Boot animations have a lot more . Pngs then you would think. If you open up a bootanimation. Zip there is a part 0, part 1 and and a desc. Txt
.... For example the bootani in the pic which is the stock jb ani has 110. Pngs

If you have photoshop you can make it yourself as well.
Download gif splitter
Run the gif through gif splitter
Open every pic in photoshop
Resize img and resize canvas untill you get 720w by 1280h pixels.
Then save files as png
Then place them in folder called part0
Then grab the desc.txt file from another boot animation for the note ii [there are some in my post on the subject]
Make sure it only has a part0 line. [Use notepad++, do not use notepad]
Save
If you have winrar
Select part0 and desc.txt togetuer [not the folder there in but the folder and the file so its in the base of the archive.
Right click
Add to archive
Select zip option
Select store only
Then name it bootanimation
Done
Wintout winrar
Replace the desc.txt with the one u made in the zip by deleting tue one in the zip and adding urs
Then replace part0 by depeting the one in zip and adding urs
Delet any other part folders in zip
Done
Place in system/media [after a backup]
Reboot
If it dosent run restore backup as you may not hit the lock screen.
There is information on the subject.
Google it
You can also use jpg and bmp but I wouldent recomend it as there are issues with both with regards to transparancys and img size and loading speed and generaly looking bad with jpg compression.

Zip it using WinRAR or 7zip, using Store compression method.
Make sure your desc.txt is consistent, eg if you only have one folder then only one entry should be used on desc.txt.
Bootanimation is consisted of images (for me seems that OP is trying to make a boot animation using videos), I mostly use PNG and JPEG/JPG.
A new boot animation doesn't increases the boot time, unless you use a super awesome boot animation that has 50+Mb size. Try to keep it small.
I don't know if this will change something, but I've never used a interlaced PNG file. So, don't save PNG as interlaced.
Remember to set the correct permissions on phone!
I think this should be enough for your bootanimations to work Also, check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678540.
Okay here is your answer...Also go check mine- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663859
Making zip(easy way):
1.Download bootanimation creator and previewer- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1234611
2.Install both
3.Take your .png files and copy them into part0 and part1(If u have one)folders
4.Copy both those folders into one new folder
5.Open bootaniamation creator and select your folder
6.change your values fps etc.
7.Set loop for part0 folder to 1
8.Set loop for part1 folder to 10
9.Save bootanimation and copy to system/media
Making flashable zip:
1.Copy your bootanimation.zip (The one u made above rename to bootanimation.zip) to a new folder named media and cut media into a new folder named system
2.Zip it up
3.Download META-INF folder (atached) and extract it - http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?l4opf3nn4w10p0a
4.Go inside the folder and go in META-INF/com/google/android
5.Open Updater-Script with notepad++/Scite(I prefer it) I already made it just edit bootanimation created by ...
5.And add it to your zip
Also when u create a flashable zip permisions will be set as it is in updater-script so this should resolve your problem as it forces the phone to set permisions
Making a preview:
1.Go to gif ninja.com
2.Uploud your .png's in your part folders
3.Create the gif
4.Wait....
5.Right click on image and click properties
6.Copy the link
7.Use it as a image in XDA!
Happy bootanimation making!Hope this helped!if it did not please drop me a pm would love to help!
here my creation : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3-NCstEO255RmNISXZwa1ducFk/view?usp=docslist_api
But it does not work. leave a blank screen. Pls someone test and tell my fault
This DOES NOT work on the i9300/note 2 and never will, please stop asking about it.
Please take all questions/discussion to the d2_vzw thread HERE because it is the only one I'll monitor!
Thanks to the work of invisiblek and some Google searching I was able to come up with the following tool:
This tool takes a 720x1280 .PNG image and converts it to a recovery-flashable splash screen in a single click.
A video so you can see what this changes: http://youtu.be/XXaBJTVQ2Sw
How to use:
Making your own splash screen:
0) Download and extract the .zip file
1) Make a 720x1280 .png image you want to be your splash screen (this comes in-between the boot animation and the quick Samsung logo flash)
2) Name it "initlogo.png" without the quotes
3) Place it in the PNGtoConvert folder
4) Run the "PNG-2-RLE.bat" file
5) You are finished! A "flashthisinrecovery.zip" will appear in the same directory as the batch files. Just flash it in recovery and enjoy your new splash screen!
Note: If you want the .RLE and not the whole flashable, it can be found as "initlogo.rle" in the "kernel" folder or you can pull it from the kernel folder inside the "flashmeinrecovery.zip"
Converting an .RLE that you made back to a .PNG for editing:
0) Download an extract the .zip file
1) Copy the "initlogo.rle" you want to convert to a .PNG to the RLEtoConvert folder. It must be named "initlogo.rle"
2) Run the "RLE-2-PNG.bat"
3) PNG will be in the PNGtoConvert folder named "initlogoOUTPUT.png"
Other notes:
I have included the stock initlogo as a .PNG named "initlogoSTOCKBACKUP.png" for your reference/backup purposes. If you want to test the tool with it, remember to rename it to initlogo.png
If you flash a new kernel/rom the splash will revert to stock. To get it back, just flash the "flashmeinrecovery.zip" again. You don't need to reconvert it or anything.
This has only been tested with the d2_vzw but will work with all USA (S4 CPU) variants!

Works on Sprint GSIII. Seemed odd and redundant that .png would be in the name for the initlogo and indeed it did not work that way. Saving it as a PNG file with the name "initlogo" only did the trick, which makes sense.
I modified Max's terrific logo to exclude the MetroPCS tag and it is attached. Looks great.
if you want it I can attach the full sized one without the MetroPCS logo. that's just the stock logo with some Photoshop filters applied.

SINCE IM REALLY BORED RESIZING AND DOING THINGS...
ill just teach you how to port that bootanim
FIRST SEARCH FOR THAT BOOTANIMATION IN XDA...
NOW DOWNLOAD IT
EXTRACT THE BOOTANIMATION.ZIP AFTER DOWNLOAD
GET THE IMAGES IN PART 1 FOLDER
RESIZE THEM USING PHOTO EDITORS... 240x320
NOW DELETE THE UNRESIZED IMAGES IN PART 1 AND MOVE THE RESIZED IMAGES IN IT...
AFTER THAT
OPEN PART 2 FOLDER
GET THE IMAGES OF IT
RESIZE THEN USING PHOTO EDITORS... 240widthx320height
NOW DELETE THE UNRESIZED IMAGES IN PART 2 AND MOVE THE RESIZED IMAGES IN IT...
OPEN DESC.TXT
FIND XXXX.XXX.................. XXXX.XXX should be a resolution change that to 240x320
save done
zip it again

Well, what files did you have to edit/modify? Reading your first post it sounds like you replaced a file within the home.apk itself? Any files that you copied into system/apps DEALING with getting this to work can be zipped and uploaded to drop box or box.com
So make a .zip of your modified launcher and the themes; and upload them.
Also what program did you use to copy the classes file to the original lghome3.apk?

Here is a Zip and in which you will need to unzip. Its NOT a flashable zip you will still need to copy the files over using an Root Explorer app. But extract the zip and copy everything from that folder to system/app
http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+Optimus+G+Pro/Mods/
also In the link above is zip with the STOCK LGHome just in case you forget to backup
Besure to reboot and or have an Launcher like nova installed just in case the mod does not work for you so you can easily put the original one back.
This works Great for me
