I'm curious to hear about root methods for 4.1.2, specifically build JZ054K.I317UCAMA4.
I've asked in the root thread in original development, but have not received a response, and I'm itching to get this thing rooted and debloated, as AT&T and Samsung crapware is really eating up a lot of RAM that would otherwise be free.
Has anybody rooted 4.1.2 successfully? What method did you follow?

Hello All,
I just purchased the T-Mobile edition on the Galaxy S III and I ignorantly updated from ICS 4.0.4 to JB 4.1.1.
I want to root my phone. Am I screwed? Please help me I don't want to screw up my phone.
Thanks for any help.
Why would that be ignorant ?
Yes, you can root JB. Even if you couldn't, you could always flash back to ICS if it was that important to you.
Check out the other forums here and ctrl+f "root" - there are guides that will completely walk you through it. I used the root66 root-injected stock ROM to root my phone, it was the first time I'd ever done such a thing and the guide is well-written and goes baby-step by baby-step.

Any recommendations on the best ROM?
Have people become so lazy that they can't search?
Don't be a jerk. I have tried a few I was just asking what he thought was best that's all.
Comon bro, you made time to criticize but not to help.

I looked but I am unsure of which method to use, as in what is the difference between the CF-auto root and the CASUAL. Also which version of twrp do i use?
I used Casual.
After rooting, install GooManager and have it install TWRP.

just helping the average joe from bricking their phone
Okay I've searched various threads and everything, but I can't seem to find any answers. I'm well aware of all the Knox shiz, but I just need to know if there is anyway possible for me to return root to my galaxy. I took the shame of upgrading to 4.3 via OTA and of course, lost root and all the glorious additives it brought. Call me a noob or whatever, but I'm just in need of answers. :crying:

Thank you so much. It worked :highfive:
Im running a completely stock sprint gs3, it has 4.3 with knox. I want to root so I can then install a new rom. Probably cyanogen mod...but I'm open to suggestions. I know there can be issues with rooting when knox is on the phone. I have searched and found too many conflicting answers and bricking my phone isnt an option. Any help and guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hello big guys.
I'm a noob when it comes to roots and roms on phones.
I have been using the offical touchwiz still and is a little interested in rooting the phone and installing cyanogenmod to make it work faster.
I've read that there is a one click method to root called towelroot right now, I want to try it because I don't really understand how to root with other ways on the forum.
And I'm wondering if anyone has tried it before so I can use it and move on to the next step of flashing a custom rom.
Thank you in advance.

Unfortunately Towelroot doesn't support this device yet. I tried earlier today
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2623635 this is the link to the everything thread for the captivate glide. They have root instructions there, and they're pretty straightforward
Good luck!
