Ok I've been scouring these forums for solutions for the past couple days and so far everything is just getting worse.
I installed the Lifeless v14 rom using CWR in order to get Jelly Bean. However, my WiFi stopped working after getting this, after some research is seemed a lot of people were having trouble with wifi using Jelly Bean. So I installed Lifeless v11 in order to solve the WiFi problem, but instead of solving the WiFi problem my WiFi wouldn't even turn on anymore and I lost all service. Then, not knowing what was going on, I tried the Rooted Stock ZV9 rom over in the android development forums. When I try to turn my phone on now, the buttons at the bottom light up, but the screen remains blank. I can reach fastboot mode and I've reached recovery before, though I'm not sure how I did it. I finally got fastboot to detect my phone over usb, and it seems my EFS got messed up during one of these steps causing the loss of service from Sprint.
I need to get a working rom on my phone through fastboot in order to repair my EFS using the guide in the development forums. I don't want to mess it up anymore than I already have. I would appreciate any help anyone can offer.
My phone is the LG-LS970.
Thanks for everyone's time who read this post.
Ok so I have some updates on my phones status. I replaced CWM with TWRP 2.4.4.0 and then used the adb sideloader to flash stock jelly bean. Now the phone boots, but it will shut it's self down directly after booting the home screen.
If you were coming from ZV9, and went to ZVB via flash able zip. Then you probably need to install this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38750462

First let me say ive used this site many times and never needed to post as all my questions were already answered, so for the many times ive not needed to post thank you all for being so great and helpful!!
That being said im hoping im just using the incorrect rom or going about it wrong. we switched carriers at work and my sprint lgog is sitting in a drawer while my wife uses a droid 4 on a regional carrier because they cant flash phones running JB. So for mothers day i thought i would downgrade to ICS and get this phone flashed for her. Thus far ive managed to root, unlock bootloader and fix two softbricks using teenybin's work. The softbricks came after trying to install both LS970ZV9_ODEX_STOCKROOT_1_13 and LS970ZV9_DEODEX_STOCKROOT_1_13 using twrp. I selected backup and wipe before doing both. Is there a different rom i need to use post VZB to install a ICS rom? or are these roms ok im just installing them improperly? TIA
*update* after trying to install the LS970ZV9_02.bin update with lgnpst the phone hung at 85% and upon reboot would hang at the 4glte screen, I tried teenybin unlocker again and the phone wouldnt boot at all. The lg logo would flash and then blank screen...i couldnt seem to toggle the power at all and it wouldnt even charge on wall charger. after 20 mins of frantic "oh #^#$" button pressing i finally got it to go into recovery mode and recovered back to zvb. It seems mostly back to normal now other than the wifi doesnt seem to be on even though it says its on, no emblem in notification area and wont connect to my wifi when told to.
*update2* after doing factory restore i got my wifi working properly. So i then rerooted and then reinstall teenybin with lgnpst i was able to get into twrp and restore my primary backup.... So now i THINK im back to square 1, rooted, unlocked vzb...at least everything seems to be back to normal. 3rd time is the charm which in this case means i think im going to wait to hear from someone more knowledgeable than i before i screw something up i cant fix
4th attemt 4th fail
so i tried to flash LS970ZV9_02, a totally stock unrooted, locked rom i found here on xda...i did a factory reset before booting into twrp, wiped cache and dalvik, loaded the rom and it boot looped....:crying: i dont know what im doing wrong unless these phones just refuse to downgrade....
I suggest you get on the optimus g IRC. They are very helpful. You may need to find the older radios and flash those after you downgrade. LGNPST should work, normally when it reboots at 85% its a good indication that it worked properly. Perhaps you could find a copy of the ls970zv8.bin and try to install that. Good luck.

Hi,
I have had my lg Optimus G for quite sometime now, almost since it came out. I have had it rooted since day 1 of owning it. We received the JVC firmware update, and i followed the instructions to install and re-root. It was all working just fine, wireless tether, all my root apps, ect. I went to test to see if my boot loader was still installed and i restarted my phone trying to bring up the custom recovery. It brought up the stock recovery menu. The only thing i can do now is go into stock recovery or download mode. It keeps rebooting. I just tried to LNGST but it just simply does the same thing after it reboots, it goes right back to stock recovery menu, or i can get it into download mode if its plugged in. Any suggestions on what i can try next? or is my phone completely pooched. I was using the JVB .bin during LNGST. Please any help you can provide would be awesome, this is my main means of communication.

A factory reset should get you going. You'll probably lose your SD with stock recovery reset though.

