Should i buy the Nexus 4 or.. - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

My galaxy nexus screen got broken. And now it will take me half the price of the phone to fix it. So i was wondering whether i should buy the Nexus 4 or wait for next nexus or buy another phone which are currently in the market.

Might be a few months on the new nexus, probably don't want to wait that long.

Will this phone still be worth getting come November?

I'm due for an upgrade in the near future but unfortunately the Galaxy Nexus has already been around for a while. I don't want to end up with another Dinc situation where I get mine a year late, all the good devs leave and we have little support left.
So do you think (Opinions here people) this phone will still be worth getting when I upgrade or should I go with the next big thing?
A new nexus should be coming out by the end of the year, so my answer would be no.

Depends on the price. This phone is still a nexus and will get the next Android version. The specs for the GN are more than sufficient over the long haul.
Last years nexus has a more up to date version than my current Nexus.

Yeah we will be impatiently awaiting the next nexus. But on the other hand this is a good phone and will serve a lot of people well for a 2 + year life span.
sent with 3g courage. better recognize. 4g courage coming soon. stock up on diapers.
I had my Nexus in hand by November last year so I'd say no do not buy the current one.
The phone is still awesome..... Get it!

If you can afford better then there will be better available by November... in fact there will be better available in a few weeks time when the galaxy s3 comes out.. you won't have to wait until November to find something better than the gnex

Last Nov, the Nexus S was still around $400 on Amazon (still same price even today ). Hardware wise, this GN will be in better shape comes this Nov than the Nexus S was last Nov.
When the new Nexus comes out, it'll be in $650-700 range again (unless Google decides then to also sell the new Nexus at $399), so this current one at $400 is still a great deal.
Come November I would get the new Nexus.
As others have said... we'll see the next Nexus device in November. Galaxy Nexus will be cheap and still good (enough) though.
The phone will be a year old. Wait for a more recent release.
I think Google needs to stick with imagination technologies gpu's. For lots of reasons, including an apple one.

This phone will be fine by November. Plus, if rumors are correct we won't see a Nexus phone this year, but rather the Nexus tablet. Jelly Bean is said to have "game changing tablet optimizations".

I would wait for the next Nexus. The GNexus will still be a good phone but is kind of sad to see your device outdated one month after you bought it.

So? N1 has ICS. Unnoficial, but still. Nexus Prime will most def have future versions of the OS.
You people gotta be rich or something, changing phones like that.

Please don't get it just wait for the next one. I got mine just now cause of sprint just barely got it and is the only android phone that appeals to me right now. But if the next nexus doesn't come out on Verizon then maybe you shouldn't get it but if he does then yes wait for that one

Nexus 4 will potentially be released around Dec./Jan. so Id hold off. By then the GNex will have dwindled down to Tier 2 hardware.

Should I get Galaxy Nexus or wait for the next Nexus smartphone

I have Nexus S and software speaking GNex and NS are almost the same, ignoring the few advantages GNex has because of the hardware.
My sister got Galaxy S3 few days ago and now I want a new phone as well lol. Since I'm gonna dump a $***load of money, and I much more prefer Nexus dev phone rather than TouchWiz or anything manufacturer related, should I wait for the next quad core (and better camera, since that 2 things are bugging me about GNex) or buy this one.
I know how having a Nexus rocks, all the roms, tweaks, ports available for my Nexus S are just awesome, so I can imagine what to expect for this one or the future one!
I'm asking this because you guys have it and know it.
I almost ended up buying Note but stores jacked the price here, so no... currently GNex HSPA+ is around 300€ - 350€ here, unlocked. Thanks!

Well if you can wait til Q4 I'd say wait for the next nexus, especially if you're signing a contract.

Hilarious actually. I upgraded from the nexus s, and other than the bigger screen I really don't notice a while back of a lot of difference with the nexus. Was already running CM9.

Facepalming cuz we get three of these things a day. Should I get a nexus.....

Wait, not worth upgrading without subsidy unless you can find a used one for cheap. If you're on tmobile, change to the cheap plan and you can buy new phones off contract.

People need to stop obsessing over quad cores especially when the newer dual cores are on par with them.
Because I can, and I was bored.
Correction: November through January.
Just get the Nexus. Then get the Nexus tablet when it gets out. :-D It's a great phone, why wait?

I guess that's the cool thing about a Nexus phone, even when the next one comes out, this one will still be relevant.
It's not like the jump from dual core to quad will be as significant IMO as single to dual.
Such as the GNex can and will leave the N1 and Nexus S in the dust in the following years, the next Nexus will take much longer to leave the GNex in the dust.
Clearly under par GPU on nexus ...wait for the next one and hope its better! Then buy it
Note that the price of the new Nexus could be twice as much compared to the current price of Galaxy Nexus.
But if money is not a problem, buy this, then buy the next Nexus when it comes out
Just wait it out. As good as the GN is, it's not that big of a jump from your current phone.

If you're going to drop an assload of money like you're stating... You could buy the Gal Nex and get the next Nexus too .
Its not that your nexus s is completely behind. I'd wait till next nexus.

[Q] Help with new purchase

Coming from Sprint with a Nexus S 4g and have narrowed down my new phone to
A. Galaxy Nexus
B. Nexus 4
C. Galaxy S3
I like the fact that the galaxy nexus is pentaband and i can test it out on tmobile $30 and att&t straight talk but worry that it will get old quick.
Which of these would y'all recommend for switching to prepaid service?
Get the Nexus 4 right now
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Galaxy nexus hands down.
if you wanna get the phone NOW go with the gnex..if you can wait get the nexus 4 when its released
I'd rather you wait for the Nexus 4, if you have no qualms about LG. Otherwise, go with the Galaxy Nexus
Buying a gnex now when a new phone is going to be announced on Monday. Lol.
Wait until Monday. See the price of and the launch date of the lg. See if the price drops on the gnex... Then decide.
I'm sorry but anybody that orders a new gnex right now is mental.

You should wait until Monday to see the specs of the new phone.
I would recommend buying it off contract (if you can afford it) because being free to choose your carrier is great. You can switch at any time if a better deal comes up and you can even take advantage of prepaid wireless. T-Mobile has a good prepaid plan IIRC.

[Q] Cracked screen...

Well I dropped my phone right onto a pebble.... now the screen is busted, should I
A. Get a new galaxy nexus w/ the $150 deductible with sprint
B. Buy a new screen and get it installed for about $110
C. Switch to straight talk and get a Nexus 4
A for me
-3StarsAndaSun
C for me, but I will hold out for a little longer and wait till Q4 for the new nexus to come out.
Beamed from my Maguro.
C. if you can get Nexus 4, why replace your Galaxy Nexus screen? Hahaha.
Or, buy cheap Nokia phone and wait for Motorola X phone.
C, you can get them on Craigslist for $350ish and you'll save a ton each month switching to prepaid.

[Q] Buying GT 9250

Hi Guys ,
Is it worth buying a samsung Nexus GT 9250 now . I love th phone due to certain reasons I could not buy it . I know Nexus 4 is out but buget is low . So should I buy i9250 or choose some other option.
Consider waiting for the Nexus 5 to come out. Then the N4 will be cheaper.

But that could take a long time.. Nothing is confirmed.. My phone still holds up and is very quick.. But the Galaxy Nexus is turning old. I don't think you can play games that will come out in a year.. But for the rest it'll do. It will hold up some time I think..
