Phone won't boot up all the way now. - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Hey guys, I'm on the TBSGS3 Rom, can't remember what version though. But anyway, lately I haven't really had any problems with the rom other than random freezes that happen when I leave an app open when I lock the screen, but just now my phone randomly rebooted and now won't get past the initial "SAMSUNG GALAXY S2" screen that comes up when you first turn on the phone. I wasn't doing anything with it other than sending a text message and it just rebooted, so I have no idea what caused this, but does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? I can boot into recovery and download mode just fine, it just doesn't want to completely boot for whatever reason.
Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

If you have 'tried' to enter recovery, 'try' again after removing the battery and replacing it.

It should still boot to recovery. Make sure you're holding both volume keys down. If all else fails, flash back to stock samsung and go from there.

[Q] Soft brocked my T989. When started "Samsung" flashes then goes blank

I had manually loaded ICS 4.0.3 but didn't like it and tried to go back to 3.5. I used the unlock ROM that's been floating around here for awhile. When it was done installing I re-booted, the "SAMSUNG" logo came up and then screen goes blank. Only way to turn phone off is to pull battery.
I can get into Samsung recovery mode but when I try factory reset it tells me cache/recovery files cannot be found.
Any help on a solution would be appreciated.
Fortunately I have a friend at corporate or I'd really be screwed. He can get me a new phone but I'd like to try and fix this one as it's my fault.
Can you get into download mode and Odin a stock image?

I'm going to try that first thing in the morning as I left the phone at my office. I'll let you know if it works.
Hallelujah! Odin recovery worked! Thanks for the suggestion!

Soft-Bricked Telus Galaxy S2X

Hello, new here.
My Galaxy S2X is soft-bricked because i decided to flash a stock telus rom onto it with Odin[Previously i had Mr.X's Rooted rom] All it does now is boot up, goes through a boot loop (S Logo). I cannot go into Recovery mode but i can go into download mode. I tried flashing different roms but with no luck.
Any help please
sounds to me like you should go to the right forums. i think your phone is the same as the TMobile 989 and the AT&T/Rogers 727
definitely isnt the i777 which is the forum you are currently in

If you can get into download mode you are good. You have to flash a stock Telus ROM in Odin. I am not sure what caused your soft brick the first time around, but make sure you follow the directions exactly and do not check "repartition" in Odin.

Have you tried other Stock Telus builds?
Umm... did u try flashin cwm again through odin, using adb on pc to reboot to recovery, wiping user data and flashing LE4. Radio then reboot?
Also, just a reminder, don't expect it to boot right up, stock has a good amount of bloat (telus is nowhere near as bad as tmo, but its still there)
It will take longer then normal too boot, give it at least 10min before callin it quits

Thanks, flashing Recovery again and then wiping the user data worked.
Thanks man
Hey guys, I was playing around on my phone, and I downloaded something off of 4shared (just a game) and it crashed and made my phone freeze. I then held my power button and waited for it to boot but now im stuck in a bootloop with the stock telus rom... is there anything I can do that wont wipe everything on my phone? Oh and I can get into both CWM recovery and download mode.
EDIT: I gave it some more time to startup and it pretty much factory reseted my phone. I get that thing to setup my phone after startup. Everytime I turn my phone off it goes back to this screen and my phone restarts. If I surf through the files of my phone, it shows I still have everything but It doesnt show any of my apps or anything.

Posting this question in a very old thread probably isn't your best move. Maybe start a new thread?? This thread didn't have a post since July and its not even the same issue as you.
Just my advice!

[Q] Friend's phone won't boot

Hey guys, my friend has a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II and it won't boot up properly. Here's what he said.
The phone was already rooted, all I did was tap "reboot in recovery mode" in clockwork recovery mod, and then the phone just died. Now when I hold the power button it vibrates and the samsung screens pops up for a second, and then it dies again.

I'm not sure what could be causing this. He didn't even try to flash a custom rom yet, it just failed when he tried rebooting to recovery mode. I'm guessing it's not a kernel incompatibility problem because he didn't flash a custom rom.
Does anyone know what might be the problem and if it can be fixed?
How did he root it? With what method and what recovery did he use? 99 times out 100 as long as you can get to samsung logo it can be fixed. Has he tried to get into download mode to use odin to fix it?

Not to point out the obvious, but is the battery charged? Sometimes when the battery dies, it still has enough juice to get to the boot screen, then it will die again. Sounds like its a bad battery. If the battery is not the issue, try using Odin to load your stock ROM onto the phone with no root and root it per the post in the developement thread.

Good luck. Let me know if it works.

Sm-T800 stuck at Samsung logo start screen

I'll preface this by saying I have searched the forums here and after reading a few threads about similar problems to mine, I haven't been able to find a solution. So, I'm making a new thread in the hopes you fine individuals will be able to help me troubleshoot what's going on.
The problem:
I was running CM 12 on my T800 for a while, but after some bugs and random reboot issues, I decided to give the new IronRom a shot. I went ahead and flashed it through TWRP and everything went swimmingly. I was able to set up the tablet and use it for a while. However, two days ago when my wife was using the tablet, it randomly restarted while she was using it and then froze at the Samsung startup screen. It would show the screen, then blink to black like the tablet had restarted, show the screen and repeat this about 4 or 5 times before freezing at the Samsung start screen.
What I have tried doing:
First thing I tried was home+power+volume up to get into TWRP and do a wipe and start over. But I cannot get into recovery. Once the tablet is frozen the only way to get it to restart is with a hard reset power+volume down, nothing done after that seems to make any difference.
Second, I realized I could still get into download mode, so using ODIN I tried going back to stock. Flashed the stock rom for my region but when Odin is done with the initial flash, it reboots the tablet and everything is the same. Frozen at the Samsung screen.
I've tried flash TWRP again, but once the tablet reboots after download mode, it just freezes at the Samsung screen.
Any suggestions at this point would be welcome.
last time i had this same trouble but on my T705. I had to wipe everything including the internal storage. only then the device boot properly.

I would love to be able to, but as I said in the original post, I can't get the tablet to enter recovery, so I can't wipe it. The only thing I can get it to do is boot into download mode.
Hi, sorry to be that guy who bumps threads, but I'm still sitting here with a tablet I can't use and no more ideas on what I can do to fix it. I'd really appreciate any ideas at this point. Thanks again!

I had similar experience, and even started downloading official samsung image, with odin etc. However it looks like I was able to enter recovery if rebooting using the following sequence:
- power-vol_down-home combination until the screen goes black
- moving finger from volume-down to volume-up
-> waiting a few seconds (less than 10) until recovery screen shows up.
Then I just reinstalled the good old cm 12.1 (instead of the failing lineageos 14.1), and then all happy again.

Thanks for the link. I tried it but never could get the tablet turned off to see the battery icon. When I used the method in the link it just returned to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S startup screen
