I currently have an old 6gb SanDisk sdcard I got a few years ago which works well for me.
Although I've been wanting to upgrade to a 32 or 64gb sdcard. I've noticed people having issues with sdcards like the phone won't recognize or it unmounts rapidly.
I was wondering what you guys use that's most stable for you. Do you guys use SanDisk, Samsung, etc memory cards? Post model or anything that works.
Thanks in advance.

SanDisk ultra 32gb class 10, replaced under warranty after developing issues. I am unhappy with SanDisk's silence over the issues and personally would probably by a Samsung card next time.

I use a 32gb Samsung class 10. Looking for a 64 by Samsung, for a S3.
8gb Kingston.. I also have loads of 1gb noname cards lying around
Silicon Power 16gb class 10. Has lifetime warranty and it's fast up to spec, and I use it for music. Love it.
Can the s3 even handle a 64gb...???.. I think it can only handle 32gb

Samsung class 10 for the moment but i want to upgrade to 64.
Do you guys see speed difference using a class 4 & a class 10 on a daily activity?
How can you see the speed of a memory card? Is it by downloading things? Or how responsive things in the memory card are when they're being used?

In most cases no, but I feel it's worth the extra few quid for the few cases where it does show.

Ok so im thinking of buying a 32g sd for this phone cuz i really wanna put all my music on my phone and i have like 10g of music, wondering how well it would work, Ive bought an 8g and 16g sandisk at walmart and both have worked great, anybody using a 32g on their s2?? What kind? Thanks

I'm using one... the speed isn't great but for music and videos and also for nandroid backups and such, speed isn't so much of an issue. I got it on sale from Newegg (I think the brand was A-Data or something like that) for $40, but I got it a while ago.
I have a Samsung class 4 32gb and I only have like 3gbs left on it. I have used it for the last few months in my T989 with zero issues
Just bought an 32gb Class 10 Samsung micro SD from Amazon for $50. Swapped it into my phone this morning. No problems, speeds are class 10 or better (see pic using SD tools app).
i have both the 32 GB and currently using the 64 GB as my daily driver
they both runs great
the speed of the SD is not determined by size, but by its quality and Write Speed
there is a sticky with benchmarks you can see which cards performs better

32gb all the way!
I bought 2 x 32GB cards (1for my GS2 and 1 for my gf's GS2) 28 each on ebay... Class 4 though, but works awesome. Great for titanium backups/music...going on vacation prob buy a 64GB for vid and pics.
I'm looking forward to the upcoming 128 GB microSD later this year
hope the prices are not insane, the price for the 64 GB i paid last year was pretty crazy already, if the 128 GB cost more than $300 i think i'll pass
I have a Samsung 32GB class 10 that I bought at frys for like a total of 35$ and havent filled it up. I put all my apps like mc3 asphalt 6 and all those big games on my sd card. And then I have like 16GB of music on my ext card and the rest I just use it for like nandroids, roms and theme back ups and and place for some video recording.

That's only a class 4. There were a couple deals with higher classes for around the same price. I would suggest going at least class 6. I think the max that our phone writes is 8? Not sure on that one.. I have a class 10 but i normally use a usb adapter to transfer files which is blazing fast compared to the data cable way.

I have the Sandisk which is fine for me. Still don't understand that my old Nokia N97 already had 32gb whereas the superduper quadcore hype devices of today are still stuck at 16gb internal memory. These should have been at 64gb stock. Ah well...

Try to find ones that labeled UHS-1 (or UHS-I). If you want use torrents or others extremely high IO operations buy only ones with >40MB read/write specification (actual speed will be lower), otherwise stick with those with >20MB read/write.
ADATA has UHS-1 series 45MB Read/Write
SanDisk has UHS-1 "Mobile Ultra" 20MB Read/Write and UHS-1 "Extreme" 90MB Read/Write
List of course is incomplete, and all of UHS-1 labeled card also have Class10 label (because there is no higher Class)
Other that SanDisk "Mobile Ultra" will be expensive at 64GB and hard to find..
I've read somewhere Samsung micro SD 64gb is slightly faster than Sandisk one by a few mb/s transfer speed.
Ty for your answers peep.

