[Q] Add apps to a custom 2.0 FW

Hi guys!
I'm trying to add some pre-defined apps to the sh.app. But I can't. I tried doing it as in Bada 1.2, copying the apps in Osp/Applications, but after flashing, the screen stops at the bada splash and reboots.
Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance

I was trying Marca, an app to a Spanish Sports Newspaper. No spoofing if you were referring to that
P.S: You received a free thanks hahaha

I tried NFS(spoofing) along with Polaris....debug screen came...dont no if its that @ app issue

Yeah! The phone reboots again and again. The question is how to add those apps and have a normal boot and a correct working of the phone

Yes it is , but i cant add more than one app
maybe in official rom ....

That's the case. Actually, i found some .ini files that make calling to the apps, but I don't know the exact files to modify. Just wanted to know if anybody has had a look at that

Wat i wanted to know is if we just add any1 app(1 app only) will it work bcoz polaris comes along with the frimware and so its supposed to work...but other apps(in my case nfs) have all those security codes which were generated by another phone and so its not supposed to work( u know samsung did this to prevent spoofing)
So i thought if we extract Aspalt 5 which came preloaded with bada 1 will work but was lazy to try it out

I doubt it. I´ve tried with non spoofed apps and it does not work. It is not the thing of adding just one app, but there is some linking file i can't find to make the app appear and work.

i upgraded to 4.1.2
but unable to use whatsapp on multi window
i used the signed whatspp but its not able to complete the verification process
but i can use the normal whatsapp
plzzzzz gimme a correct link fr the app

i don't think that will be possible without root..
root is not a dangerous process, you can revert it any time with correct kernel..

theres an watsapp app too but its not working correctly
n i need the signed watsapp coz i need it in multiwindow
i continuously use watsapp so parallely i can run other apps

can I know why you don't want to root? it solves all problems and give you the opportunity to have a faster and much better phone experience
You will not lose any data.. only add root, is fast and super easy to do

Just download the exynos abuse apk and click root

You can do it without any root. You just have to edit the apk in order to make it work with multiwindow.. There was an app here on xda that modifies the apk, so you only need to download the apk from whatsapp site (not the market), edit it, and install.. All should be fine

May i ask why you wanna use whatsapp in multiview? I tried it and its useless, the whole multiview is useless in my opinion, oke its nice to annoy ipnone owners

i use whatsapp very often
so if its available in multiwindow
i can workout easily

I think we just have to wait on the app devs to develop apps that can properly handle multi view.
Lord knows some are still not fully 4.1.2 friendly and worse with 4.2 on the nexus.
Whats app is in bad need of some updates. For example: scrolling is awful... even on 4.2
So I say we just have to wait.

AOSP browser without root (yes you read that right) 4.3

I have a method to install the aosp browser without any root privileges at all and no modifications of the system partition. Just involves installing 2 or 3 apks (depending if you want bookmark syncing). This should work on any of the other nexus devices that came without stock browser.
Please don't repost this yet. I want to add in the other languages to browser.apk for the "find on page" button in the menu. I fixed English. The stock nexus roms don't have the string in framework-res for this one button.
Download zip (this is not a cwm package/just extract it or open the files from inside)

Steps:
1. Use es file manager to browse to system/app and install browserproviderproxy (it will say app not installed, don't worry it worked) OR install the included file
2. Reboot (it will not work without rebooting first)
3. Install Browser4.3_blackhand1001.apk
4. Install ChromeBookmarksSyncAdapter_blackhand1001.apk (this will give you bookmark syncing)
Extras:
User agent selection in Advanced Preferences
Fullscreen Toggle in Labs
Please post if it works for you!!

Updated the process. It now should work on all devices. Turns out the signature on browserproviderproxy differs between devices.

Does this work on all devices as well as previous version of android say for example Sony Xperia S running 4.1.2 (comes with stock browser version 4.1.2-N7_zg)?

yep working fine on my nexus7.. though there's no option for full screen.

It only works on 4.3 devices.

I can try to port the cyanogenmod aosp browser for you. it has those extra options.

dumb question, but since this is going in the system folder, will it affect our ability to receive OTA updates?

Its not going in the system folder. You navigate to folder and open the existing apk to install it. It does not effect OTA updates. I just included another copy of the file for those who don't know where that folder is.

Hi, thank you for the mod, I'm really eager to try it. I have tried and download the mod from mega 3 times but there's an error message saying connection timed out. Would you please be able to either re-upload the file or maybe add another host if you could? I have been trying to get this for a minute now.

It's been resolved for me, were able to both download via browser and from mega.

Thank you for the app, it flashed properly and after enabling it I can see the messages I receive... But when I try and reply the messages don't go through and have to go inside the message app to text.
Please, advise if there's anything I can do to fix.

I flashed this mod and I don't see an option to enable floating messages. Any help?

You can find it in Settings. But it's not working on MM (if you have that), nothing happens when enable.

default download manager app is gone?

I was on marshmallow, but I downgraded to lollipop so I could root again. Once I was rooted I noticed that that default download app is gone. If I look through all the apps in the settings I see it, but there is no icon in the app drawer so I cant actually open the app.

There is an app in the playstore called quickshortcutmaker , you can use that to find the download app and add it to your homescreen , let me know if it works for you and if it does then please leave a thumbs up....

The download manager doesn't show up in the app. I also noticed that the calculator and the memo app is gone. Do you think its possible the version of lollipop I got didn't come with these apps?

It's possible i suppose , have you tried downloading the needed apps from settings/about phone/update centre. Have a look in there but don't download software updates or you'll lose root only look in the app updates section, apart from that the only thing i can suggest is maybe flashing a different lollipop rom just be careful buddy ...
