64 gb micro sd problem(s) - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hello,
I just got a 64 gb micro sd and just been experiencing issues since. I have formatted it to Fat32. It would randomly not show up when I plug in my phone, it does not show under it.
When I transfer music...they break? Will say something like so and so cannot be played, format is not supported or file does not exist. When I look at my musics on the computer, i cannot delete because it says i need written permission.
I am at lost for word at the moment because it is the second one I got...all having the same issue. When I format to exFat it does not even get mounted.

Backup your SD Card to your PC. Use the phone to Format, then put all your files back onto the Card.

I have already done that, it doesn't work...wouldn't mount

[Q] Missing some files on MMC card when connecting to computer

Hey guys
I have a problem with my DHD..
The other day when i connected it to my pc, and choosed to connect is as an external harddrive, a message popped up that there was some error with the drive, and it needed to be scanned for faults. And so it did, and it said that nothing was wrong, but
But when i enter it throu' my computer, i only see to folders name:
bugreports
openfeint (some gaming program)
and some files, that has something to do with my custom rom, HoneySense HD.
The strange thing is, that when i unplug the device from my PC again, all the pictures and videos that are stored on my MMC card, shows up in the gallery.
What should i do?
Move the files to the phone, format the card, and move back to the card, or do any of you have a better solution?
Thank you for your time
It looks like the start of an SD corrupted FAT32 table.
Try opening your files with a WiFi FTP app (many of them free on the market) copy the important files to your PC.
I would suggest using SD Formatter (google it) to wipe your SD clean, format in Fat32 and copy your files again.
I had this before. The SD card had a set of files on it but everytime I tried to put something else on it, or take something away it wouldnt work. Formatting didnt fix anything either so I had to use a new SD card.

SD Formatter v3 is a different thing to Windows format. It does a Hard format for your SD card. I happened to my friend once and it worked like magic, maybe you can revive your old SD card this way.

Micro SD cards not detected

I'm having some strange issues with my S3 and micro SD cards. I noticed any attempt to access one of the folders will force crash any app that tries.
Then I did a nandroid backup from TWRP recovery and when I rebooted the phone, it claimed that the card was empty or damaged.
So I connected the card to my computer to backup everything that was there. Windows did say it needed to be scanned for errors but it didn't find any errors. It was formatted as exFat so I could put larger than 4 GB files on it.
When I put it back in my S3 it wasn't detected at all. No error messages, it was just as if I hadn't put any card in. Under Storage settings, under mount external SD card it just says to insert a card.
What I've found since then is in order to get the S3 to recognize that there is a card I need to do a full format (either FAT32 or exFAT) on my computer. If I do a quick format, it still won't be recognized. I need to do a full format.
But then, if I unmount and connect to my computer, then eject from my computer and put it back in my S3 it isn't detected again and I have to do a full format again.
I thought maybe the card had become defective, but I'm seeing the exact same behaviour now with a different card. The first one I was using was a class 10 32 GB lexar card. The second one is a class 10 16 GB Adata card. Both do the same thing. After a full format on my computer, they are detected on the phone but after unmounting, mounting on my computer, not doing anything except ejecting it, they stop being detected by the S3.
I've even tried re-formatting the card in the phone but that doesn't change anything.
Anyone know what's going on here? Is the phone defective? I don't want to send the phone in for warranty repair except as a last resort as I suspect that would mean several weeks without a phone.
Thanks!

No,your phone is not dead. It's a software issue
Did you tried mount in recovery?
Do u have a previous backup of system partition?
When I try mount external sd, there was error becouse "no card"
On 108 and 157 same problem and thats was not update, i install clear ROM and after do backup (108 ROM) from September (then I use 16GB ADATA card) still have the same problem
Did you format the card on phone? Don't just try to use computer to format it. I've tried a similar case but then after used the format tool on phone to format the card and the problem solved. If it doesn't work too, try to use other sd card.
You should format to FAT32!
But on my PC a can do this only exFAT or NTFS, when i format to FAT32 by recovery after put card to PC it want to format card

[Q] sd card not mounting for anyone else?

I've been having problems with the external sd card, when i restart it shows 'sd card inserted' in the notification panel but under storage the only options are mount sd and erase sd. Its a generic 128gb sd which i formatted on the computer and the phone, when i hit mount sd it just shows the 'sd card inserted' again but doesn't actually mount. It only works if i format it in the phone and only until a restart. The card works perfectly on my computer. Anyone else having this issue or have a solution, there has to be something quicker than copy, re format and copy back the files
what type of computer did you format it on? in the past I had issues with formatting my SD cards on windows. I either had to format with the phone, a mac, or a linux pc.
I have not had the issue you are describing, but my card does unmount sometimes and then remounts immediately after.
Windows pc, but i reformatted it on the after it didn't mount, could it be the sd card? It was 14$ on ebay but the sellers feedback was 100% for the cards.
I'm wondering if it might be a problem with the reader or the firmware since it reads on the pc just fine.

I actually had a 64GB SanDisk MicroSD card unmount while in use on my G3 then I could never use it again. I'd try to format it and it'd act like it did but the same files/folders were there. I could no longer write to it. I need to still contact SanDisk about it to see if I can get a replacement.
You need to reformat it into NTFS format.
Then try to mount it. This is the case for anything 64g or higher.

potentional fix
I had this problem with my LGG3 not mounting the SD card, I found that taking putting the SD card into your pc/laptlaptop, copy over pictures and music you wish to keep and format it as a FAT32 this worked for me however the Android files on the card had to be deleted I think on of them was corrupting the SD card as it would show randomly on my phone.
Hope this helps

Why won't my SM-T320 read my micro SD card?

I'm running a custom MM ROM on my SM-T320. Everything is smooth and stable except when I insert a micro SD card. I know the pros and cons of "format for internal storage". That's not my issue. I know that you can have the T320 reformat a micro SD card to make it readable external storage. That's not my issue either. I can't figure out why, when I insert a working micro SD card with readable music and video files on it, the music and video apps on my device can't see those files. I know that the DEVICE sees the files. When I pull down the notice in the system tab about whether to "format or explore", if I select Explore, the utility sees every file on the drive and can play every one perfectly. So, why won't my media apps see those files?
If all I wanted to do was to plug that micro SD card in the T320 and leave it there for storage I'd have the device reformat it and be done with it. That's not what I want. Before this, I could have different micro SD cards with different selections of media and other files and plug those cards into whatever device I wanted to use to read the files. All of the devices would recognize and read all the micro SD cards. With Marshmallow that seems no longer to be true. Am I doing something wrong or is there a work-around?
That's a known limitation of CM13 for mondrianwifi. We have to wait until the maintainer submits this fix to the build.
