Dear Techies,
I am very new to HTC (was using Xperia).
I am having HTC One X T-Mobile CID T-MOB005, Build version 3.16.110.4 JB. I have an issue, I could not read Tamil language entire line as it is not wrapping into next line. I have attached the screenshot for your reference. I installed a font through ROM Toolbox. Please help me resolving this. Sorry if my question so silly, but really not knowing anything abt HTC.
Thanks in advance.

another missing feature in this upgrade, while i used to start typing the sms recipient name in the To: field in SMS\MMS , an automatic list of matching contacts used to appear and i select the desired name directly... I lost this feature too.

New modified installer was created to enable users to install all packages to any HTC device (regardless of device CID or Arabizer used) http://www.ce4arab.com/vb7/showpost.php?p=1054009&postcount=36

Have you used the modified package pointed to in post #4
I am now downloading 'TSD_HD_ADDON_INSTALL_FIXED_JAN7.ZIP'. I hope that's the right one. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much. The installer works. And now I have the Quran running on my HD. May you be given a MIGHTY and PERPETUAL reward. Thanks again.
I get the message "your license for running mobidiv products on this device has expired..." Yet, there doesn't appear any obvious way to install a license/key. The citglobal.mobi website isn't much help.
Anyone else had this problem?
Thank you a lot.

Check out "WIKI"
Salam Brother Taiseer; can I install this app. on my HTC HD?
Thanks
Mazen
I would love to use this package, since my parents are going to move to SA
This would come in handy when I pay them a visit
kbnordin and taiseer:
The software that you downloaded, does it give arabic support? My wife wants the Quran and prayer schedule on her phone as well as the ability to recieve sms messages in arabic? I bought her the phone from the UK and HTC will not let me install the mobidiv package that is available....is there a solution for this?
I feel like a nitwit, but I am not sure what to do with the files....there are about 6 cabinet files that downloaded and when I open the Windows Mobile Device Center and go to install new programs, they are not located there...when I click on one of the files it opens another folder...when I click on setup it asks me where I want to extract but my computer will not extract anything...
any help please??!!

Hi bro
if you can read arabic, here is the two main topics foryou to get the "Arabic Support" so that you can read arabic and receives arabic SMS.
the first one by TSD:
The thread also contains the Arabic Bundle of applications (Dictionary, Quran, Prayers, Calendar). Make sure you read before u start downloading or installing anything
http://www.ce4arab.com/vb7/showthread.php?t=137802
The second one is by taiseer999
it's a perfect one too.

Hey Dr. Basem:
Unfortunately I cannot read arabic. My wife can but she doesn't understand how these things work. I downloaded the files from the URL taiseer provided:\
http://www.mediafire.com/?jvxzkz1ngzn
So, then I unzipped the folder and I have about 6 cabinet files...
I am just unsure about what to do next. Does this require that I backup the phone entirely before I install?
Do I install these things just like any other software, through the Windows Mobile Device Center?
When installed, I/She just wants to be able to view arabic text but not have everything displayed in arabic.
The last point can be addressed later, once the stuff is installed....I just want to get the software installed...
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Changing the fonts will help to recognize Arabic letters, but it will display words as disconnected letters!
We need to know how can we edit the kernel and libs to solve this issue.
I read several threads about reshape letters to connect letters in single word but unfortunately I didn't know how to start
If anyone knew how to start developing Android please help us.
Regards
try morelocale from market

Hi Guys,
Is there any chance to get Hebrew Fonts support on the deisre. I dont want the whole OS to be in Hebrew. Accessing Hebrew Websites, and reading heabrew mails/sms would be just perfect and more the anough.
Is it possible?
thx
Please keep me informed in case of success - I have the same interest
I promise the same in my turn
I only got Hebrew on my G1 by rooting it. Then you could upload modified fonts with the Hebrew characters included.
I guess it's the same here, get root and then upload fonts. Hopefully, rooting is on the way!
I don't know any other way of adding the Hebrew fonts.
I apologize......meant for general.
Moved to proper forum and re-opended for discussion.
In case you haven't heard, you can now root the Desire and apply Hebrew fonts:
tinyurl . com / desireroot
I've rooted but haven't tried the fonts yet.
Thanks Mikey for moving the thread back in right place.
Regarding the fonts.
I have also rooted my device and flashed an update with hebrew fonts. Works like a charm now, finally!
If someone needs further info, just let me know.

Hi
I have the r1-hebrew-desire-signed zip file, can you write what should be done to apply the fonts, after the root is done.
excellent news
I should get my Desire on the 12/5.
Will play with it for a while then root and apply the Hebrew fonts.
But, I have a question. Why on earth do we have to root the phone for that?
Why there isn't any official languages support?
If its done in order to reduce the ROM size they can give it in additional package
It looks like HTC/Google are loosing market here (although we fans will continue to buy them)
I heard that Android 2.2 will have this support but as I know HTC, we will get update after a long while (Hero gets its update only now after 1/2 a year or mor...)
Although im sure we will find a lots of modified ROMS here and on MODACO that will let us do what ever you want.

Hi,
where do you get the Hebrew fonts? can you post a link?
Thanks
Hebrew on Desire without root: Install the "Il News Droid" app from the market. As a side effect you get Hebrew fonts installed.
I'm almost certain I was able to view a site in Hebrew the other day on my Desire. Using just your standard desire with official 2.2 update.

As a new use I am not allowed to embed links, so you will have to c&p.

I have a korean english htc desire hd given ti me by my friend and since i use it here in the philippines, i have 90 sms character limit instead of 160. Any work around here? I have a feeling.it is about the keyboard and kanguage but i cant set it to like that.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
I have a same question for this, how to make it to be 160 characters?
Have you solved the problem?
I use HTC with Olleh service previously, however since I want to take it to Indonesia, I need the 160 characters....
This answer maybe old for you two but my solution is to flash another ROM. I have increased the SMS character limit to 160 with an American ROM (and it still works well in Korea). I'm still trying to figure out which setting exactly control this sort of thing in Android
i ve exactly same problem of limited sms character ie 90 only on my htc desire HD with Korean Olleh rom installed ,,,
its gingerbread 2.3.5 sense 3.0
If flashing a new rom is the only solution to this problem than pls tell me do i really need to downgrade the firmware before flashing custom rom.
and plz guide me the exact sequence of doing it as should i need to downgrade first then set the phone in s-off mode and then root the device ...
plz guide as i am new to all this ..... i ve tried to go though the information available regarding this but still i dont feel confident about doing it.
plz tell me some easy way to do all this ,, as m really confused
Regards,
BABAR
