[Q] no ROM in recovery mode?? - HTC One X

Hello everyone,
I updated my HB to the lastest version, but unfortunetly it has somehow wiped everything on my sd card and my phone is stuck in a boot loop. I can not restore my back ups as everything has been wiped. I tried adb push, but this was not particularly successful. It only worked for smaller files, but a whole heap of text came up, something about the android debug bridge came up?? Someone please help!!

Same problem!!!

I went to clockworkmod recovery, then mounts and storage, then from there I could transfer the ROM back to the SD card. Installed a ROM called Blade RC 7 and its up and running

Pretty standard solution but good you got it solved

MoDaCo CyanogenMod 5.0.6 issue

Hey..
I just installed Paul's version of the cyanogen mod, which i downloaded from the MoDaCo website, but now my phone isn't working properly.
(android . modaco . com/content/htc-desire-desire-modaco-com/307607/01-may-5-0-6-test-r1-cyanogenmod-5-for-desire-online-kitchen/)
It boots just fine, but it doesn't recognize that i have a Micro-SD card and a SIM Card installed, and both my phone and my PC do not react when i plug in the USB cable. I have also tried going into recovery mode and run the .bat to get up the menu, but it just says "error: device not found"
Please help me, i am at a loss.
The nex-desire rom on here is based on cm and works just fine. Go with that instead?
I would love to try another ROM, or even just going back to factory settings, but how do i do that when my phone doesn't think that my SD card is installed and i can't connect it to my PC? :/
I have a nandroid backup image on my PC, by the way, if that helps
Boot phone into recovery and flash a different rom update .zip like the nex desire one from here.
i just don't see how i can
1. put a new ROM on my SD card when the USB connection doesn't work
2. get into recovery mode when the adb can't find my device.. i can get to the phone with the red warning triangle on it, but since adb can't find my device i cannot get the menu up
Thanks for replying, though!

To get an new ROM on SD card you can use a card reader.. This will solve half of your problem..
Sorry, I am not a tech person so I don't know how to get adb to recognize in such case..
Try to get Paul's answer in the Modaco Desire forum (you probably already tried).
Oh, one more idea, did you try to perform a factory reset from the settings/privacy menu?
Good luck.

All the stores are closed today, so i will have to wait until tomorrow to try with a card reader, since I don't own a micro-SD to SD adapter..
I tried doing a factory reset, but that just reloaded the cyanogen rom, as i expected..
Thanks for trying to help
Anyone have any other ideas while i wait for the stores to open? :>
EDIT: I just tried plugging in my old SIM Card from my old phone, and I am getting a signal on that.. is the new SIM Card toast?

[Q] Kindle Fire wifi won't turn on at all

hey everyone,
I normally don't post on here because I find the info without needing to, but I can't find this even with google fu, any help appreciated
Problem: Wifi won't turn on
ROMs tried: Orignal Kindle ROM, CM 9 (hashcode make), CM 9 (Energy mod ICS)
Other notes: My methods worked on my other KFs, but not this one.... however its an older version. I was sure to make everything factory default, wipes the two caches, and out of frustration from TeamWin deleted everything on the flash and system (except TeamWin Obviously). I have the Android SDK setup to interface with the device, so if you need me to hit it from there let me know. Everything else works, but a wifi only tablet without wifi is useless in my book.
Thanks once again for any help I will go back to google fu'n and head to wall bashing
Well can you mount your sdcard in twrp? If so transfer this to your sdcard http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439916 wipe everything except your external storage and flash it. Maybe this will help isolate whether this is a hardware issue.
hmm

Thanks for the quick reply, will give this one a shot and hopefully it works
Edit/update:
I can mount the device in TWRP, however it will not mount when I boot the ROM. Also adb is apparently not running on the device? Did these commands:
adb kill-server
adb device
and device not listed.

update: got a terminal emulator on the device while I waited for the download (I already had the apk). One thing peculiar is it cant find wlan0... which I can on my other one. Also usb is still a no go unless from TeamWin. Still waiting on the ROM.

