Black Notes ROM disappearing audio (no audio) - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Hello everybody,
i'm using the "Black Notes" ROM, version "Last Page" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1483072) and everything is working well. It's a customized Gingerbread stock, with some improvement, a great battery life and good stability.
I just have a little problem: sometimes the sound goes away and come back only if i reboot.
Everyting is mute: ringtone, notifications, media and wake up alarm.
Sometimes the sound comes back even without rebooting.
Anyone has something to suggest to fix this? I don't want to change ROM only for this minor issue...

Nobody has an idea?
I've discovered that, while the notification/ringtone sound is disappeared, the media sound works, because i can hear a YouTube video.
I've also discovered that is not needed to reboot the phone; if i swith from "normal mode" to "silent mode" and back, the notification sound comes back.
The notification sound is and internal sound from the ROM (not an MP3)

BUMP!
Noone else experienced this?

this ROM is dead which mean the dev is gone. no more supported for everybODY

I was hoping someone had a similar problem, even in a different ROM.
Anyway, i'm gonna change ROM because i have to solve this issue.
Thank you.

Low volume problem since upgrade to 6.1

Hi,
I have recently upgraded to WM 6.1 and tested various ROMs.
One problem I came across is that on a phone conversation my voice can hardly be heard on the other side
Did anyone encounter this? Any idea what it may be?
Turn off WOW EFFECTS in setting...
I don't think I ever turned WOW EFFECTS on (at least not intentionally).
Where would I find this setting?
as I told you, in settings...
the personal tab.
i also have that problem. been plaguing me for a long long time.
Try a few diff types of roms but make sure they have
1. Start up animation disabled
2. SetAcousticparam in their config file
these 2 are absolutely essential, else your phone voice would be low.
though mine is more or less confirmed to be a hardware problem. if you flash the official HTC asia rom and still get this problem. yeah your case is like mine i guess. other then that, if you find out something else, do lemme know

1) done already
2) where is it?
ringtone volume is very low in 6.1 (19209).
well, with PDAViet Rom I don't have WOW EFFECTS in my personal settings. However, I did find in the Artemis forum a small cab to deactivate the WOW Effects.
Since I installed it the problem is gone!
unfortunately that doesn't work for me. i've tried mine with freshly installed cab files, even those from official HTC, with no WOW effects activated. still doesn't work.
Worst still it's a random problem. soemtimes it works, sometimes it dosen't... oh well..
do you have a2dp headset? I have PDAVIET ROM and bluetooth a2dp headset and every time i finish listening to music, turn off bluetooth i have no sound on my device. No alarms, reminders, ringtone, sms notyfications etc. Had this isue in Faria ROM too.

Sounds Stop Working

Searched in several forums but could not find anything, so apologies in advance if I missed it and please post the link.
Intermittently the sounds quit working for all alarms, events, phone, etc... I go into Sounds & Notifications to test and again, no sound. Soft reset corrects the issue, but it will come back again.
No extra media players installed, only the standard from the orignal ROM. I have Lotus Traveler installed which adds a sound event. On another PDA (Touch HD) I have BB Connect installed and it displays the same problem.
FWIW I have also seen this behavior on Kaisers and Touch HDs.
Thanks in advance for any ideas or, even better, a solution.
Sorry I can't help but I've had a similar problem. The slider sound doesn't work! Even after reset! Try changing it and still nothing! The rest of the sounds still works but they seems much quieter than normal! I don't think I've installed anything dodgy! Just seemed to happen! Any help would be great!
Thanks
same issue found in my Diamond as well. Maybe it's an issue in WinMo 6.1 in general
Actually, none of the sounds work! Just makes a noise when you change the volume! Soft reset still doesn't help!
Does anyone know what I could try please?
I have the same problem with my Touch Pro2. Sometimes suddenly the volume goes way down even though it shows its at its max. The volume is really soft and you cant hear much.
Also when I receive certain notifications I hear a small click which is proberly the first 0.01s of the notification sound it tries to play.
Count me in.....same here. Wonder, if it´s a hardware issue or a driver problem.....
Hoping for an official WM6.5 ROM soon...
Thanks for the feedback. I can tell you that this happens with AT&T Tilt running stock ROMs/WM6 too.
I am still searching for an answer and if I find one I will post it.

[Q] Buzzing noise with camera

When I open my camera app on Calkulin's latest rom themed with icecreamsandich 2.0 I get a buzzing sound that does not appear to be coming from the speaker. When I tap the screen, the sound goes away. Does anyone have any idea whats going on here?
happens to me too but on any rom i flash... kinda annoying but I just tap the phone and it stops...
seems to happen at random...
Happened to me also. Turned out that it only happened with a low battery. I do believe that the camera is modded to work even with the low battery which might be causing the noise. Hope this helps.
^hmm.. mine seems to do it at any battery level.... ill monitor closer and post back.
thanks J.M.
Mine doesn't do it at low battery but my wifes does or rather, use to. I think it's actually coming from the CMOS or at least that's where it seems to be coming from.
FIX: Using a file explorer click on the Camera.apk and install it like a normal app. Not sure why but doing it that way and letting it install like a system app update will fix the buzzing. This is my experience.

When im talking on the phone my notifcation ringer wont turn off at all.

