long story to short - 1013 is a media server process.
I'm getting the same problem, how did you solve the problem?
I am having this same issue, different device, but this is the first thread I found with the issue.
Have you been listening to music?

Had anyone figured out what this is? I have not been listening to music at all.

Media is pretty unspecified, could be pictures, videos, not just music
I have it too on my Verizon s4, just installed Google experience launcher and new search on it today, hadn't seen it before... running bone stock otherwise. 4.3.
Edit, turned off ok Google listening... haven't seen it since, at least today.

We have got the same problem with Galaxy Note 3, stock rom, rooted. At some point in the night, this *overflow* starts to keep the phone awake and uses 40% of battery in less than 3 hours.
There is no widget on any homescreen.

Better Battery Stats or Wakelock Detector will help you to figure out what app(s) are causing it.

Unfortunately Wakelock Detector doesn't show anything uncommon. I deinstalled Spotify and Quizduell Premium, rebooted the phone again - and the problem seems to be gone.
This really is strange behaviour and Android should by now be able to find out those problems by itself. This reminds me of Windows, which after over a decade still struggles with problems and you have to install tools to solve them - or reinstall the whole system.
Hi, I know this is an older thread but I've been having the same problem recently and I tried to Google a solution to the problem and found this thread. I too have had high battery drain from Google Services. The phone is basically awake at all times. GSAM Battery Monitor lists *overflow* as the main culprit.
I have location services turned off and I turned off syncing of all accounts except for Gmail. I uninstalled all updates to Google Services and any apps associated with it. I have rebooted the phone multiple times. I'm pretty sure I've tried every battery saving tip I can possibly find and nothing seems to solve the problem. Every now and then I'll get a day of amazing battery life and think my problems are behind me; then it will go back to the same terrible battery life without me changing any settings or changing the way I use the phone.

Have you tried turning mobile data and/or Wi-Fi off when not in use?
In the never ending search for battery life, I'm trying to figure out why Google Maps is doing a consistent 15% drain on my battery every day. That's 15% without ever opening Maps.
Is this just the s3 reporting maybe all gps activity under Maps or something weird? How can I try and diagnose what is eating this energy to resolve it? I'm trying to go from wake to sleep w/o charging my phone and medium use...

Maps -> Settings -> Location settings -> Disable Location reporting
While you are here you can increase your privacy by disabling the rest of the Latitude location reporting options.

Doesn't disabling latitude make stuff like cyberus useless?
Also I don't see a location settings under Maps.

Diable...only allow. When u need it
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda premium
Weird, it's already disabled. I have 4 google accounts on my phone the default one is set to "do not share" and the other 3 haven't accepted the TOS for latitude so I assume they're not sharing.
Any other suggestions?
Any solutions?
The Map drain battery is present it shows that it uses 7% while phone was in standby the whole time. And if the Cell standby is reported incorrectly than battery drains more then 7%. I try to disable GPS to see if it fixes the issue but it makes it super inconvenient to turn it back on whenever i need location.
Update: Turning off all of the location services does not fix the issue.
However looks like uninstalling Google Maps Updates DOES FIX the problem.
What about turning off GPS?

Yea All location services i meant GPS too.
But uninstalling Map updates does fix the issue.
I am seeing a lot of kernel wakelocks from this in BBS, but can't find anything about it online. Does anyone know what it is?
First time I see it today, so I searched and I see you have the same problem.
Today is the first day I've been on 3G (no LTE in my area) all day, with WiFi disconnected, and BetterBatteryStats shows FastDormancy and mdm_hsic_pm0
Causally related? I am fairly sure FastDormancy is causally related to the 3g stuff, but not sure about mdm_hsic_pm0 - it's possible?
I'm on the i317M, though, so maybe that could help us troubleshoot.
Yes, I have indeed seen other reports of mdm and FastDormancy occurring simultaneously, but I don't have FastDormancy at all.
I have been unable to find any info on mdm since this post. There are a couple threads like this on other forums, so far none with answers though. It appears it is occurring with the GS3, as well.
If anyone else has any info, it would be much appreciated....

I am getting the same thing which is driving me nuts. I loose more battery overnight while sleeping then during the day when I sporadically use my device due to this.
Anyone?
i'm having this wakelock as well. can't find any information on it...anyone else?
People are saying in another thread that it's the "l2 hsic" for jellybean and it has to do with charging. One possible solution is to wake phone and go to home screen before unplugging charger. Also pulling battery for a couple minutes may help.

I Disabled Fast Dormancy and that wake lock disappeared.
I'm not sure if we can get rid of the mdm_hsic_pm0 one.

Bump, any updates on this?
Double Bump!
Like a camel!

