JellyBAM 7.X P930 4.2.2 ROM (Unofficial Discussion Thread) - LG Nitro HD

Because of whatever happened in the past, JellyBam is not on XDA... however they produce a quality ROM for the P930 and it deserves a look. If having a discussion thread for it is bad juju, mods please lock this up. Please no politics or arguing about who did what in the past... let's just limit this thread to discussion about the ROM itself.
I am in no way associated with the JellyBam team.
That said, I'm getting fantastic performance and battery life out of version 7.1, and version 7.2 has now been released. Use with latest Wind or Quattrimus kernel for best results.
If you've used PAC-ROM, this one will be familiar... all the Paranoid Android stuff is there.

It's always nice to have another ROM option for us flashaholics, so have fun!

Had no luck dirty flashing 7.2. BSODs like crazy. Rolled back to my 7.1 backup until I have more time to do a full wipe.

I am able to flash 7.2 only after a full wipe but had stability issues still. Also the lock screen weather app kept showing invalid data?? Haven't seen any reported issues on the Jelly Bam website. I too rolled back to 7.1 next to perfect IMO. The only thing I wish it had was the ability to change the lock screen wallpaper unless anyone has any ideas?
Sent from my LG-P930 using xda app-developers app

I'm getting very good battery life with 7.1 and wind 1.7... The customization features in this rom are great but it seems like they left out some settings for the lock screen, such as change wallpaper and use menu button to unlock device... Does anyone know where I could find these options or are they simply just not available?

Thanks for starting this thread. Like I mentioned in the wind kernel discussion; a ROM+kernel combo with this kind of battery life shouldn't be hidden in these forum. I come here for all my android needs thinking it wasn't missing anything (at least anything major). Lesson learned
Again, +thanks for taking the time to put this thread up for us.

Anybody have any luck yet with 7.2? It appears they are already rolling out 7.3 to some devices; maybe it will resolve some of my issues in 7.2.
Happy at the moment with 7.1 though.

Thanks. I am giving this a try.

I did a full wipe then 7.3, so far all is good. Battery is awesome.
Hopefully all the Bluetooth fixes make it upstream to the CM source so this ROM gets them.

Jellybam 7.3 Progress
Only 1 bsod and a random reboot for me so far and great battery life with WIND kernel as always. I'm pretty sure the BSOD and reboot were user error though when I flashed 7.3 along with zelda sounds ( love the lock screen noise XD), bravia engine, and Acid sound and Wind almost back to back after I cleared the cashes. After couple reboots and cashe clears those things stopped dead in their tracks and worked their way out. Been up all night since I posted 7.3 so everything is great.
Although still can't figure out why it dims the screen out of nowhere lol, maybe its a setting? Oh well simple imperfection in a ocean of awesomness and everything just keeps getting better!
This is kinda off topic but anyone up for some Key Lime Bam! in the future haha? Maybe for another thread.

Why is it that with this rom using the stock keyboard "i" isn't auto corrected to "I" (press space after typing "i" and it just stays lowercase)...it's annoying the hell out of me. Worked fine with CM10.1 nightlies

Probably little to no differences between 4.1.1 and CM10 yet, as all of AOSP has been merged and CM9 is being finished prior to major testing of merging CM9 features into CM10.
Does it have t9 dialer? Otherwise im happy with stock
Holy moly, CM10 already?
I thought it would be months before we'd see anything. And, yes, I'm impulsive enough to flash an alpha.

Me too.. but I'm using Notification Toggle app with CM9 custom icons and it's working fine.
The only thing I miss from CM9 is themes support, but honestly JB is sooooooo smooth that is the first time I'm considering stick with an original ROM, not CM or other custom.

Confirmed. The camera is borked. It's pretty snappy. Looks a little different here and there and the system sounds are noticeably louder than stock. There's probably more that's been changed...I mean obviously cm kernel is there. Can't be a daily of course, but WOW! that was FAST!

Seems to be working great for me so far. I have LTE speeds and 4G in the notification bar. GPS locked down to 3 meters within seconds in Google Maps. I haven't messed around with bluetooth or wifi yet, but will report back if I encounter problems. Thanks for this release.

