[Q] Change the brightness in the notification bar

My buddy has a Samsung Fascinate. Whatever ROM/theme he is running, he can do something pretty cool with the notification bar. Basically, he touches the notification bar, and without pulling it down, can slide his finger back and forth to manually adjust the brightness. Can't do that by default on the Inc.
Any thoughts?
if you've rooted and installed a new ROM onto your phone, most have the ability to customize the notification power widget stuff..
As far as I can remember (I haven't used stock stuff since August-ish) Sense doesn't have any widgets in the notification bar...which is dumb

Notification Widget Toggles

Im running Codename rom and im wondering if theres a way to edit the notification toggle widgets in the drop down bar? Is this rom specific or is there a mod i can flash to get them how i want/add data/flashlight toggle as well?

[Q] Any way to get rid of the 4.1.1 brightness slider?

Is there any way to get rid of the 4.1.1 brightness slider?
I use an app to control my brightness. Like the app a lot better.
Would love to get more real-estate in my pull-down menu that the brightness slider is taking up.
I did a lot of googing and couldn't figure it out.
But I did find a new theme package for JB 4.1.1 that has an option to get rid of the brightness slider. And the theme is pretty incredible and totally customizable:

[MOD][Request] Hide the Statusbar in Stock Jelly Bean Lockscree

Is there any mod/tweak or way to hide status-bar in stock Jelly bean Lock screen. I know I can use a third-party lock screen to do this but is it possible to do it on stock lock-screen.
Thanks
