[Q] S4 Camera functions

So, it looks like GS4 has some nifty camera features built in. Do you think those features will eventually trickle down to our Note2 via official update or only through custom rom hacks?
Nop, the Note 2 will still stay strong & will easily compete with the rest

it will come at some stage but definitely not soonish. (just look how long it took for the original note to receive the "nature ux") I think we'll see a lot of those features being ported to galaxy s3 and a part of those which were ported to s3 will eventually get through to us and our note 2.
so if you have lots of patience you might get it via an official update (but samsung would stop people buying s4 when you easily could get it on the note 2 or s3)
I'd rather put my hopes on custom roms

that wasn't a real answer

I hope most of the software will come with the official 4.2.2. Update, i am not planning on switching my Note 2 for the S4.

Forget the camera stuff -- just give me the gesture navigation on my Note2 so I can read Flipboard and eat Cheetos at the same time without having to pause every few minutes to wipe off the screen.

Haha, I would love that, as well!
the dual camera feature was something i had in my mind for almost a year but since im not a developer i couldnt make it come to life but samsung did it!!
What ya mean there's nothing wow on the GS4. Wowed me. Specs swim circles around the Note.
Samsung brought the SIII features to the original Note. Than brought the Note II's features to the SIII and original Note.
It's clear that the Note II and SIII will receive every software related features of the S4. Probably around June-July.

Will we ever see a port? S 4

Does anybody think we will ever see a Galaxy S 4 ROM port? Based off the T-Mobile Galaxy S 4? Just wondering.
I didn't bother upgrading due to a lil change! Would you be sporting the ROM if its ported?
You should know what the likeliness of that is... And if its stable I'm sure lots would.

I seriously doubt it, so far the devs could not even port a S3 i9300 rom for our phones.
But I am sure the devs are working real hard on porting all the S4's new apps which
are missing from the S3 as well as the S4 camera.
There already are a few apps which came from the S4 which seem to work fine in our S3.
I would really like to see the S4 ported, but I would only use it if it had Wifi Calling.
The main reason why I am not using any ported roms is due to the lack of wifi calling plus all the other bugs ported roms seem to have.
I think there will be s4 ports for the S3, will they be perfect? Maybe in time.
I might try it out for a little while, but most likely stick with aospa. I couldn't stand not having PA hybrid settings as well as theme chooser.

Considering we have the Galaxy S3 slated for a Key Lime Pie 5.0.release we will have tons of ports of Galaxy S4. By the start of summer (June) I'm sure we will see more about it everywhere.

I just hope that the Lime Pie 5.0 is nothing like the current lmt pie.
The current pie should have come in two flavors, one for the DEVS and the other for average users. LOL
Here's the thing... The international S3 had completely different hardware. Qualcomm has been historically easier to port over because they use common code.
So I fully believe that in the next month or two, we will see S4 ports. On the other side though, quad core versus dual core. You're not going to have an S4

I doubt it will be any time soon. Multiwindow hasn't even been added besides the Synergy Rom.
And now that the S4 is out the devs will be focusing more on that because from what I've seen most devs from here got a S4.

And two other roms and there's almost a flashable zip ready. It's all possible, it's possible to have sense working on our phone too, but a lot work. It depends on how many awesome devs stick around, and if they're willing to take the time.
I'm not sure what's the big deal though. Most of the same gimmicky type features from the s3 are available in the from the play store, I'm guessing some from s4 will be too.
T-Mobile SGS III
I think that it is likely we will eventually get some ports of features from the Galaxy S4. Samsung also said that they would be bringing the new features of the S4 to the S3 and other "flagship" devices in the future, so it will just be a matter of time.
But personally, I do not care because I do not care for TouchWiz. CyanogenMod trumps anything Samsung could have made.
To be honest with you guys im working on a port of s4 right now and multiwindow for stock rom and my sprint ports and att ports and a few other roms for other devices so if you guys give it time ill have it up

Stock Samsung camera with 4.2.2 AOSP

Hello.
Can I use the Samsung Stock camera app with PACMAN ROM ?
I really miss lot of features from it :3
No chance. It's heavily dependant on the rest of the TouchWiz framework.

Bro, learn the hardware and software about a phone and what they are for. Do you know what requires photosphere? A gyroscope. Have you checked if our phone has it? No. Anyway, it doesn't. No multi window as 1) No space on small screen. 2) RAM usage controversies.
Next, never blame the developers. That really pissed me off. Never ever blame devs. They do things for you, make things for you. If you think you're more superior than them, then why don't you make something of a greater value as compared to what they have done.
And lastly, stop comparing S2 with our W. This statement

is not true. So stop making threads and saying they're the same, and why they have better features than us.
