Not sure if this is related to the kernel or the ROM I'm using (noob here), so any advice would be appreciated.
I'm currently running CM7.2 with a 2.6.32.9-FXP kernel on my MK16a. I noticed the phone wasn't picking up 3G networks, so I rechecked the phone settings. The "Model Number" says MK16i, which of course uses different UTMS bands than the 16a.
Do I need to flash a different kernel in order to get the 3G to come up? Thanks!

Title = Question.
The closest I got was the MIUI ROM that's up on the front page of the development forum right now. It was so close to working. It said "No SIM Card" but the calls worked!! And the -36 baseband was recognized! The only problem was that with that status message, the phone would not allow me to save any APN settings, therefore I could not get data access.
I also tried it with the -42 baseband. These should be the newest AT&T specific basebands available that are AT&T specific.
The real problem is, I can install 62 just fine, but it only supports the slower HSPA data speeds as these are for the R800i.
I don't really expect a solution but I thought I'd ask

Thanks! Do you use a specific CM9 build?
Also, which baseband do you use?
Do you have the call volume problems that many CM9 builds have? What about your proximity sensor?

I run FXP127 which I beleive was released fairly recently, Video does not work... ALTHOUGH if after installation you flash the Mjolnir4 Kernel and the modules (wont get wifi if you dont install the modules) the video works fine... the only problems I am having is the proximity sensor (just realized that today) as long as you dont leave the number pad up and close it when you dont need it, it doesnt bother me much. I am however going to research a fix for it this weekend.
baseband -62 It runs at the same speed as with at&t's newest BB I flashed back and forth from stock to CM9 ran speed test results are identical

Thanks again. The proximity sensor is one of those really tricky things. I don't mind Bluetooth audio not working, and other minor things like that. Video does have to work for me.
Actually I never had a problem with a non-working proximity sensor, except for Skype handling it very poorly. So I basically need it to work.
I have gotten all ICS roms that I've tried working on my AT&T play 4G(lol 4g). On some I may manually set the APN. I've tried KA11-14 Rom, Xdarkmario's Rom in .42 & .62 Firmware with Doomkernel ICS beta v.3, & CM9(can't remember which build) with CM's Kernel & recommended FW. I haven't tested for differences in speeds(data), but I got the H signal on all.
Edit** In NY area I hear that the. 42 FW with -56 baseband gets better call reception & less drops then newer .62 fw.

It was mentioned on the Miui for Ion thread that using a non LTE baseband allows the 3g/2g toggle to work.
Prior to testing this, I flashed the new 6.1.E.3.7 kernel to try the xzxperience rom. My 3.2.8 miui was running with this kernel before I flashed zxz, even though miui is meant for the 6.1.E.2.68 kernel. Either way, one of the roms was running with a non suggested kernel.
After testing zxz, i went back to miui to test basebands to make the 3g/2g toggle work. Problem being that when i flash the non lte baseband, then check "about phone" in settings, it doesn't change. I will sacrifice lte to toggle from 3g(4g?)to 2g for Battery life. Any help?

My G3 is D857 and I bought it from China. I can't find 4G LTE signal in the US. The carrier is T-mobile. I've tried both settings in the *#*#4636#*#* and 3845#*857#. Neither did work. I also tried to search the lte config.apk in the Root Explorer, but I couldn't find it. The device has been rooted. The software info is as follows:
Android 4.4.2
Baseband: MPSS.DI.3.0.c6.2-00008-M8974AAAAANAZM-1
Software version: D85710c-CUO-CN
Can anyone fix this problem? I'd appreciate it very much.
Hi there.
Are you on KK or Lollipop?
From the Modem number I suspect that you have a KK Modem/Baseband. [when I was on KK I had a 00008 modem. v20h is 00048]
If you are already on Lollipop, you ought to flash the v20h Modem which is the adequate one.
You can use Search on the Forum and get v20h.
You should then notice changes.
Thx a lot for your reply.
It's KK now.
Do u mean that the KK does not support 4G LTE on my phone?

No it probably means the phone doesnt support the frequency that T-Mobile runs its 4G network on. T-Mobile's 4G network runs on 1700 mhz and 2100mhz while the phone only supports networks running on 800/1800 and 2600 mhz
and please do not listen to the person, V20H is only for D855 variant. Please do not think flashing random things from other varians onto your phone will work.
It will result in brick and youll wont be able to do anything about it since US LG Service Centers dont repair international variants
Hello,
I have a Note 4 N910T that I´ve been using in Mexico with Telcel. The officially supported model here is the N910C. Anyway, I´ve been getting constant disconnections while being indoors. What´s weird is that the bars and the 4g icon always stay on, however if I try to make a call it fails. Also if I try to browse anything. After a while it will work again. If I go outside everything works.
I´m wondering if this could be a modem issue? Are there any other modems that I can flash to see if the signal improves?
Here are my specs:
N910T unlocked
Android version 5.1.1
Baseband: N910TUVU2DOK2
Currently on the N5 Express 3.4D Rom
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Please help i am tried sim unlock on original firmware and just working GSM LTE or 3G not working.
I am installed Cloudy g2 3.3 3G working LTE not working. I tried hidden menu, change network mode, Radio Switch... none of them work.
Tried many different Custom Rom. 3G working but LTE not working.
Please help.
Thanks.
The sprint ls980 doesn't have the bands for gsm lte. Hpsda+ is the best you are going to get.
