These are most favourite and two popular ROMs over here for our Note 2, and as I can flash only one, asking you guys which one would your prefer for better battery backup?
With Omega I have had 7 hours and 15 minutes average screen on time, and max I got 7 hours 52 minutes. If I flash ARHD could I get any better backup? I know ARHD is better for performance but I am not sure the same can be said for battery backup.
Will appreciate your feedback guys.
Regards.

Im sorry but could you please explain a bit more on what exactly is it that makes the ARHD a better performer? Im not saying the other one is but im curious to know from you, real world experience atleast.
Ive used all these roms and really theyre all the same, if any change in performance its almost insignificant.
Try phoenix rom. I'm getting great performance. 7k quadrant score

Android Revolution HD ROM
Do you like Pie or Pizza?
Nothing is above both ROMs. Both are based on different prefences and interest of a person.
I was a long term ARHD and Omega ROM user.
Both do well in terms of battery minus the human error.

Stock works great, it's fast and responsive, unless you have to have root, I wouldn't bother at the moment.
I used ARHD on my HTC One X because it was better than stock but JB on the Note 2 is super!

yup me too. i flash arhd 1.1 on my note 2 and it feels a lil laggy. It even make my 3g connection crawl like a tortoise. I was quite dumbfounded cos i tot it suppose to perform better. But wen i flash it back to stock. it feels so much better n my 3g connection was fast as per normal. so i shall stick to stock while the roms gets improved in due time
Ive been using the Perseus alpha24 kernal for a few days now, smooth fast and noticablely better battery life, havent tried a ROM yet, like you, waiting till they are a bit better.
Yes, I agree.
For now, stock is the best for stability and performance.
It needs time to make custom rom better than stock
imho
Stock forever.
I think its a very subjective topic and its only a matter of time before the mods close this thread (maybe)...
I personally like stock on Note 2. Nothing more needed
Unless it AR HD! Well thats stock too

I don't see why they will close this thread I'm just asking for your experiences with custom roms and I'm sharing mine, I'm not wasking what is the best roms amongst all the roms available on the forum but just if at the moment the stock is better than any other custom roms that's all.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Yeah, I have not used custom roms atm, I just disable what I don't want and that's it. But I wish there was a vanilla Jellybean to try out. Don't need overclocking, but I want undervolted rom to squeeze more juice.
It's nice to know that some of you love the stock experience out of the box. I'm getting my Galaxy Note 2 in November. Obviously many of us like to tinker, so I'm already pleased that the list of custom roms is growing for the Galaxy Note 2.
im flash addict and always was using custom rom but for note 2 stock+root=the best
To me Note 2 needs no rooting and flashing, works great the way it is and I like it that way.

I really love the stock look of my GS3 (t-999V) but I need a ROM with good battery life and couple of improvements tweaks. No themes at all ! Looking for smooth and stable daily use !
Which ROM y ou advise me ?
Thank you

Frosty jb I think. Only thing that is themed is pull down bar and even then slightly.

FrostyJB's battery life is wayy better than stock, you'll notice it right away...and after like 2 or 3 full charging cycles you'll have even better battery life.

Hi, is there anyone who can suggest me the best Rom + Kernel to use to have the maximum battery life? If there is a similar post, i'm sorry, i couldn't find it.

i believe you easily!
almost same config (rom), with leankernel and 4.1.2 version is doing the job with battery life, compared to 4.2 JB, its day and night.
Ill try trinity, already placed it on my memory but was testing leankernel
No SOD, or heavy drain in use ?
I'm trying the new dummy kernel from ak and it works really good. You should give it a try.
Dummy kernel and Purity rom does the job. 36 hours or so of usage with 3hr 30min of screen time or so. 3G on throughout. ARHD does the job too
I recommend AOKP with lean kernel. Best battery saving and buttery smooth.
The combo is so stable and it's my daily rom.

Given that you have to find *your* best combo, I think that Purity with lastest franco.kernel is better for battery life, even if AK kernel is a little better for performance.

GSM and LTE have different phone/data HW and chipset just because the phone technology is different. You have to find you custom (or stock) rom in your own forum.
And yes, you are quite OT , but I'm not an admin
Yeah sorry for the OT question. Also I wasn't asking about custom ROMs, I was asking about kernels but thank you I appreciate the reply.

I've tried about all of them and aosp with stock is definitely the best battery life........ With my usage pattern. Your mileage will probably vary.

That's how it should be but in reality it's not. Sammy roms have much better battery life but then again that could just be because there are better power and memory management features on stock. It's the only reason I've been reverting back to stock since almost every other cm10.1 based roms have ridiculously weak battery life.

that's kinda weird because on mine the battery on stock sucks but on cm10.1 it lasts a lot more so i was thinking the same for note2
Not really. Battery life is awesome at is on stock. You could flash some kernel like Perseus and do some undervolting or even underclocking to
squeeze more battery out of it though.
Battery life, I've found it to be more or less the same, if not marginally better on stock.
@bushako - How's battery life on MIUI mate? Heard it drains battery more than other stock based ROMs?
So what is better i hear different story's haha

I actually ended up going back to stock based Rom. The battery life wasn't as bad as I had thought, it got me about 6hours screen time. Don't get me wrong MIUI really looks gorgeous but at the expense of performance, especially at this stage since there's quite a few bugs that needs ironing out and also because MIUI and xposed framework use the same setup they are incompatible and I'm use to lower DPI. I might get back with signs of improvements.
Also, I found that Perseus kernel is not compatible with aosp and that so far the one that does work is neak and redpill.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Lower dpi means better battery life or drain the battery?
Android revolution
Android revolution rom is stock rom but all the things which causes lag are removed and u still get amazing battery too...

Romow really have very good battery life.
Can anyone weigh in on Santos CM vs NuSense vs LiquidSmooth? Looking for stability and battery life. Customizable is important, but secondary. I'd like to flash ASAP.
Thanks!
Just flash one and try it. Best way to see what works for you and your phone.

Been on NuSense, latest, and like it a lot too. Some funky things with the camera here and there but otherwise a great ROM.
