What is the general consensus about MA7 vs MA5. I did a quick search on them and couldn't find a thread that addressed this question?
I don't believe anyone ever figured out any changes between the 2, other than ma7 was the ota.

Well, I didn't do any research on this topic, but it has been asked before. Basically, what it boils down to, MA5 was a leaked OTA that was never officially released; ie it was leaked. MA7 was officially released. Thus, overall, the difference is probably just security fixes and performance tweaks. I don't recall there being any significant features being added.
I ran a stock deoxdized MA5 and, currently, MA7. Nothing form what I can could tell seemed to be different from my user experience.
Agreed

I agree. I don't see any other differences other than stability and MAYBE a slight increase in speed. I think the speed increases comes fom the stability in that any device should run faster and more efficiently if the build becomes stronger and solid.

Ma5 was a leak and never was stable for our note 2..... officially! !!!! Ma7 was the official from ljc but I have been seeing that with the upcoming release of the sg4 we will be getting 4.2.2 soon after!!!!

I just recently purchased the GN. I'm currently running 4.0.4. I'm having some data connectivity/drop call issues.
I think it's a radio issue. Which radio would you recommend me flashing?
Thanks
I'm assuming if you're on 4.04 that you bought a Verizon version? If so, then I think you're in a different situation than us GSM users. From what I can tell from the threads in the General section the 4.04 update is supposed to improve the radios quite a bit.
GSM users have about 6 radios to choose from depending on the version, and people have had different results with each, though XXKK6 and UGKL1 seem to have mostly positive results.

Yes, I do have the VZW version of the GN. The radios do seem to be a little better on 4.0.4. But I'm still having some radio issues.
I just wanted to get a feel and make sure that I wasn't missing anything. I still have several more days to decide if I want to keep this phone or return it till at least the radio issues have been fixed.
Have you upgraded your radios to the newest ones? I updated them and my bootloader but my reception has been much better.

The various radios seem to perform differently on different phones. I have tried them all on my Gnex and the 4.0.4 radios seem to be working well. Not really sure I see much difference between .3 and .4 radios though. They are so easy to flash, just try the all.
Good luck
Hey just wanted to make a thread for people to post their benchmark screens and maybe we can compare them to GB ROMS and see the difference.
Here are a few screens from the antutu benchmark app

I tried out Raver's blackedition ICS port, I would score 3600~ish(1.5Ghz stock) on Quadrant. I flashed back to GB though due to how glitchy the ROM felt to me and lack of wifi calling and flash.
On GB I score around 2800~ stock speeds.
Can't wait for a stable release of ICS. haha
I got around 3800-3900 quadrant on Easydoesit ICS around 3200 on Tuesday GB (my DD).
Scores mean nothing.....don't know why this is even cared about

A fixed version has been out for a few days already man, with the patch already applied to the ROM. I'm running it now and getting 4000's easy.
The ICS ROM updated from stock after 2hours when purchased and switched on.
Here is the benchmark screen seconds after installation:
Second screen is after ~month with lots of apps, games etc installed (but still on Factory Rom)
I know I am. But it just proves since we got it for Verizon all of the updates will be delayed from when GSM users get them
Suçks cause i thought we got the 4.02 update pretty quick.
I wonder if Sprint having basically the same phone will change anything?
Of course there is always CM9 or AOSP builds. But official stuff is always nice. Makes me wonder why they havent officially released it.

So my Nexus has been under repair for the last two weeks. Just got it back last night.
When I sent it in for repair there were only a handful of roms, now there are like ...lots.
So, was wondering, what is considered right now by the Verizon community for the Nexus, the most complete, feature rich, stable working rom for Jellybean?
I know it's a loaded question, but hopefully someone can give some insight
you should trie this one!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613902
I`m using the maguro version and its great!!! its almost nothing you cant change on this rom!! It is simply amazing:laugh:

If you are interested in Jellybean, I would suggest Eclipse Jellybean. I have flashed Paranoid and Vicious and they are both very good ROMs but I really like the included features and continuous updates of Eclipse. I am on verizon as well and have had zero problems with the exception of the custom navbar utility. Not the navbar itself, mind you, just the utility that allows you to customize the softkey icons on the fly. Otherwise, the features are great and they don't include a ton of useless features and mods that will add to instability, kill your battery, or just slow your phone.
Well, I think that ParanoidAndroid is one of the best rom.
The hybrid mode made your phone looks completely different. It's awesome.
It's based CM10.
The thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619582
Unfortunately, not everything is so good in this rom. The actual versions are not very stable (maybe for the CM kernel). I would recommend to wait untill ParanoidAndroid 2.0 (which should be very stable).
This is an example of how my Gnex looks like:

I'm curious because I feel like the tablet is running smoother but it could very well be my imagination. I'm going to be happy if battery life is somehow improved by the update.
Hopefully the chromecast crashing system UI bug
Edit; nope
Honestly?? I don't see any difference. I think peeps imagine things after an update.
I though the speed up was imaginary too so I did a post update video comparison with the tabPRO. Definitely sped up.
Sent from my SM-T700 using Tapatalk
No question the update sped up touchwiz and massively improved wifi streaming.
Video streaming such as YouTube is MUCH faster.
According to GSam I've been getting another 30min screen on time per charge since the update. Not sure if it's attributable to the update. Wifi is definitely better.
WiFi improved. The micro stutter with touch wiz is obsolete. Keep up the good work Samsung.
Battery feels like it is lasting longer to me. Keyboard entry feels a little laggier though. Could be the browser.
After update I lost like 20 apps.
I'm already rooted so I don't get updates. What update version is it? And what is the date of the update.

Short answer is yes. However, it will unroot your device whereby you will have to flash Beans cf_autoroot again.
Also Sammy may get knowledge that were rooted to start. Once you rooted, you tripped knox (thereby voiding your warranty) . We may get a way in the future to reset knox so that should you need service, you could flash back to stock and reset knox. With kies, sammy may record that knox was tripped and void your warranty, regardless of what you may do to it in the future.
Lastly, it will reinstall any bloat you may have deleted.
I went ahead and flashed it as I will be moving to Vietnam and nobody there ever checks knox, especially on top tier products.