So when im talking on the phone and i get a incoming text message or email you drag down the notification bar and it stops ringing NO not my phone it keeps going until the entire ring-tone is done. Normally this is not a problem when your ringtone is 1-3 seconds long BUT when your ringers is an entire minute+ long its a HUGE problem cause you cant hear what the person is is saying with loud music coming through the same speaker....Ive been keeping the tones short lately but this problem needs to be addressed......The only way for the music to stop is to let it play all the way through or restart the phone ive tried opening the message and i tried deleting the message nothing works but those 2 options can some1 help btw im on fd26 but this has been a problem since i can remember at least build fd19.
The issue appears to be that a ringtone has been assigned by default for notifications. If this is from a custom ROM load, it should be addressed (clearly) with the developer, not here in the Q/A section.
The only thing you can do to correct the problem for now is to change the notification sound for each app (and the default one as well) to a proper one.
im on a stock rom so im not sure if its a bug or just my phone issue.

Totally stock? You changed the notifications sounds and it's working correctly now isn't it?

[Q] Why can't I control my Desire's volume?

I'm really annoyed by the fact that I miss calls because the ringer volume was too low. But I have tried everything, and I mean everything, to try to correct that. You name the ringer volume locking app, I no doubt tried it. Tasker, etc. as well. None of them work at either locking the ringer volume at 100%, or raising it to 100% when a call comes in.
Since other people don't seem to have this problem.... I'm wonder, is it possible that the Manu kernel I install could be blocking something? Or what about the MIUI XJ ROM I got from here? Any other clues?!
When you're playing a music file without headphone, is the speaker giving loud sound then?
If yes, then your speaker is allright.
If no, plug in headphones and check the volume through your headphone. If the volume is also low there, then your amplifier is broken.

I use Volume Control app. But then again you said you tried every volume app there is.
Manu is not blocking anything as I've been with ManU kernel for a long while.
Try to change your ringtone. Some ringtones are louder than others.
Well, the problem has nothing to do with the choice of ringtone I'm using. If the volume is too low, I'm obviously not going to hear the phone, regardless of the volume of the ringtone.
TheRamon: I think you may have misunderstood the issue. It's not that the volume is low all the time. It's that it may have been turned down or off for various reasons, and I need the ringer vol to be 100% when a call comes in.
There are many apps that will do this, but absolutely none have worked properly on my Desire. So if we've ruled out the kernel, and others with Desires have managed to accomplish this through apps.... why am I not able to do the same?!
There is no particular indication anywhere that the phone is not working properly.
Have you ever flashed another rom to test?

No, I haven't. But that's because it's a big deal (for me, anyway) to do that. I have to go through hours and hours settings things back up similar to what I had. So I don't change ROMs too often. Truth be told, I never really had luck with any ringer volume lock app on the Desire, and that's 2 years looking. They all mess up in one way or another, making them unuseable. It's just that it seems to be even more the case since I installed MIUI XJ with the Manu kernel. But I don't know. There may be no connection. All I know is that other Desire users have no (or little) problems with the ringer lock apps and I do!

Im not really asking you to switch rom. What im saying is nandbackup your current rom and flash a different one. Check if the volume issues disappear or not. Since you are using an AOSP based rom, my suggestion is to flash a Sense based rom and see if the issue remains. At least you'll have an idea if its just a rom related issue or not and determine the next troubleshooting step from there. It will be difficult to find a solution if you don't try to isolate where the problem is coming from.

Ok, I actually did switch ROMS.... I'm on the latest stock MIUI GB ROM for the Desire, after wiping everything, and all stock apps. I just downloaded and tried a couple of locking apps; Ring Lock, Smart Volume.... they don't work! Smart Volume buzzes when I change the volume, but it happily allows me to do so!
So now I'm wondering if its MIUI itself that is preventing volume locking. Yet I doubt it, because I think we'd have heard that from MIUI users. Each volume control app seems to have its own reason for not working. Some will lock volume settings with each other, but still allow you to change the ringer volume. Some will have dialog boxes go into an infinite loop if you try to change the ringer volume. Some will vibrate a notification when you change the ringer vol., but will still allow you to do so. Even in Tasker, I set a profile to change the brightness and the volume upon ring... it changes the brightness, but not the volume. Since each app has a different type of failure, one would logically conclude that it's the apps that are simply faulty.
But then there's the irrefutable fact that while some find these apps faulty (sometimes for the same reason I did), I'm guessing not everyone with a Desire has been unable to get the ringer volume to stay locked. So I still don't know if it's an inherent problem with the Desire. But if it's due to MIUI, I'll have to live with it. Because... I like MIUI a bit more than I hate the fact that I can't control the ringer volume!
Update: I just discovered this, so I've yet to confirm.... but I just tried an escalating ring app.... and it actually worked on my Desire. I left the phone on low, the app started low and took the volume to max. That means, the volume is/may be controllable on this device, by a 3rd party. Just before this, I started messing about in Superuser, looking at the tons of logs it creates. Turns out, by default, Superuser was not giving full permissions to my apps - specifically the right to make calls and related etc. I set all such.apps to full permissions.
I will try with a ring locker app tomorrow (but even the escalating ring app is actually perfect for my needs!)..
