I've been looking for a good flash browser and photon ticks most of the boxes as its perfect for some live streaming sites I use. The only down side for me is the ads, I don't like downloading these apps for a couple of days pass and don't want to pay for a year long pass. Does anyone have any alternatives I could try ?
Firefox usually works pretty well for me on flash sites.

Firefox is fine for most flash content but it doesn't seem to work with live content which is what I need

Whats you favorite web browser? i have Dolphin, xscope, firefox and skyfire installed
That's overkill. lol I'm very happy with the Dolphin HD browser. I love the tabs, the tools, and the add-ons. I haven't even tried any other browser because I've been so happy with this one.
I use Stock Browser on Sense. I stopped using it because of the reflow crap, but someone on this board released a flashable version of the browser with that disabled, so now im loving it!
And sometimes I use the MIUI browser too, just because it has full screen support. Stock browser does too, but whenever loading different pages, it pulls the notification bar down while the MIUI browser keeps all of that up until you press the menu button.
I always preferred stock, but im diggin Firefox.
I read a review of Skyfire 2.0 that said it was the best browser out as far speed and proper page rendering. I have not tried it yet myself. Also Opera mobile 10.1 for android is supposed to be released tomorrow(9th). Ask me again on Wednesday and I will let you know then which is my favorite. Right now I am leaning towards Skyfire 2.x as it is supposed to allow you to view embedded video that the other browsers won't play.
Just tried Firefox, and I can't stand it. I like using Chrome and Firefox for Windows, but they got some work to do on that. Loading websites, pinchzoom, and ease of use are horrible.
I love the stock browser, and the MIUI Charming browser is growing on me. I like it more than anything at this point.
Skyfire FTW. Best browser hands down in my opinion. zooming and moving around through pages is much more fluent than Dolphin or Stock for that manner.. Mozilla is just garbage. Also skyfires quick access to the feature letting you choose between "desktop, android, or iphone" viewing modes makes browsing quicker and easier
my thoughts
I have tried skyfire, fennec, dolphin and dolphin HD, and opera. wanted to try xscope but im not paying for it no way! out of all of them i found the stock browser to work the best and opera came in second it was faster than all the other 3 party browsers and had nice easy to use tabs but after installing myn's i never re-downloaded it. happy with stock browser.
I do like the opera browser but one thing that bothered me is I had problems downloading from sites that were setup like megaupload, fileserve, rapidshare. These sites would be very buggy and acted weird not letting me download the files I was trying to get (roms, and movies). Usually the counter you had to wait for would bug out or the link would never appear/work. So until that is fixed I've been sticking with Stock.
What browser do you all use and which one do you consder the best?
I was using stock browser but recently i watched some anime on internet sites and they were practicali unwatchable, wery laggy and choppy, everything else works and loads ok but I was wondering is there any better then stock browser
I use Miren browser, also check out dolphin HD and opera.

Use miren browser with tegrak kernel. Best experience ever
Miren Browser Enhanced Copy-Paste
xScope - best paid browser IMO!
i've tried every browser possible for the past 2 days because i was looking for alternatives myself.
i ended with this conclusion personally:
free - dolphin browser mini
paid - xScope
i'm using xScope now because it's pretty minimalistic and it's quite fast a browser especially with many tabs opened!
I did a very quick test of free browsers, only set HOME page, open, close, choose Skyfire...
Miren browser. Gives me full screen browsing.
Miren Browser

Retested Miren, I didnt like the way it shows gmail, probably customizable, didnt have time to check, but it is much faster, so of went Skyfire...
I was using skyfire, but after trying Miren for a small while I might switch gunna need to see if I can change a few things like I have with skyfire but so far I like
From my GTi9000
Frankly I dont think the screen is large enough for "standard" browser stuff, only use it rarely, I prefer specialized apps, like FotMob Soccer Scores, Google Maps, etc...
Even with reading glasses...
So speed is the most important factor for me...
uu, nice sugestions, thanks, keep them coming i will try them all, it doesnt matter if its paid or free as long as its good
after following this thread. i'm tied up between Miren and xScope.
both are equally fast with nice simplistic interfaces. shall keep both and see how they develop. xScope is my main browser still!
I want something that wouldn't lag while playing mafia wars on facebook. Any suggestions!?!?
skyfire the best free..... or xScope the best not free
dolphin bowser mini here
Love the stock on the sgs. But I also use Miren a lot when I need to use multiple tabs.
I wish the stock browser had better tab switching. But Miren is great thought it has a few bugs.
Ain't no browser is better than Stock i9000 browser..
Firefox is too slow, Opera can't show some pages in right order.. Miren, Dolphin and other browsers from asia are useless because of too many controls and bars on display.. I wanna browse the page, not just staring at URL bar and so..
So for me, the stock browser has no compete
The only problem of stock browser is that you can't download some files.

