OK so I bought my phone used and i dont know if this is actually called the boot screen but its the screen before that when u first power up it has some dumb nexus boot screen instead of the white Google writing how can I go back to that
Thanks
bump
uhhh what?
mind taking a picture of what you're talking about?
when you power up a gnex you would get this(the initial google boot/splash screen)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
afterwards, if your gnex is jellybean and or stock(you get this bootup animation)
of course the bootup animation can vary depending on what the previous owner flashed on the phone.
unless you happen to be talking about this "screen"; but this is the bootloader which does not pop up unless you are holding down buttons
so... what are you talking about now?
ok so its my splash screen thats been changed i want to have the original one that just says google with the little lock on the bottom

it always says that at the start.
to put it in windows machine terms
that google with the lock is the bios screen while the multi color x is the windows bootanimation (in windows 7 its the microsoft flag)
Mine doesn't say that though it days nexus n looks hella ugly

i dont think that can be changed though... mind taking a picture now?
Logo Me can change it.
You splash has not been changed. That lock icon ic because you bootloader is unlocked and google logo on start is Stock not flashed by annother one. Person that used the phone previous had custom rom on it and forgot to relock bootloader

Just reflash the bootloader or buy "logo me" from the play store.
Reflashing the factory images from Google will fix that right up

What thedudejdog said. The Google logo and lock image are on the bootloader partition. If you want the normal ones back just flash a stock bootloader. Or better yet, buy logome and put whatever you want there.

Are there live wallpapers on the glaxy s because they would be smooth as with tht prosesor and tht screen
Additionally, the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S packs all the updates brought by Android 2.1, like several new widgets and Live wallpapers as seen on the Nexus One – so, no need to envy Nexus One users for the animated homescreens, but keep in mind that this puts a strain on the battery.

Hi, I have the Samsung Galaxy S, my Live Wallpaper previously works on all menus like the Home Screen and Program menu. when I changed the live wall paper, only the Home Screen has it, the program menu is only black..
How can I set the Live Wallpaper on the program menu?
Thanks
Thanks good to know they are there
@DaRkMyk
I dont think they would display on the proggram menu they don't on the nexus either but i dont know for sure otherwise when the phone is rooted im sure its possible to make the menu transparent so that the live wallpaper is visible

my bad... yup.. the live wallpapers only works on the home menus... this is my first Android phone and i thought i did something...
i hope it can work on all menus....
well on my nexus the live wallpapers worked on all the menus.. but i was running cyanogen, but they also worked on all menus when i was running froyo as well. actually i mean on all home screens is that what you mean.. yes they did not work on the launcher/apps list
Thanks but i think he was talking about the app tray and system settings kind of things
are they smooth scrolling from screen to screen???
I suppose they would be i do not yet own one but i have been on one at the vodafone store and they are very smooth and are infact faster than the n1
I was just playing around last night and whipped this up. It's a very simple and clean boot animation and accompanying splash screen. Thought I'd put it up here if anyone's interested.
Rename the zip to just PG32IMG.zip, place in the root of your SD card and flash it in HBoot. Drop the .mtz file in your MIUI/Themes folder on your SD card and it should show up under Customize>Boot Animation in Themes.
I've also included the stock HTC splash screen for anyone who might want to revert. These splash screens are for the Incredible 2 only... I have no idea if they'll work on any other, try at your own risk.
Here's what the boot animation and splash screen look like. The loading bar at the bottom fades in on the boot animation, it's not in the splash screen.

could you post a picture of the splash screen without the bar at the bottom? I'd like to use it as my lockscreen wallpaper as well.

Sure, here it is... It's a zipped PNG because the board software automatically converts the PNG to a jpeg if I upload it directly, and does so with noticeable compression.
I like it a lot. Good work.
Any plans on doing anymore?

Love it, very clean and slick!
Thanks, yea, I was just messing around in Photoshop making button styles and this just came together... very simple, but clean.
I have a ton of ideas for other stuff, just need to find the time... I'll post anything I come up with.

stock rom (icl53f), without root.
i bought the phone 3 days ago and it was ok till the last night :-/ maybe a conflict with some apps?
Sorry for posting in Galaxy Nexus Themes and Apps :/
It probably is an app that's doing it as a stock unrooted phone shouldn't have issues like that.

It may not fix it but at the vet least you should boot into recovery and:
Wipe dalvik
Fix permissions
...and then reboot. If it is still there after that then you know you have bigger problems.

This happens to me on aokp sometimes as well....I'll unlock the phone and I'll get a black screen with just my recent apps button showing and the only way I can do anything is pressing the apps button and going to a recent app and then the rest of my buttons will show up....I'll take a screenshot next time and post it here

Hi there,
My phone is semi-bricked, that is, when I boot, after the Sony Ericsson logo there's nothing except a gray-black screen
(like this one:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

What I've done before:
Flashed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1595058
I was using this rom for about 3 weeks and everything was fine. Two days ago while playing Plok! on Snesoid the phone froze(the gray-black screen popped up). I rebooted(had to take out my battery) and everything was fine. Yesterday while playing "Gravity Defied" the phone froze again. I rebooted again but now I get this gray-black screen right after the SE logo. Recovery doesn't work. I tried to flash the rom from the above link again but it gave nothing. I flashed 4.0.2.A.0.62 from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1589399 and the same problem still occurs.
Is there any way to repair it on my own or do I have to go to a service center?
update: I kept the phone on with this gray-black screen and after about 30 minutes the screen changed to normal Android "desktop". Any idea what's going on?
update2: Maybe that's important -> when the previous 2 freezes occurred I had the PS buttons slide extended. I have played some games in the meantime with the phone slide closed and everything was fine.
Update3: It's definitely not a software problem. If the slide is closed everything is fine. After I extend the slide, the screen stops to refresh(the touch screen works, I can pick up calls etc. when the screen is gray-black). When I close it back it takes some time for the screen to work again. My guess is that's a problem with the ribbon cord but I've no idea what can I do with it...any suggestions?
try flash to original firmware
Its the flex cable. Its what connects your display to the gpu.

Warranty is void when you open the bootloader.

As usual, a better description of your problem would be way more helpful that:
does anybody have seen this.
But I guess you are missing some displaying of icons.
Though I have not that many experiances with geh Google Nexus, I would guess it's an hardware error of the graphic chip. (If it's a stock ROM)
Else there could be a problem with the graphic driver.(of a Custom Rom)
My apologies for the vague question. But thanks for the input. Those 'black boxes' were my widgets and folders. I'm running a completely bone stock GSM phone from the Play Store with the new 4.1.1 OTA update.
Everything seems to be back to normal now that I did a reset. Should I think about doing a warranty service?

Did you try a reboot and did it change anything? Or did you go straight for a reset (=reset to default or reinstalling?)
How long did Android run? (I ask because I know of an Issue of Windows (which might not be true for any Linux/Andoid/Unix system, still.....)
e.g. there was (is (?) a problem once Windows runs out of memory. then it stops displaying Icons correctly. but in such a situation it was also very, very slow but a reboot helped

NO!
looks like a software issue.. there is nothing for warranty to repair..
@dna99 - Wrong choice of word, I performed a soft reset(reboot) not a complete reset. I'm not sure how long android was running for didn't check before I rebooted the phone. I can believe that (running low on memory).
@pdx - Thanks for the advice.
