[Q] Student project: Write Alarm Clock time to other NFC units possible? - NFC Hacking

Hi! I'm in a group of students at the University of Oslo. We are designing and programming a product that helps people go to sleep faster. The product is based on Arduino's.
My question is if it's possible to have a Android writing to another NFC unit, what time the alarm clock is set to?
It would really help our project if someone know if this is possible. We do not have any skills in Android programming. Just Arduino and java.
Hopefully, someone have made this possible.
Thank you, Vetle.

I've written a book: Windows Mobile Game Development

Hello XDA Developers,
Hope this post is OK here -- please let me know if not.
Just wanted to make a quick post to let you know that I've just finished writing a new book, entitled Windows Mobile Game Development, to be published by Apress within the next month or two.
I've spent a lot of time putting it together to ensure that it provides as much information as possible to allow C# and VB.NET developers to write games for the Windows Mobile platform, allowing them to target the widest possible range of hardware (from WM2003SE right up to WM6.5, smartphones, different screen resolutions, etc.).
The book takes the developer from setting up the Visual Studio IDE for WM development, through graphics programming, consistent game timing, flexible object manipulation, control mechanisms and ends with a guide to programming OpenGL ES on capable devices.
If you'd like to read more, you can find lots of details on my web site at www.adamdawes.com. I'd be very interested in any feedback anyone has.
Hope you like it!
Adam.
good job.

[Project] View GeoLocations with Augmented Reality

hello forum people, well basically it’s like the Tittle says, I am currently developing a application that can save GeoLocations, then view them in augmented reality, it’s a school project and i wanted to see if someone else had developed something similar With "Windows phone 7" I’ve been searching allot of examples and stuff to get the main idea, but still not much luck, there are lots of good Android apps (like the ones I’d like to find) to guide myself in developing this app.
Project description.
-Must save geolocations with a desktop application developed in C# with visual Studio 2010.
-Augmented Reality app developed with Visual Studio (WP7), must display the text in the Geolocation with a short description.
little example.
Save a geolocation of a building, in that building there will be a meeting at 8:00 PM, the augmented reality app must show the building, the distance in Meters and the meeting description.
If someone knows of a similar project, or likes the idea post your comments, this is mainly for help, I am a bit stuck in my developing.
Actually I’ve been just testing different types of augmented reality apps and codes.
What about Nokia City Lens?
I cant try this app yet, because in mexico is not yet released. but could be a good Example, cant view the code thou.. =(

I'm from Mexico, you can "suscribe" to Nokia Beta Labs (betalabs.nokia.com) and you can get the app.
Sorry if you want some code, it is a Nokia closed project.

I can refer you to a little app that the company i am working with, ARLab, developed thanks to our SDKs, it's called ARPicBrowser. It's a bit similar to what you're talking about. It's not the same but it could bring you some insight. It is also open source, which is why i thought it would help you out. Here you can access the source code. By the way, if you're interested in augmented reality development you can check out our SDKs. You might find them useful.
Thanks!
Right now im at school, with the school Desktop PCs I can't test the code, but when i arrived home i will check on this, Thank you.
I just glanced the links you posted, is this only available to IOS & Android? no WP7 support?

Well, this is indeed an android forum XD but in any case, we do not have WP7 support now. It is in our roadmap but we don't have neither a release date nor anything too well planned about it as yet. Sorry

Thanks anyway =).

Work for hire - android hacking and development

Hello,
I would like to hire a consultant to help me with my communications needs.
Specifically, I would like to hire someone who can step me through unlocking, rooting, and loading custom OS software on android phones.
I would also like help building my own development environments and setting up my own tools so I can do this myself with your instructions.
In addition to rooting/unlocking I am also interested in security and deeper UNIX internals of the phones, so if you are applying for this consulting job, you should have a very, very good understanding of UNIX/Linux and how the OS controls the phone (and how to control the phone from the command line).
DO NOT contact me about this consulting job unless you have worked as a consultant before and know how to write good documentation and how to create real deliverables ... this is a REAL JOB.
Please PM me here at xda-dev if you'd like to chat.
Thanks.

Looking for an experienced developer!

Hello everybody,
We are a two member team with an application idea that we think could be useful for a lot of people. We have a list of features and a complete UI design plan. A video showing the features is also being created.
The application is intended to handle the notifications in a smarter way. To achieve that, we need a Google Chrome extension also. (Please notify us in your e-mail, whether you have already experience in developing Chrome extensions!).
With a simple and easy to use interface, this app is only intended for doing a few things, but doing those efficiently and fast.
We do not have a business, or any money. Our payment for a developer would be a % cut of the revenues, or we could try crowdfunding the idea. If it works out, we could partner up for future projects too, because we have an another app idea also (it is significantly bigger and much harder to make).
If you are interested in more details and UI design pictures, PM, or send an email to [email protected]
Please only write if you think that this idea has potential. If you have previous experience from developing an app, please include a link of that in your message.
Thank you!

Help needed with app development - please!

Hello,
I am trying to get an app made for a product that I am trying to prototype, and am having a seriously hard time with it. I am looking for some help on this as I have been scammed twice by people doing a really convincing job of being a developer that turned out not to be. Luckily it wasn't much money. I would really appreciate some guidance or development help. There's a case of premium beer in it for you. :good:
What I am trying to do:
I need an app that will allow a user on their mobile phone to video call in to the product that I am prototyping. The product will be built-in in the user's home, and have a built-in android tablet running it. The android tablet will be connected to the house wifi and controlling a IOIO board, which then will turn relays on and off as required.
In app features:
2x on/off sliders that will maintain the relay in the position selected
1x momentary push button that will operate a servo motor to 90deg and return to starting position
1x momentary timed push button - when the button is pushed, it turns a motor and counts how many seconds, then saves the number.
1x momentary push button - resets "Saved Value"
1x push button - Saves "Saved Value".
1x scheduled timer - the user would preset at what time and how many times a day a function would occur. This would cause a motor to spin for the amount of seconds predetermined by the "Saved Value".
I would really appreciate the help of a good person/programmer. It doesn't seem overly complicated with what I am trying to do, but getting this done has proven to be a huge challenge for me. Most of the coding can be cut and pasted off of open source stuff, but I have no clue when it comes to programming and am incapable of programming this myself. The app doesn't have to be publicly published and only has to support the 1 mobile app connecting to the product app.
Thank you for your time. I look forward to hearing from you.

Approaches to Vet Candidates for Your App Team
Every position requires marginally extraordinary aptitude and experience assessments. Any designer you're thinking about must have coordinate experience building applications. Search for skill in the stages you anticipate supporting. An iOS application requires an engineer with Objective C and Xcode information. An Android application, then again, needs a designer who knows Java and Eclipse or Android Studio.
Finishing up Note
Contracting your own group likewise requires more than simply finding the right individuals . In the event that you adopt this strategy as opposed to contracting a whole group like clever applications itself, you need to handle everything from HR to legitimate issues. What amount of get-away and wiped out leave will you permit? Will colleagues get value? In what capacity will you manage neighborhood and government impose filings? Those things are past the extent of this prompt article. Return for scope of these contemplations.
Step by step instructions to Find the Right People for Your App Development Team
Contracting for an application group isn't too not quite the same as procuring as a rule. Swing first to the general population you know and their systems for experienced contacts and referrals. These associations will permit you to increase more prominent bits of knowledge on an individual's expert identity and unwavering quality past their experience.
Check out Brainyapps they can help you with all of the programming!
