Hey everyone,
I'm new to the whole flashing phones thing (I've recently had the guts to try it out) and I was wondering if it was possible to flash the "Jelly Beans 10" ROM originally from the Verizon Galaxy S3 thread on my Rogers Galaxy S3. This is the first ROM I have considered trying out and all the features look pretty cool, but looking around the forums it seems I can only flash roms that are specific to my phone(?) so I was wondering if it indeed is compatible or not. Most likely, NO...
The Verizon model has different wireless module and it would not work. I wouldn't risk it.

Oh okay thanks a lot Do you happen to know of any ROMs that are similiar to the Jelly Beans ROM that are compatable with a Rogers device?

The roms you want to install are the i747 one these are the at&t rom that work with your phone, be sure to check your model number to be sure. yours will probably be i747m the "m" doesn't really matter that I s just for the canadian variants, there are a lot of roms out there for your device, just make sure you read the reviews and follow flashing inductions properly. Has anyone managed to get wifi tether working on a Galaxy Nexus with 4.2.2? Since the latest update (I'm running Verizon's version), wifi tether stopped working again. I was running treve's 3.2 pre version which worked on 4.1 but not anymore. I've tried tweaking the different settings on the 11_22 mod but to no avail.
Any tips???

This addition by mwalt did the job for me. For info purposes, I'm on a VZW GNex running mwalt's ROM (also on the same page). Don't know if this will work on any other ROM, but I'd guess that the closer to stock, the better the chance.

I use wifi tether on 4.2.2 CM10.1 and it works.

I had the same issue (using stock OTA 4.2.2 on VZW GNEX, rooted) - I used the patch in reply #109 in this thread and works perfectly now:

This is stock Jelly Bean directly from LG. It is KDZ format which requires you to flash.. There are tons of information on how-to's .. please don't ask me how to install this IMAGE etc.. I'm simply giving you guys the file and providing you access.. thank you and enjoy..

I already released JB Stock Port a long time ago for all you guys plus ATT.. This is basically the same only that it's official. not much more. I don't have the time but this is good for other if they want to start doing some fancy releases.. I don't have the time and it's hard when you are a 1 man team lol..

you can download a flashable ROGERS modem HERE. .. there are plenty of forums that will guide you.. please keep this thread clean.. thanks
Only want to add that it's rootable via zvb/zv9 rooting method. So simply follow the guide in android development subforum.

Rogers OTA is out this morning, for me at least.
Applied it and kept root no issues. A publicly known root method also works.
Does it break root?
I never updated from Rogers E97110D, but rooted/unlocked via FreeGee. Does anyone know if applying this update to the Rogers E97110D will break root?
Also, since this link is from LG directly, is it stock without bloatware, or does it have all the Rogers craptaculous apps?

Strat has been busy. Among other things, he has been helping in getting the leaked 4.3 usable. Intergalatic4.0 will come in due time.

Good deal - I'm anxious to go to Android 4.3, but I really like Intergalactic, so I think I'll wait for that.
You should try loserskaters Rom. It's pretty good, and as mentioned, Strat has been working with loser to get it running

+1 on 4.3. As good as 3.0 is, no reason not to try loserskater's rom. For a stock leak, it's real nice. A couple of more days of running it, and I'll put it on the wife's S3.

there are 4.3 leaks for the AT&T I747 S3 but they have so much bugs, issues and problems that is not worth upgrading since at&t is releasing the official 4.3 on November 11 if am correct, i would advice you to stay on 4.1.2
plus i heard that DATA does not work

Not necessarily true. I ran the leaked version with no issues what so ever. Everything worked as it should have.

Its great to know that it works for some people with no problems but I have too much variable things to lose, so I would rather hang in there with 4.1.2 for the time being.
The second at&t releases the 4.3 update am in, plus pretty much wait for some tweaked, debloated rom for stock touchwiz 4.3

So tempted to flash the leak but its too risky so again am gonna wait for AT&T to release the official 4.3 firmware then Devs can take over THEN I can flash and do wateva I want without feeling obligated

If you're the i747m model you'll run into issues with your modems. (No modem support for Canadian devices)
But if you have a i747 you'll be fine. Just flash the modems that are in the thread for the leaked 4.3 version.

i have E980 AT&T and to be honest i upgraded to lollipop with one of the customs rom but i didnt like it, and i didnt like the stock at&t rom so when i saw that there are some threads about the e980H stock that it is better than the at&t rom i tried it but i was shocked that it was jelly bean! do you know where can i get STOCK e980H kitkat ?

This is the link the e980h only difference is the modem. You have to be on ATT server to get e980h update use that file to flash back to stock then check the update option in the phone

This link is not for the E980H, it is the stock At&t Rom v20g, so unfortunately you didnt answer my question,,,, but thanks anyway,,,,

Yes u r right, i have tried that one that u posted here but the problem is that i faced a couple of problems, when.i rooted my phone after flashing that rom and tried to instal the recovery on it i couldn't do that using the (freegee) app and it gave me that your phone.is not supported, and i tried many ways to do that then i got an error when.i wanna enter the recovery mode saying. (Secure error cause boot certification verify) something like that so i went back to stock at&t that you already listed it in the same thread ( the tot file) and as i mentioned before i hated the at&t firmware but i couldn't do anything else :-/