Finally, humanity is defeated by software bug
Just a hunch, this might have something to do with location or GPS. My wakelock with this doubled with GPS on for the day. While I had roughly the same amount of wakelocks from the Google maps location updaters.

any update on this? Recently happend to me and i went from 38 hours battery life to 18. Now granted yes thats still good. Nonetheless i want this to stop.
I am getting this same wakelock and it's seriously getting on my nerves. My phone rarely ever gets to enter deep sleep because of this. Is this related to certain ROMs or is it effecting all note IIs?

Hey guys I'm from the Verizon Note 2. I actually made a search on Google this morning and it led me hear. I recently noticed a decrease in my battery life and seem to have the same problem as you guys, mine only caused about 35mins of wake time yesterday but if we could remove it the better for all of us.
There's also stuff I'm not really aware of if I can freeze or trash it all together. I'm new to this battery stats app. I added other pictures of possible stuff killing my battery, it seemed ebay mobile was a contender as well so i trashed it lol. I'm also on a custom ROM.

Probably the single.best thing you can do for your battery is to get. Google maps to stop reporting your location all day.
Go into the settings of Maps and disable reporting, unless you need it for something of course.

Which as far as I can tell has nothing to do with this specific wakelock, which sometimes causes my phone to never go into deep sleep.
Yes, maps is obnoxious and causes plenty of its own wakelocks, but if mdm_hsic_pm0 is keeping my phone awake 100% of the time it's pretty irrelevant.
Hey guys my friend has the vz HTC one and her GPS is always on. I turned her GPS off and even disabled location services. I cannot figure out what is causing this but it's only giving her 1 hour of screen on time. I get over 4 on my att version no way it can be that different. When u go to power in settings and click on the graph it shows a solid blue bar for GPS on. Has anyone else experienced this, and more importantly does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance.
Hmm, that doesn't seem normal. I leave both GPS and location services on all the time and my graph barely shows GPS usage.
This happens even when GPS is manually turned off? Is she running stock?

Yea I know it makes no sense....I do the same GPS is never on for me unless using maps.
Yes she is completely stock. I'm curious if either a wipe is necessary, which she is against or maybe a defective unit.

Factory reset really is a pain in the a** but most of the problems I've ever had with Android have been solved with a reset.
Update.....I disabled Verizon location services wiped cache and data re enabled it didn't see her for a couple days and now it's working properly even with GPS on all the time. Not sure if that's what fixed it but it's the only thing I did, and she wouldnt have done anything.
When I first bought the phone, I turned on 4g, then turned it off..
but the 4g icon would stay in the status bar.
I was already at the VZW store for another reason so I went to show a rep, and of coarse, the icon goes away.
bahhh
hope to hear all is well with this!
I have a problem with wifi. In battery stats wifi has more consumption as screen.
I never seen it on any other android smartphone in my house.
Somebody with this behavior? I am using latest stock.
Check Location>Wifi Scanning
any other idea
thx, i disable scanning in location, reboot, after week still wifi 1st in battery consumption, it's not big problem, battery life on this phone is excellent, but can be better
It's a wrong report from Android, your WiFi is not draining your battery (a few of us have the same problem, me included). I don't know where it comes from but you can just ignore it (there's no real way to fix the issue I'm afraid)
Mine was doing the same - and I use Chrome a lot for web surfing
Disable Location permissions in Chrome (Settings->Apps->Chrome->Permissions->Location Off)
ok, i just ignoring it, not big deal, battery life is fine, i just was wondering if can be even better everybody know android is quite tricky
Some screenshots would be great, so people can help.
That's the kind of problem he is having, which is just a bug from Android ?

Now it is gone. Hope it helps.

Are you guys only seeing this reporting when wifi is on but not connected? Or all the time?
Only had the device 2 days, but no sign of it for me - wifi on, background scanning and network notification also on. Only been out of wifi coverage for a few hours though.

It's when the WiFi is on (connected or not).
OK, some say it's a bug, others say it's no biggie since the large battery, but.... I used to get home after a 12 hr days work, and have 4-5 hrs sot and still 20-30% left. Now I need to keep the phone charged, because it's down to 10 % halfway... That IS a BIGGIE.... And for those who say it's just a stats thingie, well, if this thingie shows 0%: your phone WILL shut down!
Ive tried ALL tips, NOTHING works. Period. What bugs me most is that I don't know why! I turned off scanning, cleared cache, reboot, etc, heck, I even did multiple factory resets, NO GO on any of those!
Believe me I'm happy for those that have solved the issue, but this should have never happened.
After consulting Motorola's customer services I was advised to send it back for repair, and so I did. I need to get it back still, but if this really is a bug, than:
SHAME ON YOU MOTOROLA/LENOVO.
You need to fix this asap, because it really IS a BIGGIE!
Even when it was disabled all the time.
you have to disable location scanning for bluetooth and wifi. I've had the same issue. I also dont use high accuracy location. I use device only to save battery and prevent wifi from turning on. It drains crap ton of battery.
Yea! I had also disabled it and made one thread for this so let other knows the solution.