Well actually nothing in that menu worked, so i ended up trying teenybins a minute ago the stock zvb and it appears to have fixed my phone. I just reinstalled zvc on it. Im going to reroot and unlock with feegee again, i didnt unlock it last time, maybe thats what the issue was.
So i just Re-installed ZVC, and Re-rooted, and used Free-gee to gain unlock again. I have reboot several times and it looks like im good to go. Hopefully this forum will help people if they ever get the issues i did.
Hello,
Will try to explain the best I can. So I was using my GNex (sprint variant) which I had freshly unrooted and flashed back to 4.2.1 stock (then it OTA updated itself to 4.3). In hindsight, I realized that I forgot to lock it after unrooting it. Not sure if this contributed to the problem, but I figured it would be best for you guys to know.
I was using the phone last night, and the screen started to flicker, and eventually the phone shut off. It would not boot for the longest time. I plugged it into a wall and attempted to start up which it did, only to go directly into power shutdown (it said the battery was low). In addition to this, the screen was flickering and the screen eventually cut out.
This lead me to believe I had done something wrong in going back to stock-- when I boot the phone in recovery mode, there is no screen flickering, and the apparent low battery doesn't seem to be an issue.
I attempted to flash 4.2.1 using WugFresh's Nexus Root Kit-- Everything was a success until it notified me that the baseband was inappropriate for 4.2.1. My current baseband is L.700 GJ04 which I never updated myself-- so I can only assume this came from the OTA 4.3 update from Sprint. It notified me that it needed the GA02 radios, which I attempted to install via fastboot. The cmd prompt said the installs were successful for both the CDMA and LTE .img files, but on the bootloader screen, the device still reads as having the GJ04 radios.
When I attempt to start the device, it boots infinitely with the Google screen. Any thoughts on how to proceed? I can't find a factory image of the 4.3 update-- Would this fix this?
My apologies for sounding uneducated at some points. It's become apparent to me you can't half-ass tweaking with your phone's DNA...
Where to start...
First, as a disclaimer, I may use language or terms that sound noobish. I have rooted and run custom ROMs on several devices in the past, however generally when I get a ROM I like I stick with it, so I'm not constantly tinkering. I've done my best to search and find solutions so please go easy on me.
17 days ago I was running stock 4.3 on my SGNII when the battery died. Upon charging I found I was stuck in bootloop and had a bad /efs mount. I searched and searched and spent around 15 hours trying this and that but to no avail. I finally threw my hands in the air and got ahold of Josh at mobiletechvideos and he was able to fix the efs mount issue. However, he left me in factory mode which required me to root to get out of, and once I did this I was unable to activate data on my carrier (Ting). I was so happy to have my phone "back" though that I used it like this for 4 or 5 days. I could get on wifi and I could call and send text messages. I had been off the grid so this felt like something I'd fix fully later.
Well I kept reading and found "fix" after "fix", flashed this and that and still no dice. FINALLY, last night, I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2086769 which helped immensely. I was able to get TWRP flashed by unchecking the "auto-reboot" option in Odin and pulling the battery after the update took, and via TWRP I was able to install the ROM. I booted up, the device activated, I was running 4.1.2, I made and received some calls, the birds were chirping, the air was sweet...
I had struggled for so long and I had finally achieved success! Then, for seemingly no reason at all, I accepted an OTA update which bricked my Note2. Devastation.
The current state of things...
* Cannot get past the initial "Samsung Galaxy Note 2" screen
* Cannot boot into recovery
* I CAN get into dl mode,
* but, I CANNOT successfully flash anything. TWRP will flash like it took, but upon reboot I'm not able to boot into it. I'm also able to flash a ROM but it fails when it gets to sbin, and upon rebooting I'm greeted by the screen "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
When I try to use Kies it doesn't find the device. I've installed all of the most recent drivers and I'm running Kies as administrator. I select Tools > Emergency Firmware Recovery, THEN connect my device as instructed.
I'm at the apex of frustration. I beg thee to help!!
I have roughly the same situation. Was rooted and on an MK4 rom, battery ran down super fast yesterday and when charged, only get splash screen and slowly flashing blue light. I can get into Philz recovery but no matter what I try, no dice. Also can get into DL mode, but haven't been able to get anywhere. What the heck happened?
Well i bought another phone because of this problem of unknown baseband and 0 for everything in settings which didnt allow me to connect to sprint. Now when that happen it put me in safe mode . and i couldn't find a fix for months i ended up getting a lg g2 and let my note 2 collect dust. Well I'm using my note 2 and its up in running . my partition was messed up . if you have this issue which it sound like i can help. My phone was running fine then rebooted on its own and rebooted on safe mode with no signal

I tried flashing a kernel believed to be ExcaliBur on my HTC One M8, but as soon as i rebooted the screen was black yet still on.
I know it's not bricked completely because i can still hear sounds, feel vibrations and see the LED's work properly. Basically I have a "blind" phone. I have began to look into a way to capture my screen one frame at a time with my computer.
Please help me!

TWRP 2.8.0.3
Tried getting back to bootloader and flashing back the boot.img you had before flashing new kernel?
If the device still has "some" interaction then you should be able to connect it to PC and use the adb reboot bootloader command to boot it into bootloader.

I actually DID just get into my bootloader. I had to mess around by pressing the buttons until i finally got it to boot into bootloader. Now I flashed a stock kernel for now, I always keep it in my SD Card.
I found you can use a program called Wondershare MobileGo for Android that can read whatever is on your phone if you happen to be "blind" like me.
P.S. I really need a kernel for CMod that has fast charge. Currently ExcaliBur is off the list.
I haven't heard of Wondershare MobileGo, seems interesting.
I can't help with custom Kernels, I always stick with stock, haven't flashed a custom kernel since way back with my S3. Sorry, can't help there.
Thanks anyways! Notice I got my phone working again! I flashed the stock, and then reflashed CMod and nothing was wiped. Interestingly...

That's quite lucky, any other time I've heard of this happening the phone's died completely.