Sandisk.

too many issues with sandisk for my blood.
Stay away from SanDisk. They make good cards, but for some reason the GN2 just hates all classes of 32GB from them. I'd recommend the Samsung. They cost a little more but I've not heard of any issues with them.
Swyped from the closest Galaxy.

You already paid Samung for the phone, what's a few more dollars their way. I personally trust the Samsung brand even though Sandisk is just as amazing. Also, good luck on not getting a fake through eBay. Even if the seller looks legit, be weary.

Samsung cards have a bad habbit of write speeds of 6mbps on class 10 cards
My sandisc 64gb u1 writes at 30mbps
Also beware of ebay cards, I suggest a major online retailer so you dont get a hacked size card.

No issues with 64 gig other than the exfat 32 requirement with some Kernels. Does create some "envy" with some roms!
I'm using 64GB SanDisk SDXC. No problems across multiple phones, Note, GS3, G1, Note 2, GS2. Best bet is to not shop eBay for memory products and go with www.newegg.com
If you don't have an amazon card ans sign up for one they will give you a $30 credit. I used one on their 64gb sdxc directly from sandisk and payed like $32 total. Called the day after I received the CC and cancelled it with no penalties.

Do you have any data to back up your claim? Or is this your personal observation, if so where and how did you base your observation?
I have had no problems with SanDisk sdcards; in fact, from what I understand, SanDisk is the industry standard. I have had more than a few sdcards and SanDisk has been the most reliable over the years. Just my observation.
I've had the same scan disc ultra class 10 since I got my note 1 and it's held up great. I also have a Samsung class 10 and it's held up great too.

I can back this up... my SanDisk 64GB UHS-1 MicroSDXC died right at about 3 months. Writing to it/formatting it even on a PC caused it to get so hot it was painful to the touch. The good news is that SanDisk has excellent customer service and my new replacement is arriving UPS today.
Because of this, I've also bought a 64GB Samsung class 10 UHS-1 MicroSDXC and will be using it in my phone as my daily driver. I'll put the SanDisk in my GoPro or something else.
** EDIT ** I just wanted to add that I own a LOT of SanDisk microSD cards 32GB and smaller, and they have never given me a bit of problem. It's only the 64GB specifically that lots of people seem to have trouble with (based on my experience and Amazon reviews).
I just bought a SanDisk MicroSDXC 64gb and I've used it for a few days. It seems to be working fine at the moment, but if anything changes or if a issue arises, I'll post it here.
I formatted it to FAT32, instead of just leaving it as EXTFAT (look for a Fat32 converter on google). I've also transferred around 10gb or data to it on one go, and it seems to be holding up.
I very much hope that it doesn't die on me, but I have also read that people may have issues. Best thing to do is to back up your stuff every now and then.

If you haven't bought a card yet, buy the Samsung Class 10 card. It seems the speed is almost twice as fast as the SanDisk Class 10. I am using the SanDisk 64gb class 10 now and I wish I would have gotten the Samsung instead because of the huge speed difference.

I know there are numerous issues with 4.1.2 with the Note 2 and the S3 concerning the micro SD card. Right now I have a 2GB (no idea what the class is) SanDisk card in my note 2. I bought a 16GB class 10 lexar, and one day later I got the mounting issues where the phone would keep mounting and unmounting the card. Couple of days later, the card was totally unreadable by the phone. So I decided to take it out and thankfully it was still readable on the computer, so I gave it to a friend, where the card works flawlessly on her BB. Anyway, I've read around that the samsung cards have been solving this issue... Is this true? I am definelty staying away from SanDisk and Lexar as those are the two clear brands with problems. Anyway thanks for any help in advance!
I've been running a 32gb PNY SD card for months. Bought when I had my S2 then used it in my S3, did have an isuue with it on my S3 when I made a backup of the rom I was using but was able to completely restore it. Put it in my Note 2 when I got it back in April all has been good so far.

The red/grey sandisk cards in 8, 16, 32 and 64 gig capacities run fine. Rocking the 64 at the moment.
I had read somewhere a few months back that the Sandisk cards had issues with getting hot and failing but if I remember right it was the black class 10 onesthat where 16gb and higher. Something about them not being able to handle the faster read/write speeds in the S3 and probaly in the Note 2. I'm very happy with my class 10 32gb PNY.
