This is a new small (literally and practically) project that aims for the smallest rom size possible. The barebone rom can be used for whatever you find it handy for, I don't have any mind blowing idea on how to make it awesome so far, but I think it can become handy in some cases.
I just started this for fun, always wanted to know from the start how small a rom can be and still function. also I wanted to make my own repo manifest, which I also did now (current support is for ariesve and ancora)
Also this ROM is of course not for daily usage, so I don't want people asking me where the CM settings are in this rom
I've made this for the i9001 and i8150 on purpose since you guys may also benefit from this uber small blank rom.
Screenshots:
Home screen:
The idea behind this: Think for example about some sort of 3d recovery lol, or maybe just something to make your device look like some other device like a very advanced gps tracker for example, or a fake bomb detonator, you name it. No real innovative idea's from my side this time :silly:, but I think this can become handy for some people in some cases :good:
Launcher
Other then static app, a launcher (in this case Barebone Launcher)

DEV FAQ
Q: How to make an app the home/launcher app?
A: add the following intent filters to your AndroidManifest.xml file:
<action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" />
<category android:name="android.intent.category.HOME"/>
<category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT" />
Click to collapse
and additionally you can add:
<category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />
Click to collapse
To add a icon in the app drawer as well
btw, couldn't test it since I do not have the i8150, but I used the CM7 kernel from Ancora and I even used the bin files from that cm for the ariesve version as well.
So I think it will run just as it's supposed to, partitions are also the same, so it must work

Yes idd, and it will only get smaller by time. this rom is a great base for making your own operating system
and the battery lasts like a week or so hehe
You are 100% in control what you want to add, for example you could only add the ability to call and sms, but nothing else. making it a senior phone

lol I wanna try made my samsung to a nokia 3310
i'll try in some other days
Maybe this is one of the most epic ROM in XDA. Original ideas.
And this maybe can be useful for a senior, man/woman with disabilities, technophobe (I don't think so for this), and everyone who just want a real simplicity, or just nostalgic.

this ROM seems COOL! but to lazy to try
cute super slim ROM !

This ROM provides the very, very basic features(Yes, you may bored at first. No radio, no apps, and not-a-thing that you can use there). But it is the plus point. You can make it as a basic-feature phone (SMS, Call, and I hope, Space Impact), a Music Player (You may want to buy a new Wonder/S+ to do this, so you have a Wonder/S+ for your usual activity and the other to listen to your music), a digital camera, or as described in OP, fake bomb detonator.

Did you create the artwork? If not, can you name your source? Is it free (as in beer)? Do you know any place to find free elegant/professional looking iconpacks and artwork? I need to theme a custom build and custom launcher I'm making, but I'm not an artist. I wanted to use HTC's but, well, they're HTC's.

Any tutorial or can you simply tell which files in SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk you have changed so I can keep my theme and have this mod?

I'm not expert but I had played around with the multitask when I'm using Nexus S.
I learnt something from the tutorial by evilisto's, the WP7 style/stock browser tab/chrome browser tab multitask
In order to get better preview image, something should be modified in the framework-res.apk
I made my own version too
Actually I'm just too lazy to look into your zip so I ask you the exact files you edited and it saves my time
Anyway, thanks

What I mean is the quality of app preview image, the version you made can be improved, only two values need to be modified in framework-res.apk
The version I made is for Nexus S and I just got my Galaxy Nexus few days ago, may work on it and share when it's done
In my opinion l, to personalize anything in Android, the first priority is to make it more convenient, in this case, the multitask
* Maximize the number of app previews in the screen for fast switching with less chance to slide and search
* Maximize the size of app previews and we can distinguish them with ease
* The above two points oppose to each other so there is balanced point
By following this policy, it's better design a theme to match the best layout instead of modifying the layout to match the theme

OP updated, all worked !
I think barome is one of the best cooks in xda, his works are always the most special
This new project has some really interesting ideas and useful, I love the new music player, contacts, messages and call interface, excellent radio, and power manager.
Beautiful also the idea of applications to scroll from bottom to top and the lock screen style MIUI.
The ROM seems fast and smooth except the web browser (why you can not have the fluidity of the browser stocks samsung?)
In these few minutes of testing is the only bug the sd managers who are unable to open, otherwise all is well
Nice job !
Does it has umeng in it? That thing collects and sends data...
I installed it over (Full WIPE) CM7 N-20-4-2012.......successfully

This OS has been associated with a "privacy issue." LeWa uses Umeng (Umeng.com), which is apparently like Google Analytics (Dolphin browser uses Umeng).

You really are the Flasher! Howwwyeah~~ :good::highfive:
This is an interesting ROM. I've never heard of it, nice find!
First look review
Works well on Find7a. The theme used is system wide and gives quite a nice appearance to the settings menu and other windows. Statusbar and notifications window are heavily modified. Because it is based on Paranoid Android it is nice and fast and retains the same features but it also has some of its own which I will mention below.
InspireOS launcher which is quite nice and fast. InspireOS customizer (app), which adjusts specific elements of the rom, like; Inspire colors, which seems to be a proprietary colour engine similar to the one that PA used to have so you can change colors of system ui and app elements. The InspireOS app seems to give other little options to customize as well, like a new weather option in the notification drawer. You just need to click on the top left hand corner once inside of the InspireOS app and you can make your selection. It also uses its own skin on the Google Search feature which in this rom is now called "Genius" and gives it a bit of a visual makeover.
All in all I think this rom is quite nice and polished and I encourage others to test it out at least.
Downloaded InspireOS Find7 + Gapps , will test and enjoy , hopefully ... :good:
I haven't encountered any issues with this ROM. Fast, pretty and stable.
Can't wait to have my device back. And yeah,
will try this rom for sure. And other roms too. :highfive:

Yes , so far no problems ... :good:
Tested it for a while on my Find7a.
Works quite fine for a beta version and the launcher is very nice.
Besides that, nothing that would make me switch to it as a DD right now.
But, It looks promising, so I'll check out how it's going to evolve in the future releases.
I use it about two days. And here what I've experience.
-When connecting to wi-fi, it will hot-reboot it self.
Sometime it overshoot touch on screen. I mean, when I want to typing a word, it'll out 3-5 same character.
And touch is too sensitive.

Any screenies around? The official website looks very nice and I would like to see how it looks before I flash it. Getting my Oppo 7a in the mail today! Bye Bye note 3
Edit: Never Mind found a video review on it
Running very smooth in my X9070 Find 7.
Lets test the barttery life and report later. Thanks.Good Job.
The first day used almost 12 hours, 37% battery left at home. Very good ! Compare with CM only 20% left.
Sent from my find7 using XDA Free mobile app
Hey guys.I installed this ROM on my x9077 with unified storage but it didn't boot. How long does it take to boot? Right now I'm on the latest nightly from nameless and everything runs fine