ROM flashed to device, kept having Google android process fail and restart causing major pains... so I couldnt even check the wifi. Using the Kindle Fire Utility I reflashed Gapps and rebooted, it locked up, so I wiped the caches and whatnots and put the ROM in Factory reset mode from TWRP. It looks like for sure the wifi NIC is fried... going to have to just send it back and have them send me another one... one final thing is I am downloading the latest factory ROM for this device and flashing it with it to see if that works, and if not then the people I am sending back to wont know the wiser lol. Thanks for giving ideas nonetheless yall!

Did the factory ROM flash correct the issue or still a no-go for WiFi?
Hey guyz.. i solve the issue!..
if your system version is lower the the the latest version:
just download the update img in amazon kindle. using PC. then copy to kinlde directory..and after updating the wifi works..
if latest version:
downgrade the kindle using KFHD_SRT_v1.2.3.zip and a fastboot cable.
then apply the above process.

the rom file you downloaded might be corrupted, so might need to redownload it
and you mentioned that odin didn't recognize your phone.. so did you install samsung driver? and tried different usb port? (note: usb3.0 won't work)
I always had problems with my Galaxy S3 when I had a MacBook Pro, using Windows from Bootcamp helped alot so I would suggest trying that.

I much as I hate to say it but he is right. Android and Mac always seem to have random issues.
You most likely have a bad download. Could be many things that caused it. Wifi or cell data? Losing connection for even a sec can corrupt the download. Check the md5 sum to double check. Also double check antivirus as some like messing with stuff for no good bloody reason lol. Take you time and do the research. You will be back up and running soon.

Can you get back into recovery? If so then re download the ROM of your choice to an SD card. Install it from external storage after fully wiping (cache, dalvik, factory reset) I believe it is either volume up +home+ power. If not try volume down+home+power. Should set you straight

[Q] Serious help fast!

ok so heres what happened. forgot my phone was rooted. i tried tmobile ota update. kicked me out into twrp. i messed aroun and bascily now i have no os or anything. i accidentally formatted everything in the phone. its the white 32gb tmobile version if that matters. to make things worse, i use ubuntu 14.04 LTS. no windows. cant even figure out how to get windows on the pc. and no i cant go buy it. noodle budget. i also messed with the fat32 thing and it said unable to make fat32 partition. basicly. its screwed. i need to know what to do about this. i have the lg flash tool, the original .dll and .tot ready to go. but theres the linux thing. everytime i try to connect it to the computer in download mode it said could not mount adroid device or something like that, now it wont even come on for me. i dont know what to do about this. no i couldnt get adb sideload to start, i couldnt mount in download mode, i could get adb to recognise the device but thats about it. i pushed a couple roms to it but nadda. after installing succesfully it just went right back to twrp. i need a video or something that i can slightly understand on how to fix this.
Your best bet is to set up a virtual box and virtualize it. I guess in twrp if you can still get access to it. Is to wipe system and all that fun stuff so it can reformat it to ext4 then try to adb sideload the rom that matches the update as close as possible. The only thing I can think of is that the update messed up partitions so when you flash a rom it can't all fit like it used too.
Sorry if I didnt help I'm just trying my method I had to do when I had my g2

You must have Windows Virtual Box if running Linux, Ubuntu, Solaris, or Mac. Start HERE. It can be tricky for some, you may want to read this whole page before attempting.

Getting "unspecified error" when trying to copy from internal storage to PC

Hi, I recently had issues in rooting the phone but I flashed stock rom/bootloader/recovery and everything was working fine. However, I tried Installing TWRP to make a backup, however, whenever I try to copy from Internal Storage, it returns "Error copying file or folder-- Unspecified Error". From SD to PC works great, USB cable and PC tested with another phone and copying was good. I already tried flashing stock recovery/wiping cache again but still the same error comes up.
I know that wireless transfer is available but transferring large files through cable is definitely faster.
Is it possible that this may be caused by bad firmware? I'm thinking that might be it but unlikely since I downloaded the firmware from ASUS' website.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Make sure to have stock recovery installed first :good: if having probs try modder tool and return to stock option in modder , flash boot.img and recovery in that option
reboot to system
Factory reset in settings.
