Turning Lte on and off - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Is there any way to turn off Lte on stock att S3? I'm in a bad area where it switches from Lte and faux G constantly. Draining battery fast! Thanks.

Edit: it's been too long since I've been on a stock ROM.

That doesn't help on AT&T based ROMs. That option would be removed

Your situation is exactly why AT&T is effing idiotic for removing the ability to disable LTE.

I'm on custom ROM and below procedure worked on mine (though I'm on LTE 100% of time).
I copied from some thread some time back
-----------
From the phone dialer enter: *#197328640#
Umts -> Debug Screen -> Phone Control -> Network Lock -> RAT_FREE_SUPPORITNG ON <- once you choose this option it will say "Now RAT Free Supporting" - this will allow you to change bands freely (no need to pull the SIM card) until your next reboot.
You can save *#197328640# in your contacts. I wasn't able to call the contact directly but from the dialer you can dial *#1 and it will pop up as a suggestion - you press that and it launches automatically. You can then go to Umts -> Debug Screen -> Phone Control -> Network Control <- this leads you to the screen you'd find in my original method with *#2263#
From here you can freely swap to whichever band you prefer and it will connect without a reboot required!
Note: After disabling RAT restrictions you can hit the menu button and choose back, twice. You'll then be at the menu list that includes "Network Control" aka *#2263# which is a little faster.

No. I tried on several myself just to verify (CM, AOKP, and a couple of others). It does work on AT&T stock ROM for certain though. It is the only thing that really keeps me from moving away completely from stock ROMS and/or other TW variants.

I was reading on another post which talked about the Note 2 and when I come to that menu.. I got this "RAT FREE SUPPORTING on" as option 4 while the other post said it should say.. "[4] NW LOCK NV Data INNITIALLIZ"....
What have I done wrong??
Mine is a AT&T i317 Note 2, but shouldn't this menu be identical for all variance?
Hope you can advise.
Thanks.

Im with Bell and I dont have the "RAT_FREE_SUPPORITNG ON" option. Any alternative ?
Thanks.

Which Apps are not updated to 4.0.3/4.0.4

I have the Samsung Galaxy S2 X and I'm on 4.0.3 and certain apps like Poynt/Palmary Weather and some others cause my wifi to just drop and go to 4G, this never happened when I had my Incredible S?
My palmary works fine. Doesn't mess up the connection
I think i figured it out, when i did some internet searches it says that apartments that are heavy concrete or lots of metal plus phones plugged in too close to wireless modems can cause it so hopefully that's my issue?

Can I force LTE only on

Is there a way to force LTE as the only network my phone connects to? I have the network app that worked in my EVO 4G LTE but it doesn't seem to work on my GS3

I know that setting but is it a way to put the GS3 into LTE only mode and not just LTE/CDMA

My wife is with Verizon and theirs works the same way. She's always like, why won't it just stay in 4g? Different beast than WiMax (not that that wouldn't drop out like a trap door sometimes.)

Yes, you can do this in the hidden Data Programming menu launched from the stock TouchWiz dialer. You will need to know your MSL code:
In the Dialer enter ##DATA#
On the Data Programming screen select Edit
Enter your MSL
Tap OK
Select Others
Select HDR/1X Selection
Select "LTE Only Mode"
Tap OK
There is a major downside to this: You will no longer have voice or text service, only LTE data service (where available).

Ok. Are you using the AT&T version of the SGS3? What settings are you doing manually and they are not sticking? Do you mean it does not change at all, switches automatically after certain amount of time, or resets after reboot or airplane mode? There is not an app that I know of that does this directly. Most are more or less shortcuts to your "mobile networks" in settings and the Test menu found under USSD "*#*#4636#*#*". I have not found one that works the way you mention for myself (regardless of which phone I use) unless it is baked into the ROM.
Copied from some post here n backed up on my drop box. This should work on TW ROMs.

He meant:
Dial: *#197328640#, then select the numbers from the menu in the order: 11864, or 11865, whichever has removing the RAT restriction as its last option.
Then from the dial pad:
Dial *#2263#
Select GSM Band Preference
Select GSM all
You don't need to reboot or remove the Sim card.

Secret menu on Note 4

Do I learned how to get into the secret menu on the Note 4.
Dial *#0011#
It will bring you to a cell service screen.
Then go:
Menu>back
Menu>key input> Q
Menu>key input> 0000
Wait a few seconds and it will take you to a list of a whole bunch of hidden settings and options.
Just an FYI.
***you can mess up things on your phone with these setting so be careful.

1,0 is a disk designator not a enabled / disabled flag.
I did in fact mess my phones connectivity up after using this menu. I unknowingly changed something and it would not connect to my carrier so I couldn't send or receive calls or texts.
I fixed it by going back into the menu and rebuilding the NV in the HW Test section.
...
Any context to those pictures?
Can someone post a pic of hd voice work how the icons look like. I changed the setting but not sure if its working or not. Tia
