Using Titanium Backup I have frozen the following apps and remained stable:
Amazon Kindle 0.9.6
AT&T Code Scanner 1.0
AT&T FamilyMap 2.0
AT&T Hot Spots 0.955
AT&T Navigator 1.0
Books 1.5.2
Get HD Games 1.0.0
Live TV 1.0
MOG Music 1.0.2
myAT&T 1.0
Polaris Office 3.0.3132.0 (I have QuickOffice purchased anyway)
Qik Lite 0.1.18
SmartShare 2.0
Social+ 3.0.200
Yellow Pages 2.3.5
YP 1.0
I'm using ADW Launcher EX instead of the regular launcher, and post-reboot Auto Killer Memory Optimizer shows me at about just over 500MB free RAM. Plus the app drawer is cleaner and the phone feels a little snappier
(No, I'm not using this app to kill apps, just to get a report on Services/Processes/RAM.)
(Yes, I realize that number will go down as things get cached, etc. - but I needed something regular to measure against)
I also freezed:
AT&T Address Book
City ID
Dracula
Featured Apps
Home screen tips
LG keyboard
Market Feedback Agent
Zynga Poker HD
Wi-Fi Share (couldn't figure out how to use it)
P.S.
The AT&T Hot Spots are useful if you have hotspots around (airports, starbucks, mcdonalds, etc), plus connecting to WiFi saves battery ALOT.
don't forget ya got smartshare on yer phone after ya freeze it, app is pretty sweet. i use myatt too.
i haven't figured out what cityid is, what is that?
i froze

i uninstalled everything i could/wanted (family finder, etc) via the apps manager.

I didn't replace it with anything. Att Address book simply adds list of ATT phone numbers to your address book

the only issue with this setup is that you are not in control how often google checks your 6 other accounts, it could be 5 minutes, could be 50.
I prefer push mail, which Nitro lacks of by default unless it's exchange mail.

It's probably the stock Launcher. Which means it is ONLY safe to freeze IF you have another launcher installed that is stable. Otherwise on boot you're going to be in a lot of trouble.

A word of warning about freezing att address book. If you freeze it, you may not be able to add contacts from the phone (i am speaking from my personal experience, if someone could confirm that would be great), even if you do even have any contacts with att address book. I think it is integrated in and breaks something in the stock contacts app that freezes the whole process because when I try to add contacts it freezes on a gray screen. When I unfreeze the app, adding contacts works again.
figured i'd bump this with an update.
IMO, freezing all this shiz has done more for perf and batt life than Juice Defender or Ram manager.

Sorry guys, noob here, but I thought I should add my feedback to this list - I froze nearly every app listed here, (except for a few that I use, like calculator) had setCPU installed, and my phone is now acting really laggy. I'm not really sure what to attribute this to. The root? Frozen apps? I uninstalled SetCPU and tried to defrost the apps I had frozen (both with a batch and individually), but it won't let me. I tried making a copy of the frozen app, then deleting, then re-installing the copied version (suggested on another XDA thread), but that does not work. It just hangs when deleting as well. Can someone else verify that Titanium Backup is defrosting / deleting / restoring as expected on the Nitro?
Another weird side effect is that my internal storage says its almost full, which is crazy considering I never installed a new app after freezing those apps, and last time I checked I had plenty of space. Is it possible for Titanium Backup to be caching somewhere other than the SD? It's pretty weird. I really don't have many apps installed. Also (and perhaps this is due to the low system space, or specifically attributed to a frozen app) But my video playback is crazy laggy now.
Just thought I would post this to see if anyone else is getting weirdness after freezing apps.
setcpu caused similar issues on my phone. i uninstalled it and no more problems
I just factory reset (which I never did after root) and reinstalled setCPU and its working great. I even tested the HD videos again and they are now running smooth. Still a bit scared to start freezing apps again. For now I've just hidden them in launcher pro. Out of sight, out of mind I guess.

I had issues unfreezing Address Book which I did initially without thinking. After I froze it and realized you couldn't add contacts I tried unfreezing it. However, it wasn't on my list of frozen apps or backed up apps. I had to to a factory reset to bring it all back.
So far I haven't had any problems freezing/unfreezing, yet I did not play with many unfreezing apps. However I did notice on some backups (especially if they came from different phone), TB would freeze during restore, but in most cases it turned out to be due to dev mode disabled in the settings (thanks LG for disabling it for us each time we use any options other then "PC connect" when phone connected to PC). So as long as I have dev mode enabled, I don't recall having any problems with TB.
Speaking of SetCPU, I also noticed lagginess with default settings, but it mostly only visible right after reboot. After phone been used for a while it's smooth as iPhone (ok, almost...ok, not really, but close).
This also make me think, that Nitro by default keeps CPU at 1.5ghz at all times, it would explain lagginess if it has to jump from 192mhz to 1.5ghz as per SetCPU default. Maybe if you set min and max to 1.5ghz will it still be more laggy then with no SetCPU?
sorry if i double post this. searched but couldn't find a similar thread.
what bloatware/apps have you removed from your HOX, and have any consequences occurred? please share your experiences..
i`m on leedroid, so some bloatware have been removed by developer already.
i removed all twitter apps, no occurrences yet.. used titanium backup ofcourse.

