I searched around a bit and couldn't find much about rooting the evo? I'm on samsung epic and its a lot different from what I see. I do know that it had gotten the bootloader locked right? Well my sisters phone is on 4.54.651.1 I don't know if I can root it?

you can flash ANY rom made for the htc evo4g no restrictions . Some themes only work with specific roms. If your looking for a good rom that has ALOT of themes and mods check out TommyTomatoes classic rom and then MikG

You flash themes that are made for the exact rom you have installed. For example, flash a MikG theme for a MikG rom. Also make sure that the theme is for rom version you have installed. ROM could be updated and an older theme may not work for that version.

You always do a full wipe when flashing a new Rom everything except sdcard 3x . Tommys version 005 finale 12/26 is awesome

I would go into recovery and wipe the dalvik cache then cache and then factory reset or whatever order you wanna do it in there is also a zip I believe its called caulkins format or something like that there is a link floating around here lol it will wipe everything 3 times for you just to make sure you get it all.. hope this helps you out.

The very first thread in this forum answers ALL of these questions. There is a reason stickies exist.
thought i would share what this guy has done. its a custom touch based installer within the cwm zip. read post 7863. he explains what all he has planned for this new way of flashing roms. its pretty neat. gives you full control over how you flash your rom

It can be done easily for this phone. Its just a matter of which dev wants to take the time to implement it. Jokersax11 has only been working on it for a few days and nearly has it stable. Once stable then he won't have to mess with it ever again with future updates to his rom. Its an amazing idea and I wish other devs throughout xda would use this. And it would be even more awesome if someone would condense all stable roms into one installer. Think about the endless possibilities with this. Having the ability to flash custom tweaks and mods and other countless things all within one installer. Even down to the launcher. You could take several roms and customize them to how u want them before even flashing. No more bloatness some devs add that you don't like

Have you tried boot manager from the play store?
No i havent tried anything yet lol. I like to learn b4 i experiment. But i know nothing about dual booting i just came across something online for it and wanted to try.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
I would check to see if boot manager supports the S3...theres a lite version you can test to see if it works
The way it works is that it installs one to /system and the other on your sd...then it just alternates between the two when you wanna boot into the other
But yeah, i came across this too and couldnt get it to work on my Shift
Hopefully it works on the S3, i havent checked yet though so you can give it a shot by just downloading the app :good:
The post i read said on the s3 u can dual boot 2 similar roms like m.o.a.r and t.p.r. for example. So my question is would i be able to use features from each rom at the same time?

No, it would be like dualbooting on a computer...you're either logged into one or the other, theres no overlap

I was just wondering if anyone has tried flashing any of these two themes on the Galaxy S4 ?
These two themes work very well on the Galaxy S3 and both of these themes create a flashable
zip file so the changes they make can be reversed by flashing the zipfile in cwm or twrp.
If anyone tried any of these two, it would be interesting to find how or if it worked on our Galaxy S4.
Here is the link for the Morpholgy theme: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2093095
The theme for JB MAD can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183099

The JB MAD theme was really nice, it works perfectly on my S3 but when I flashed the S4 with it,
it did not change anything at all even though when it got done flashing it said "successful"......
At least we know that it will not mess the phone up at all when trying it. LOL
