I'm new at this, and I'll show it. I got my warp rooted and I'd like to play around with this stuff. ;I want to flash my first rom. Is there anything out there that will show me step by step so I don't kill this phone too?

If you can get into download mode it is not bricked. You should go to the dev section and find"how to restore a semi bricked epic"and read that...you will also want to use a non stock cable and maybe download and install the drivers again. These are common problems.

I chopped up a cable and made a series of 100k resistors to equal 300...and when i jump pin 4 & 5 it goes to factory mode...that's about all the response i get though...and Ty i will look into the development forum

Say, I'm not sure what you are trying to do with the resistors, but I did check into what you have posted.
You started this thread in the Galaxy S2 (I9100) forum:

There is a picture of your phone there & you are still in the wrong section.
You have an Epic Touch (D710). If you flash anyhting from here that phone is history!!!!!
Take a look at this forum for the help you need: Samsung Epic 4G Touch
Please do not flash anything from the Epic 4G forum......
I feel stupid
I am attempting to root my Galaxy S2/ or Epic 4G Touch but looking around there is not a clear way to root it and noticed with this phone its easier to brick this phone. If anyone could leave a link to a good video or a how-to to be able to root my phone would be appreciated.
First - a two year old account, you should know questions go in [email protected]
Second - go here

My advice is to keep looking here and in the Q&A section. The answers you seek are all around the forum and the first step on the path to enlightenment is reading.

This is the video i used. Make sure you are on the latest ics build if you are using his links though. I am use to rooting HTC phones. It is much different than this. The root was a piece of cake it was the recovery that i was confused on. and still am. I used a recovery but i would like to install clockwork if i can. Just haven't tried to find it yet. Always read over the stickies though before u do anything.

Flash ROMs without rooting? Cmon man read the damn forums before you make a new thread. Jeez. I thought new users were required to watch the I'm a noob at XDA Developers video.

LOL, okay for one don't get pissy around here, especially to someone that has far more experience with the site than you do.. That's very frowned upon at xda. Yes you are a noob, and in the video it said do not click the new thread button unless what you are asking cannot be found in a thread that already exists, and if the thread doesn't directly answer your question, don't make a new thread. Ask the damn question in a thread that already exists or pm a member that looks like they know what they are doing. But do NOT make a new thread unless it is absolutely necessary. You have no idea how many threads like this are being made that do not need to be made. We are getting sick of them. All it takes is a few minutes of looking around. Hell whenever you named this thread when you first created it the search system showed you similar threads that have already been made.
Use the search system.
Look around.
Don't click the new thread button unless you are 100% sure that there are no threads that answer your question.
EDIT : Also, DO NOT make stupid threads, like how do I use XXX's toolkit or something like that. The xda community will not spoon feed noobs. You guys have to learn like we did. Trial and error. Trust me. Once you learn how to use things without having to ask questions you will feel better.

Hello XDA.
I Just wanted to start this thread for 4.3 info. I have looked online but info is vague. So maybe the community here can drop solid links or info for the big update. I did find an article that says the Note 2 and S3 are skipping 4.2. But no real time line. So does anyone else here know anything more? Sad this is a great phone...still sort of new...but has yet to get a real update.
Also. Search function on phone app kinda stinks. I did search for this topic first. Got every topic that even mentions 4.3 or t mobile note 2. Sorry if it is already posted here.
When a New XDA app update is made...here is an idea...a detailed search function.

help the dev. out :good:
only if you had used search
There is a "free" app if you looked in the description on GP, but I figured I'd show my appreciation and buy it.
