Hi guys
I got my korean G and discovered that the screen has some grids on it
Its patterned and seems like some PCB or some slmilar things
I don't know how to explain in English
its quite noticeable when under the sun or when watching the screen under light
you wont notice if you use the phone normally but when the distance is like 15cm you will then see the pattern on the screen
anyone facing this problem with US G or korean G or Japanese G?
Thx for reply in advance
This is a touch sensor.
All phones has it.

I know the mon has sensor
but I suppose we shouldn't be able to see it right?
I don't see anyone talking about this issue
even for other phones with/without ips mon no one talks about this
maybe its the problem of my device?
It's true that I won't notice it in normal use
and the mon is actually performing very very well
but when I go outdoor the grids appear and I can say it's quite noticable
Well, its visible on any device in certain conditions, like direct sunlight.
Its normal.
And it cant be issue of only yours unit, cause in Optimus G the touch sensor is integrated into the display, not an additional layer over it.
Listen to me. That grid you see is normal. Everybody has it. Meaning if you bought 100 Optimus G, all 100 will have it. I have it. My wife phone has it. My friend phone has it. Your phone has it.

Thx for the advice
I can stay with the grids as long as i don't intently look at them
and I just found another problem
the little hole for opening sim card slot is not as smooth as other holes (e.g. the small holes on top and bottom)
i am not sure if thats a defect of my device but I think thats quite likely
any advice on this?
Hey guys I'm coming from the LG g2 (TMO) to a brand new TMO Note 3!
LOOKS
The LG g2 does have it's pros:
Nice dark pattern on the back
Front looks sleek
Slightly curved from the back to fit the Palm
Cons:
Heavy
Nothing to give it a wow factor
LG logo in the middle of the bottom of the screen
Note 3
Pros:
"Leather" backing
Silver frame
Physical home button
Light weight
Cons:
Easy to drop
Dust collects around the frame near the screen
Performance
G2 pros:
No lag
Smooth game play (asphalt 8)
I don't know how to explain this but I can tell the performance goes down to save battery life but it still runs fine.
Cons:
Multitasking games crashes
Battery life dies down quickly if playing performance heavy games
Note 3
Pros:
Easily over clocked
Smooth gaming
Multi tasking between email, games, internet
Camera
G2 pros;
Good under dark lighting without using flash
Colors are near original of the actual area of the picture
Cons:
The worst part of the phone, LAG
Tries to focus a lot on it's own
Note 3 pros:
Good under bright lighting
Enhanced colors
HUGE number of options like sport, best face, etc.
Cons:
Since it's so light it's hard to keep the phone still so pictures come out a bit weird
Battery life
G2 pros: stays at 100% for a while
Battery saver is better than the more's
Bigger than the s4 battery
Cons:
Can not keep up after passing 70%
Gets really hot
Can't take it out
Note 3 pros:
HUGE battery
Doesn't get very hot
Can pull it out
Cons:
Battery life Is a bit up and down (stays at some number then drops instantly)
Dies out fast at less than 35%
Wish the g2 had an SD card slot otherwise 32GB was good enough for me.
Screens are a bit hard to compare but I have to admit the screen size and estate are better on the note 3. The g2 still has a nice screen but it's a bit darker than the g2 at max brightness. And it does have nice detailing In the little spots that help out.
I'm not saying I didn't like the g2 it was a great phone but I honestly believe Samsung out did themselves with this.
Hope I helped you guys in some way!

I dont know why my tablet screen isnt like my g2 and i mean white areas and colours... Not the ppi
When im putting the G2 near to my tablet screen it looks like crap especially the white areas. Is that a cheap display?
You are right, the G Pad's screen color's are way off, too yellowish...
You can try screen adjuster to fix it, and I think Infected's version of CM 11 had corrected screen values that look good (you can change the screen values by yourself in CM 11 anyway)

Certain kernels do adjust things as well
I flashed aic 6.0 with red kernel and it seems waaay better
RedKernel does make quite a difference.
Hi guys,
Are there any G3 users who upgraded to the G4? I am having second thoughts on upgrading, so I would like your opinion as well.
G3 user here. I won't be upgrading to G4 anytime soon. Leather back sure looks nice but I wouldn't go for real leather since there are reports of the corners wearing off (see Michael Fisher's video from Pocketnow). Quantum Display is also nice; brighter and more saturated display than the G3. I only use mine mostly indoors so I'm still cool with it. The G4's manual camera mode is awesome tho but I think the great devs here can port it to our G3
Got the G4 for testing and currently a G3 owner, its definitely better (display - find it to be a good improvement to G3, general performance - much snappier than G3, including camera performance)
But, I don't find the improvements worthwhile enough to upgrade to a G4.

