[Q] Seeing reminders with svoice - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Should read... Setting reminders
Does anyone know why when I tell svoice to set a reminder it tells me this device does not support this feature?
I'm pretty sure it does from all my reading and searching the threads I've found several talking about setting reminders and the one have mentioned being told the device does not support this feature.

[Q] Modifying RSS feeds

I have added Engadget and The Register to my RSS feeds.
Has anyone any idea if/how one can modify the xml files or whatever it is so that a custom icon could be associated with a particular subscription?
I am sure it is possible on some level because the preloaded RSS options have unique icons. I'd love to implement the Engadget and Register icons and any future RSS feeds I decide to add....would make the incoming alerts much more quickly recognizable.
While we're at it.....I've had this phone for 2 weeks and on ONE incoming call, the notification of an incoming call appeared in the ticker, and only the ticker. I don't recall what I was doing when that happened, and cannot seem to reproduce this no matter how many test calls I try. Was this a fluke? I'd actually love for all my incoming calls to appear in the ticker....since I usually hit ignore anyway! Anyone know how this is supposed to work?
sorry for posting two mostly unrelated questions

[Q] Declining Call with Text using Google Voice

Hey guys,
I'd love to make use of the text response feature when someone calls me but there doesn't seem to be a Google Voice intent or option anywhere is there?
I heavily use my Google Voice number to the point I don't give out my cell phone number! I just tested ignoring a call with the text option and the text came from my cell phone number.
Has anyone figured out how to get it to use Google Voice? I have successfully configured texting from contacts/people and even voice actions because both had intents that popped up but nothing for the decline call feature.
Same issue here. Searched around, haven't been able to find an answer yet. I apologize if I missed something - Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This may be something I'm interested in for future use.

Anybody?
Sorry, just trying to bump this thread. It seems ridiculous to me that Google would release a flagship Android device that doesn't allow full integration with another major product so naturally related, Google Voice - especially considering how hard they've been pushing integration with Google+. (I'd love VOIP to be activated too, but that's another can of worms...)
Plus, this seems like a pretty simple issue since GV can be made the default for SMS quite easily elsewhere in ICS (and Gingerbread, Froyo) as the OP states. Hopefully I'm just mistaken, thanks for the help!

Why is Google Voice Doing This?? Two Phones Now!!

Not specifically related to the Nexus, but, on my previous Droid X and now my Galaxy Nexus, Google Voice (I have the inbox widget on my homescreen) always logs my missed calls in the Voice inbox and has a "missed" number for each in there. I have to go in and manually delete these every time.
Yet, in the Google Voice website settings for my account, I do not have " Place missed calls in the inbox" checked!! What the hell?
Can somebody please tell me why this isn't functioning right and how I might be able to make it stop? So annoying.
Thank you.
Well, simple issue isolation tells you it isn't your Galaxy Nexus, since it also happened on a different device.
As a result this really isn't the best place to get help about it. Have you tried the GV Support Forums?
https://groups.google.com/a/googleproductforums.com/forum/#!forum/voice
Yeah I don't think that's a good place to post. Some posts from two + years ago have less than 10 views LOL.
Plus, I searched there and no one else posted this issue yet.

[Q] Need help finding the impossible

First of all Good Day to all.
The reason I'm here is out of frustration. I have read this site for a long time, but never joined. I'm coming here because there are a lot of very knowledgeable people that may have the answer that I have been looking for and up until now can not find.
I NEED an app that seems to be impossible to find, at lease for me. What I need is an app that will allow a selected group of people to call AND text with notifications without other notifications sounding. I want a "set it forget it" app that once set it will do this automatically every night.
The Note 4 has a "Blocking mode" which would be perfect if it would allow both SMS notifications and call notifications to come through for a selected group of people without having to check all notifications to come through.
I have sons that seem to never call and only text when checking in. I set my phone to go silent at around 12 and come back on at 6am. With this, calls will come through for my favorites but in order for text sounds to come through I have to allow all sounds to come through which defeats the silent mode.
Is there such a thing? Is this impossible to do? Am I doing something wrong in settings?
Can you please advise? Thanking you in advance.
Google tasker block calls and text. It may work for you. Did a quick read and some had made profiles that of you weren't in contacts it would block them, or send to voice mail... hope that helps

I needed something to allow text and calls through not block them. I wanted a simple app that I could set a time to turn off all sounds at night and then turn them back on in the morning. In this time frame I wanted to allow a group of people to be able to either text or call me and it would ring, blocking all others contacts and notifications. There is a ton of apps that will allow calls to come through but not too many that will allow both calls and text to come through.
I just downloaded an app and I will give it a try. It's called. CritiCall Pro. This isn't an all inclusive app so I will use it with the "Blocking mode" that is installed in the Note 4.
Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.
Try the app Do Not Disturb from playstore. It lets you control messages and phone calls during quiet hours and any other time of the day that you choose. There is a trial version and paid version.
Try automateit. It's not specifically for this but you can set triggers to silent certain numbers or silent all numbers except the ones you want to go through.
Maybe blacklist is the one for you

I just downloaded this and it looks like just what I wanted. How I missed this is beyond me since I have been looking for months. Thank you so much. Now crossing my fingers that it works as describes.

Call blocker... native to the Note 4... will do what I think you want it to do. You can turn off sounds for a specified time, yet allow specified callers to call or text and have the notification sound work.

Yep. Native blocking will do it. No need for third party app.
Good luck...

The Note 4 native app is great if I only wanted to allow/block calls, I want it to be able to allow text and calls from a group and in order to do that I have to a not block notifications and by doing that it allows all notifications to chime through email, calendar etc. If they would separate notifications and text alerts there would be no problem.
So far the "Do not Disturb" app is doing what I need it to. It allows both Text and Calls to come through from a group without all the other notifications that I don't want. I will continue to see if this works out without any hiccups.

Read incoming text messages when connected to BlueTooth

Hi all.
I'm trying to find out if there is a feature that will read aloud new incoming text messages when connected to bluetooth?
Looking on the Play Store there are a couple of (quite old) apps that can do this, but it seems quite janky.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Have you tried car mode from the galaxy store?
Bixby Routines.

Also if you wanted to go a little more elaborate route using the Tasker app will let you do this. Like the Bixby Routines it requires a bit of setup, but once you figure it out it will work.
Myself I had used Tasker for reading text messages out loud a while and it worked without an issue.
