[Q] Newbie.. I want to root my epic 4g

Im getting my Xoom tablet next week and I cant get any type of free wifi tethering to work with this stock 2.2.2 rom from Sprint. My only option now is root this phone and load a custom ROM.
You guys are the experts.. which Rom or load is going to work best for me. I really only do the following:
- Touchdown (email/exchange)
- gmail
- GPS maps (I like the sprint one actually)
- tether USB rightnow with PDAnet
- pictures to facebook
- facebook
- read the news/web stuff

I see in the developer section there are quite a few roms... any one in particular everyone linkes?

Lots of good ROMs out there. The first post on each one tells you the features and install instructions.

I am pretty sure that you would enjoy the epic experience ROM. It really is awesome.

[Q] tether and wifi hotspot

i just upgraded my phone from a galaxy s2 to a galaxy s3. i have the new truly unlimited 4g plan and i know with my s2 i could freeze the t-mobile tethering provision and have it work for free. i do not see this provision in the s3. is there something that i can do to make this work om my s3?

Are u rooted and on a rom or stock cause u need to be rooted

You can first go and search within the general or q&a section. There are about 1467356 threads of it that explains what you can do. I think even in the s2 section I posted a guide on how to get it to work with the new unlimited plan...

Root or not

I have my galaxy s3 on cspire an I'm told it's almost identical to sprints. I'm not new to rooting phones but I am new to Samsungs and I and want to tether (free) really bad.. any good roms confirmed working on cspire

wifi hacking help

Hi guys
I am new to ths forum can anybody upload the process to hack wifi with samsung s3 gt-19300 my mobile is still unroot

Don't know of any "hack WiFi" process. But you are in the wrong forum. Go to your devices forum and check there maybe. This is for the sgh-T999 only. Anything here will probably brick your device.

Wifi Kill? There's a thread for that. Google it. There isn't a free version for someone to upload.

Wifi calling in aosp

It's been awhile since I've had a t-mobile phone, but is it still the practice that aosp roms will never support wifi calling? Just wanted to get a status update on that. Thanks!