Sorry if this has been asked...having some trouble with search on the XDA App.
What do you guys think is the likelihood of a WP7 version of Amazon's Cloud Player? I've personally read conflicting attitudes about it.
Some say Amazon will naturally spread to all platforms, while others claim that Amazon is specifically investing only in Android. What do you guys think?

That app is based on Board Express which is... meh.
Amazon is investing a lot in Android. They also launched an App Store with a Web and App interface that rival's the Google offering. They just need more Devs to submit their app there. On my Vibrant I basically only use the Amazon Appstore app now. All the porn, bull**** in Chinese, trash apps that do nothing, apps that aren't even maintained anymore, etc. is instantly filtered out there... Plus, they give away one paid app per day.
Will it spread to WP7? Maybe. Is it really needed? No. Android needs something like that because it's a terrible media platform compared to iOS and WP7. I reckon WebOS may get it. But it really isn't needed on WP7 and iOS, IMO.
The only really good benefit would be the ability to save storage on your device and upload gigs of media to Amazon's servers and just stream it from there. I guess that's a big enough reason to want it for many people...
Yeah, that's a big reason for me.
Then again, I'm probably going to use Zune Pass once I'm on WP7 (I've used it off and on for several years otherwise). Since most of the music that I already own is on Zune Pass, I suppose that will eliminate the need for personal cloud storage. I can always just locally store the music from the few artists who aren't on board with Zune. (I'm looking at you, Tool.)
I think there is a great chance Amazons MP3 - cloud player will come to WP7. Amazon is first a content company. The more devices that can access and purchase content the better for them.
It's a win win with their push to android and also enabling content on other platforms. Plus they did provide WP7 with the kindle and shopping apps.
Have you tried Amazon Cloud Player in IE Mobile 9?
Yes, it works.
this is a 3rd party app in the works i think...

Hey guys,
I posted this question in the Nexus 7 forums too in hopes of finding an answer.
I'm a long time Android user, and a very proud one at that. I recently got my Nexus 7, and I'm extremely happy with it.
I was shocked to see that some "flash video" works in the default Chrome Browser? I have not installed Flash or any other add on that I can think of. But I'm pleasantly surprised to see that I can view and play some videos on website which I believe is using Flash.
For example:
http://ca.ign.com/articles/2012/08/03/new-super-mario-bros-2-review
http://www.comingsoon.net/
These sites work perfectly fine with my Nexus 7 Chrome Browser.
However, how come these don't work on my Chrome Browser for my Galaxy Nexus?
The Chrome Browser is the same version 18.0.102523 on all 3 devices.
Can someone explain why is this the case?
Thank you all for your on going support in these forums.
Bill
This Question was resolved... see last post
Can anyone else confirm if the videos in the links above work for you? I'm told its working on the Nexus 7 because its HTML5. However, this should be enabled anyhow for the Galaxy Nexus Chrome Browser too. I tested some sites that specifically says HTML5 video, and I have confirmed that they play in my Galaxy Nexus Chrome Browser.
So I'm still mind boggled as to what is the reason they still play in my Nexus 7 but not on my Galaxy Nexus.
Any ideas?
Bill
IGN article worked. Second link, no videos showed up.

Thanks for your feedback DirgeExtinction,
Oh sorry,
in the 2nd link, the video needs to be clicked on the right side of the page, right under TRAILERS and VIDEOs. When I click it, the "No Plug In" page pops up, which isn't the case with my Nexus 7.
Damn, so you got the 1st link working huh... I'm wondering why I'm not able to see this.
Can anyone else confirm this?
Bill
Works here tooooo

Hey Guys,
Thanks for your confirmations... I finally figured out what was causing the problem... although I feel this is a bug:
When you view a website with the "request desktop site" option checked (which I prefer),
the HTML5 video links are broken.
However, if you view the desktop website using the website's "View Full Site" link instead of using the Chrome Browsers "request desktop site" option, the HTML5 video links work!
Thanks Everyone.
For the first link, the video is played under HTML5, not flash. If you force the browser to load the page in desktop format, you will see the flash addon is not available.
Ya, I realized it isn't flash now, thanks to all those that replied., but it's an HTML5 video issue when you use Chrome's Request Desktop Site option.

So I like using Chrome because I can't stand the stock browser and Firefox basically sucks Ass through a straw. The only thing I hate is the ads and pop ups and crap that I can easily block out with adblock extension on Firefox. I'm having a hard time finding anything that can help me on chrome and I don't want that damn adblock browser for android. Anyone have any tips on how to get rid of ads and pop ups (especially pop ups) in Chrome?
Adguard for browser only blocking is free but you can get a free premium trial to evaluate all of its services, including ad blocking on all apps.
Works with non rooted devices but expanded for rooted devices. There is a version for Samsung and Yandex Browser on Google Play but you don't want that for Chrome browser; goto the link below.

Adguard is on XDA as well with a beta program. They've always been helpful and available for me.