you can just disable all the apps you want through settings-apps as well mate if you do not use TB. Plus disable all bloatware if you are on a branded phone and i would also say disable google maps, facebook if you do not use and even the email client from HTC. I use gmail app from market hence why i would disable that.
I was thinking of making a thread and giving battery tips on how to save more juice and what apps to remove...maybe i should do that and see if it helps people out.
Any apps that you do not use i would either disable through settings or freeze with TB or unistall them..I could make a list on a thread if you want in the next couple of days

only disable it really if you do not use it. i have disabled it as i barely use it my friend. from what i can see i would even freeze or uninstall friend stream as i do not use that either...there are so many i have not even had a look at...by having TB and if you was to uninstall all the system apps you do not use you are making your own Lite rom by doing so
We could all share what we have disabled and compare results too.

if you go into settings-apps-all apps you can disable all the apps you want. of course some system apps you can not, not sure which but you can pretty most of them.
Thanks, done
Just installed Autostarts, hoping to take care of some of the wakeups that are killing my battery.
What have you disabled from autostarting?

I disabled everything except email, calendar. Even maps. Why the hell do I need maps running background? I am not using check-in apps or such...

Well not exactly all... you cant disable all. Its just common sense. Leave the system apps like phone, contacts, clock etc.... I disabled almost all 3rd part apps just left the ones that I want it to start such as beats audio, lux light etc...
Ive rooted my device and installed one of the 4.2 jelly beans with gapps. On my s3 deleting a page is seriously eaasy but there is no "menu" button in this device. I also dont want to install other programs like ADW. Everything Ive google says you need to be rooted or use those programs, but I cant for the life of me figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Which ROM did you actually flash. Easiest thing is probably get holo launcher HD or nova launcher. A lot more customizable

Im using this now: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2051331
but it just seems silly that with all the "tweaking" you can do with a plain jane 4.2 jelly bean that this isn't an option. I like to have as few programs running as I can an installing a separate launcher kinda defeats the purpose, at least it seems that way to me.
You would just move the new launcher to system apps and delete the stock one.
I'm gonna sound like an idiot here, but how d you move the Lew launcher to the system like that ?

Easiest way is titanium backup if you have the paid one or root explorer do you have either.

Here go to play store get link2sd when you open it you will see your
apps listed. Then look for the launcher you installed tap it then you will see actions tap that then you will see convert to sys app tap that follow prompts then reboot. When you feel u like the launcher delete the stock one. Just make sure you have a Back Up
Edit: forgot to tell you after your done you can delete link2sd
What's the issue with all of the "Screen Overlay Detected" warnings I'm getting??
Every time I install certain apps or use one of them for the first time, I am required to grant it permissions. This isn't a problem...I think these fine grained permissions started around Lollipop.
However, with the HTC 10 stock ROM (rooted, S-off, etc), virtually every time I'm asked to grant a permission and then grant it, a "Screen Overlay Detected" warning comes up instructing me that I have to remedy this (by disabling this overlay in the offending app) before the permission can be granted.
Even though there are maybe 15 apps which are listed as having the ability to draw over other apps, in actuality, it is only one specific app that is the culprit (a rather obscure app called "Smart Taskbar). So...I have to go to the permissions for this app, disable this screen overlay ability, then return to the app that I had been launching do I can now grant the requested permissions, then go back and re-enable the screen overlay feature in the Smart Taskbar app (something it does need..otherwise it will crash next time I open it or on a reboot).
Question #1: I have used this "Smart Taskbar" app for my last 4 phones... Why now all of a sudden is this screen overlay warning popping up incessantly??
Question #2: a fix that works half the time is a "ignore screen overlay warning" xposed module[], but the module warns users to "Know What They Are Doing" before installing it. I can't imagine any serious problems occurring if I use this module. Anyone know of any risks with a module that suppresses this warning?
Thank you!
YES I have the same problem. I however went to settings and denied all apps permission to draw over other apps (so there shouldnt be an overly) yet it still shows this error. I'm interested in a fix as well. I assumed it was fb messenger but apparently not.
---------- Post added at 11:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:20 PM ----------
Also the risk of the module would be that malicious apps would be able to potentially get storage permission without your authorization. https://www.google.com/amp/www.xda-...h-android-marshmallow-and-nobody-noticed/amp/
I just don't know what app would be causing this.
[EDIT] Oh. I guess I answered your question. I don't know why it's happening to me though

Well the fact that it is happening to me now when the only thing that's different over the past 5 years is the hardware (the phone) and I'm guessing this HTC version of marshmallow (although I used a custom Rom with my M8 which had ported over a bunch of stuff from the 10 stock ROM)...And now it's to you even if you have no apps given privileges to draw over another app..
Definitely a bug of some kind.
