Via terminal emulator is the easiest way. Just download an adb version on cwm thread and follow this step: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1924846

Is it possible to.. .?

Is it possible to add clockwork mod recovery on our phones w/o using Odin (directly from the phone) ? I was able to do this one the infuse 4g but I haven't seen any thing in the forums about it. Or a way to root w/o it either. I'm hardly ever home in close to my laptop so this would be a great help.

Yes. Use the thread sfhub inntje development section that is stickied at the top. U can flash the stock kernel with cwm without using Odin.

What I meant though was there a way to do it directly from the phone w/o a computer.

It should be thought. What if you just replace the stock recovery with the clockwork recovery?

Trying to be helpful, so...
No, because you need to use ADB (Android debug bridge) to run the zergrush exploit locally on the phone. you cant push the files onto the phone from itself or use the exploit. The best that they have right now is mobile Odin, but thats for flashing files over partitions, not rooting or a installing a recovery..

recovery should be built into the kernel that he is going to (mobile)odin and mobile odin will inject root into the system if the option is selceted. if used severel time and i think it works great. The only thing it failed me on was the modem. Has to do that at a CPU.

Technically he could download the zergrush files to his phone and run them and root... Then download a kernel to the phone and write it with dd

This is like Best ROM or kernel threads. There is no BEST. Just try them both and see which one you like it. However, I did do a TWRP and CWM comparison thread. If you're interested, PM me.

No.
Easiest method is to use Goo Manager, as stated.
Or you can find the .img and fastboot flash it.

If you can still use your USB port, I would recommend the link that Petrovski80 posted.
If you cannot use your USB port, then it is a bit trickier. You will have to:
1) Ensure you have root and a custom recovery;
2) Lock your bootloader using BootUnlocker
3) Flash the stock kernel in recovery
4) Flash the stock ROM (i.e, the /system folder) in recovery
5) Flash the stock recovery in recovery.
EDIT: I posted how to do this somewhere, but I can't remember where it is now. A quick search should find it.

Not packed the way it is, no. You need an Odin repack. Look in the dev section.

What the steps in your case should be, by my knowledge:
- Try extracting the .tar containing the actual img files by using an app like ZArchiver on your /sdcard
- Lock the bootloader using Bootunlocker app
- Reboot into recovery
- Flash appropriate img files
- Reboot into Android OS at least once so android will overwrite your custom recovery with stock
Disclaimer: none of this is tested, just theory.
If i can unzip it i think mobile odin can flash it i guess

Are you flashing the CMW that comes with the toolkit? doesnt work... you have to find it in the original development section and flash it via odin... Try philz recovery easier and more customizable!
