there)

I do not, try it out again, wipe cache and dalvik cache after flashing, don't mess with the kernel, just run it as is for a day and see how it performs, if all goes well then start your kernel tweaking journey :thumbup::thumbup:

Check the thread header. If it doesn't say "MC2" or "MA7" in the thread header it is likely AOSP.
The "newest ones" aren't that new as TouchWiz hasn't had an update from Sprint in 6+months. There's isn't much dev work to be done hence nothing that much "new".
Lab Rats and MundoHackz are probably the two that are still being improved on. Check those two out.