Yeah pls tell us more, is it Blur debloated or just normal? Is it motorola made to flash fastboot or use safestrap?
Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk 2
Well like I said it's just a stock ROM, it's nothing fancy. Just some different apps in it, but I've implemented some really good build.prop tweaks that I use on ROMs for the various other devices I build for.
It's somewhat debloated but since I don't have the RAZR M, I don't really know what all I can debloat and what needs to stay in there. (That's where the testers come in)
It is not a factory image or anything for fastboot. It's just a regular ROM to be flashed through safestrap. The following would be some of the features, but more features would be added. This would just be a stock deodexed base build:
Somewhat Debloated
Apex Launcher
Google Music
AdFree Android
SMS Flash (Like SMS Popup)
Built-In Gapps
Kernel Logging Disabled for speed
Increased Dalvik VM Heap for more speed
Improved Scrolling

This rom is GREAT! I have tried a few and this one if by far my favorite. Question though: I feel as if I am getting way more volume than I wanted, is there a volume mod/boost on this thing that I am not aware of? Also, the acid sound mod and sound enchancements (in system settings) - what do they do? I have been tring to figure out the ins and outs of this rom, I found out how to use multiwindow from another user, but is there a general guide for all these features some where that I'm missing? I just donated to SAC today for all his hard work, it's greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Chemistry Rom is that deal I love how me having my phone flashed to boost and being able to use all the main functions like mms and voice mail all working with this ROM. Now what will be great if we can get call record added into it...

Lockscreen issue
Been running this ROM for a few days now and I've run into this issue a couple times. Sometimes when my phone restarts the lockscreen is rotated 90 degrees and I cant do anything. The only thing that seems to fix it is wiping dalvik. Any ideas as to whats going on here? It's obviously not a huge issue, but it's annoying.
Been using this for weeks. Its awesome, everything works. Just wondering if it'll work if I flash ma6 update? I just don't wanna screw up a good thing.

Thank you so much for rom, but a few questions.
Thank you so much sac23, this rom is amazing and the perfect solution for anyone who wants a stock TW feel rom with added functionality.
Ive been running the rom for about 2 weeks now, i have a couple questions, and a single bugs i may have found on this otherwise 100% perfect rom.
first, i had the phone crash 2-3 times. once was when switching between apps... the actual window that pops up to force close the app because it crashed has some !$# thing on the options. I also experienced this is i save a game file, on asphalt7 and leave the game by "quitting" although its not only isolated to this exact app, i am able to replicate it regularly.
second, i had a few questions
1- is there any way to make the toggles not shrink the icons when it gets to the last 10% of closing the notification menu? it makes it look twitchy when you open it fast.
2- i was checking out this "criskelo toggles" add on you put, but if i do it, how do i revert back if i dont like it?
3- is there any way to change the battery icon in the notification menu so that it doesnt display a percentage INSIDE the battery? i prefer using the stock percentage next to the battery, so its annoying having 2 battery percentages.
4-where can i donate? you guys deserve a reward for your work =P
I just wanted to update with a bug or two I found.
1-after taking a screenshot, pulling down the expanded notification drawer, clicking edit causes a force close/crash.
2- Gps tag in stock tw camera app is broken.
Das it! Thanks again devs

[Q] Stable CM10 ROM

I am giving my second Defy (green lens) to my mother to use. I usually use this phone to test out all the new roms and have Quarx CM10 9th April rom at the moment. It's a great rom but doesn't receive wifi very well and may have other issues I haven't tested yet. Can someone advise me as to the most stable CM10 rom for general use? My 80 year old mother is no beta tester so I need to give her something very stable.
I'm sorry if this sounds like a "best Rom" post but I need to know this.
Thanks.

Do we need to use the launcher and dialer?
How frequent are lags and reboots?
Thanks!
---------- Post added at 09:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:16 PM ----------
I just posted a new question but I just saw this question and it's got the same purpose. This is the original text:
I'm using Quarx Nightly CM10 20120924. I wonder if there's a more stable ROM out there. I've been updating the nightlies until I tried to move to 2nd boot and had big problems that made me fall back to this one.
It's pretty hard to know how stable are the following versions. Does anyone know about a more STABLE one? I'm still getting big lags.
Thanks!

I know it's hard to rate a rom, but I'll try to describe CM10 20120924 problems in a quantitative way.
This ROM has many lags and reboots but I think it's considered pretty good though. It lags quite frequently at the lock screen. It unexpectedly reboots around once a week. It's quite annoying and sometimes I need my phone quickly and I lose 5 to 10 minutes to do what I want due to freezes and reboots. I wouldn't recommend definitely to someone who's not tech savvy.

No need for launcher/dialer.
Just don't go for an experimental build - everything else should be fine. 18/03 served me well.
