I am sure i have seen some where on here that someone had something that looked like home screen tiles/widgets.
Its kind of like the new windows 7 phones. I would like to be able to create 6 or 7 of these tiles. Is there an app out there that allows you to do this or resize widgets or something.
All help welcome

You need photoshop, desktop visualizer (apk) and launcher pro plus (apk) to be able to resize widgets.
Actually, you only technically need desktop visualizer. You can download the image files from the Android 7 Topic (search for it) and they are already sized so that launcher pro plus isn't needed. However, if you want to make your own widget icons is a different story. Resizing still isn't really needed so long as you have the sizes but it is really helpful when shuffling the widgets around to get the format you want.

You will have to resize since the smallest widget dimension in desktop widget is 1X2. If you want to fit a 1X1 widget then you will have to resize the desktop widget.
u can resize also with ADW.Launcher. and u dont have to pay for that
Wonder if anyone has the apk for this prog as it seems to have disappeared of the market. The only threads I have found only one has the apk but htis does noyt give the option on the different size icons (1x2, 1x1 etc)only large small and s small.
Thanks in advance
I'm looking for a way to resize the icons that I use for my dock. Currently, I run Go Launcher and am using TallMin text-based icon images... when placed on the dock they display smaller than I'd like, there's a lot of empty space between them.
Now, I know the actual png files are larger than they appear on the dock (viewing them in Astro, they are displayed in the desired size), so re-sizing them is not what I'm looking for.
I'll take some screen shots to clarify if need be, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to tell the icons/launcher to increase their display size? Is this a feature for the dock that I could find in a different launcher?
It is doable in ADW launcher. I'm not sure about go. You could also use desktop Visualizer to get the effect you want.

I was told Desktop VisualizeR would not resize dock icons... I'll give it a shot though.
Edit: Doesn't seem to work with DVR, I can make screen icons but it doesn't let me change things in the dock.
Really need to make dock icons bigger in Go Launcher! Please, anyone know a solution?
It should be possible to resize the dock in the new 2.73 update, but I only have the option to resize the icon size on all icons? Help?
I also have been wondering this. I love GoLauncher, but have moved to ADW just because of the size of the dock icons.
I'll be watching this thread in hopes we get an answer!
Hello I'm looking for a way for me to be able to change the icon picture of any application on my S3.
I do not want any other launcher like apex launcher to be able to do it.
I'm just looking for a simple way for me to select any picture in my gallery for my icons.
Please help!
Do you want to change the icons on your home screen or in your app drawer? You can use desktop visualizer for icons on your homescreen. Even with that I think you need a certain size pic to use as an icon. If you want to change icons in your app drawer you will need to search apk tool and learn how to pull apks from your phone, decompile them, change the icon, recompile them and reinstall them one app at a time. I don't think there is an easy way to do what your asking. If there is I hope someone posts it here cause I would like to know also.
Dear Friends,
I would like to learn how to make a wallpaper part, in the most exact way, to be clickable and to perform an action.
I know about the invisible shortcuts, but in my case I just couldn't match the shortcut the way I want.
Does somebody knows if there is an app or some other way that we can achieve the most precise result for mapping clickable areas on wallpaper?
Thank you in advance.
I think the only way I know would be exactly like you've described. Figuring out the grid that works for you, then making a wallpaper that matches that grid by actually making a grid wallpaper. Once you know the grid you can design parts of the wallpaper to match up with that grid overlay and make it work.
Or you can simply use another launcher that doesn't use grids thus allowing you to place invisible shortcuts anywhere.

Maybe a Live Wallpaper could work, but I would suggest UCCW or desktop vidualizer widgets!
ssLauncher doesn't you a grid layout and lets you place icons anywhere. Only problem is that it's a little clunky to use at first.

1. Install ssLauncher. Thus launcher enables you to put widgets anywhere you like and not particularly a grid system. If the area is like a corner or something, you could use any other launcher with a grid system.
2. Make an empty png file at the size of your desired clickable area.
3. Install desktop visualizer, add a widget and select probably the 1x1 option. Click that for options and load the empty png as image. Set whatever action you want it to do. You can manually resize your selfmade widget now with ssLauncher.
4.??
5. Profit
Desktop visualizer and make blank widgets.

You can make a blank widget from any icon that has "some" blank space. Just crop to the blank area when sizing it (assuming your launcher has a resize icon option). ssLauncher is a great choice for many reasons other than no grid.
