[Q] Noob Rooting Questions/Help

Ok so I'm completely new to android and I'm thinking about rooting my Nitro. But I do have a few questions:
-What is the possibility of bricking my phone? (only rooting, no flashing roms etc...)
-How do I back-up my phone? (If I'm fine with factory reset, is it still recommended?)
-Do I void my warranty by doing this? (Could I "un-root" if I have problems and make a claim on my warranty (warranty is generic LG one that comes with phone)
-What advantages to I gain by rooting? (I know root access, but I mean like real world application)
*Thank you to anyone who helps me out!
I'm new to Android as well and was able to flash my Nitro fairly easily. I downloaded SuperOneClick and the LG drivers and that was about it. I wish I could link you to everything, but with a bit of reading here in the Nitro forum you should figure it out.
I've found that all the guys here are very helpful, so after searching and reading just ask what you need to and you'll get your answers.
As for benefits of rooting... I think the biggest benefit is a custom ROM. I haven't done that yet cause I haven't done enough reading on it. I do, however, thoroughly enjoy being able to move files around on my phone as opposed to my iphone limiting my every move.
SuperOneClick and the LG drivers worked for me...
You can root and unroot with SuperOneClick.
As long as you follow directions you should not be able to brick the thing during the rooting process.
After rooting you have to know what you are doing modifications so read up...

[Q] Some Questions about Rooting and Unrooting the LG G3 32GB device.

Hello,
First sorry for that thread. I'm be a stranger to LG devices and I' m confused and not sure that I pick the right ansers from each threat.
Device: LG G3, 32 GB, V10F-TUR-XX
I' m really very new to LG's rooting process. Before I' used HTC and Samsung devices. I rooted and made a lot of things with my Samsung Note 2. Now give it away and purchased me the LG G3.
LG Rooting procedures are confusing and scaring me .
I' ll be very appreciated if someone could answer the questions below.
So far I see there are many rooting tools for the device. Which one is the proper one for my device. How do I know to choose the right one. I hope the device specs I mentioned above are enough.
What are exactly the differences between the rooting tools.
Are there locking mechanisms of the Kernel like on Samsung. Is it possible to lose the EFS partition like on Samsung devices.
Are there some codes like Samsung's KNOX.
Am I able to go back to the unrooted state.
Thanks in advance

You may want to ask the moderators to move this to Q&A before you get flamed.
There is a root tripper.
I'd check out Purple Drake. It should work for all variants. I/O root may work for your variant though.
There is an EFS backup tool, I suggest you use it.
You can unroot if necessary. Or just flash the appropriate tot/dll files.

Not a problem. This is my first LG device as well. I've just had the time to read through everything. Thought it'd be best before I start messing with stuff

This is my second LG. Before I used LG Optimus but was not in the rooting business. I let my Note 3 untouched . I started rooting Samsung devices with my Note 2. So far I see rooting Samsung devices is much easier than the LG devices.
By the way thank you again. But I still not feeling ready to root my LG G3

No No. Rooting will be fine I think.
I only worry about to unroot the device to its original state.
This is important for me to get newer versions of the device's software. (Android's nwer versions like 4.5 or greater).
Thanx.

[Q] LS980 How to flash?

Okay guys, this may seem like a total noob question to a lot of you, but how do I flash my LG G2?
I know it's nooby but you know when you've not done any flashing or upgrading for the last 4+ years - things change, and in the mobile world they change pretty fast!
I mean I can get to the flashing stage (recovery mode + lg flash tool + kdz file), but I'm unsure which files I need.
So what I have:
LG G2 LS980 Sprint 32GB (bad esn) - purchased off ebay to use in the UK.
So here I am with an LG G2 which turns on great, works, but when I put my sim card in, it doesn't do anything whatsoever.
So can anyone help? Links and instructions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Look through the forums. There are threads stickied as the first posts that tell you how to return your phone back to stick (ie, out of box condition). It can be done, and once done, it would be really hard to tell that you did anything at all.

Brand New LG G3 Rooted

Hi I'm hoping somebody here can help me. I just bought a new LG G3 & upon further inspection of the Phone I noticed an app installed called SuperSU. I did a little digging & it turns out this Phone is rooted. I don't want to lose my Warranty or OTA updates from T-Mobile so can somebody please walk me through the steps to remove this & start fresh from stock T-Mobile Phone please.
I'm not the best at this kind of stuff so I'll need a very nice person to walk me through this or if you have a video with clear instructions. Please & Thank you.

This is the best way I know of going back to stock.

Use either the KDZ or TOT method.
There is no "easy" one-click method and you are at risk of bricking your phone.
You can also try the LG Mobile Support Tool
This page is pretty easy to follow and is what I always use when refreshing my phone.

Good luck!

this cant be a "new phone" if Superuser was installed and its rooted
Having root doesn't void the warranty. Furthermore, by buying off somebody instead of a tmo rep, you already don't even have a warranty, unless Tue guy you bought it off still has one one it currently.