If your main concern for upgrading your phone is the stupid leather back (which, btw, you don't need to use. It comes with a plastic one as well) then that's ridiculous. Each phone is different FYI. I've seen more reports of people on here who've had the phone for a 1-3 weeks and not an issue.

I'm actually thinking of either getting G4 or a Nexus 6. I hate to admit it but I get easily bored with my phone. If I get a G4 and it's almost the same as my G3, then I might regret it.

Quite a few selling points compared to the Nexus 6:
IR blaster
SUPER DUPER camera
Those two are my main points. Also, keep in mind that the Nexus 6 is 6", while the G4 is 5.5" - it's easier to hold in one hand. Hopefully the camera isn't all the hyp though. I'm coming from a DSLR - a Nikon D90, and hopefully will replace the DSLR with a phone. Not really sure how that will work.
By the way, the G3 and the Nexus 6 both run very warm - the G4 supposedly doesn't do that since it runs on a 6 core chip, so less thermal throttling. I also recall my G2 getting VERY hot to the touch when I watch videos.

Considering that the D90 I was using is from 2008, I would hope that technology has gotten better for the mobile series. I saw some videos from a few reviewers, comparing them with the Canon EOS series cameras and they were unable to tell the difference unless zoomed all the way in on a 16MP image. I think that's good enough!

Well considering, flash and lens swap out alone never will have that ability with a phone

You are 100% correct on that, but most images taken at night shouldn't be used with flash, since it destroys the background. While you can swap flashes and lens, most amateurs stick with a set of wide lens - and rarely do people carry different flashes around. I guess it's really dependent on your usage, but I don't take night pics/indoor pics with flash. And it's interesting that the camera on the G4 has such a large aperture that it matches a lot of the decent lens for DSLRs. With a large apeture, the shutter speed can be lowered without having to bump the ISO up, reducing the need for a flash.

Flash should be used indoor, night, day :highfive:
Looking for G4, i have G3. not sure it worth it though, camera is super big, phone is faster u can feel it easily and does look a bit better, other than that...
Anyone that done it and happy?
G3 Owner here, will upgrade to the G4 as soon as my business account rep gets it done.
I have the G3 for sometime going to get my G4 on Monday.
My G4 arrives today, and currently have a g3 that i'm very happy with but my wife wants it, as her z1 is looking a bit worse for wear.
hoping the G4 is a worthy upgrade, but to be honest i dont have any real issues with my G3.
if the camera is any faster to load and focus then I'll be very happy, as the g3 is quick but I want instant !
I have a G3, and pre-ordered my black leather G4 on Verizon this morning!
Better screen, louder speaker, leather back, slightly curved and a better front design IMO. If you're in the US, the free goodies you get from lg.
right now i have both the g3 and g4, and all i can say is g4 is way better in terms of performance compared to g3 camera is really superb! i love those bokeh shots, plus the low light shots; which cant be done on g3. however, it does warm a bit upon eccessive usage; but right now im still using my good 'ol g3 as g4 doesnt have root yet , and most of my root apps (adaway, titanium backup, etc) will not yet work with my g4. hopefully root will be out sooner...

I upgraded from the G2 (had it only a month because I switched carriers and knew I was getting the G3--used it to tie me over) to the G3 and got my G4 on Friday. Loving it so far. The leather is nice, but I'm worried about it's durability. I'm worried about touching it with dirty hands or laying it down somewhere where it could get dirty. The subtle curved screen is awesome, the colors pop (and I keep my brightness at around 15%). I replaced the launcher with Novo. I miss the smart screen feature but found an app replacement on Google Play. It may be a subtle upgrade, but why fix something that isn't broke. Unlike HTC who does subtle upgrades, but still can't make a camera worth the price tag. For most, battery life and cameras are two big things they look for in a new phone.
Hi everyone, the glass that covers the camera of my mi 10t was a little bit shattered after a fall, but was working fine most of the time, only in some night shots was showing a weird phantom light. So I decided to buy a new glass and replace. But once I changed it the camera is not working well and is all blurry. The cameras and the glass are clean, I don't understand why this happens. Someone knows what happens and how to fix it?
Check the camera contacts. You may have partially dislodged a ribbon cable etc.
High G impacts can cause internal damage including chipsets. Always use a good case to help tame the G loading spike from impacts.
