Hey All.
I have stock D710 with a baseband version of EL29. I'm trying to go to the new GB27 version and am unable. Whenever I try to update through Kies I get a message that my firmware isn't supported.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Sorry buddy, you in the s3 section. D710 is the s2.

Hi this is going to sound a bit silly but after going out in the deep end with cm10 i decided to odin back to stock. Thinking it would be easy to root again. that turns out not to be the case. I seem to need a clean kernel that can be odined but all i can find are flash kernels and since i lost cwm as well as root i am not able to flash anything. a bit of pointing in the right direction would be helpful. I have read all the wikis but they are mainly for froyo and i flashed the gingy rom.
thanks

When you clicked on the forums did you see on the top it said "Epic 4G Touch General"? Son, that means this is not the Q&A forums and you cannot post questions here.

your asking for a GS3 firmware on a carrier S2 thread ???
the 4.2.2 of S3 already has 2 leaks and official should be around the corner
anyway next time use the proper thread or someone will report

Also no one but the carrier/manufacturer knows when the next update will be...it will be out when it is out.
At best you get a few days notice.
If I get the S3 flashed then switch phone numbers on my account, will I need to call *228 for OTA programming? If so, will it need a reflash to continue to work with PP?
I'm guessing no on this one... but will rooting the S3 require a reflash?

Got my answer... yes, of course. Don't know why I was thinking otherwise. Oh well.
