why stock firmware n' custom rom(base on stock) it too big, more than 1gb huhu
Because it contains recovery and kernel and modem and bootloader as well. It has a cache and a lot of bloat. So you know. It is uncompressed too I think.

I've only just upgraded to my n7100 and I'm a little unsure with flashing a new kernel, I'm running carbon and I'm wanting to flash the n.e.a.k kernel. Am I able to flash it in recovery (twrp) or is it wiser to flash in Odin instead ? I don't fancy bricking my device.

Either way is fine. Just use a tar file for odin and zip file for twrp. As long as you flash the N7100 file not the n7105 you'll be fine.

Sorry if it has been mentioned a million times.. I been out the loop, but from my understanding I can update to 4.3 by flashing a 4.3 Rom through Cwm? I know you have to flash our latest modem before Rom correct? Will I need to flash that AT&T kernel for wifi to work? Just wanted to know if I can just flash all these through the regular recovery and not Odin. Thanks in advance.

Yes, that's what I did. Actually I flashed Rom, then modem, then AT&T kernel. And everything is working. And yes, I did it all through cwm.

I've been reading that the leaked kitkat touch wiz Roms have a new bootloader and you cannot flash back. My question is, do kitkat AOSP Roms have this new bootloader as well? I want to flash an AOSP Rom but don't want to get stuck.

Unsure what they mean by stuck... Flashed latest cm and decided I didn't like it and just restored my latest cwm backup which was to jedi and I have had no issues. Would love an explanation too.

Thanks for the reply, what I mean is I've read flashing a tw kitkat Rom with the new bootloader prevents you from flashing back to a 4.3 Rom (what I meant by stuck). I was wondering if the same would happen if I flashed a kitkat AOSP rom. Seeing as you were able to flash back I guess my question is answered.

Custom ROMs like CM don't flash bootloader changes, so you can go back if you want.
Official TW ROMs flashed via Odin or OTA update typically contain bootloaders.
These are the ones that you want to avoid.

I'm on stock 4.3 rom & recovery + rooted. I want to flash ND3 kitkat rom over Mobile Odin.(to avoid flashing kitkat bootloader)
So ,my question is - Is it necessary to flash custom recovery(like philz) before flashing Stock rom from mobile odin?
Or it is not necessary?
Any Suggestions....

If your on stock 4.3 then flashing a custom recovery will trip knox as you will have a bootloader mk4 or newer (I would guess mk9) so if your attempting to keep knox at 0 then you would have to flash a Stock rom with odin, why don't you want the kk bootloader?

My knox bit is already voided 0×1
My bootloader is ML4.
& I heard somewhere wifi/battery performance degrade due to kitkat bootloader.
If I'm satisfied with 4.3 bootloader then why should go for kitkat bootloader.(offline charging is not deal breaker though ).
Btw,Anyone knows there, is it necessary to flash custom recovery before flashing Stock rom via Mobile Odin?

How about you install a custom recovery and flash dr ketan's pre rooted dedoxed deknoxed ND3 rom ,it's same as stock without bootloader and no mods.As far as flashing any stock rom one doesn't need to have custom recovery that's the whole point of stock rom you can flash it whenever you like irrespective of being rooted or not and can be done via pc odin or mobile odin.(mobile odin doesn't flash the bootloader). You only need custom recovery when you're flashing any ROM as a zip file. (as the case would be in dr ketan's rom or any other custom rom)

Can I flash the 4.3 firmware with out oden? Usb port broken here...cant be fixed anymore due to mother board being damged...so looking to flash through recovery the 4.3 firmware....is there a way to do this?

Sort of. Mobile Odin will flash the firmware, but only certain parts. It can only flash system, kernel, cache, modem and recovery. So basically just a rom and modem. Your base firmware will remain the same.

Nope, or at least touchwiz ROMs won't.. Bootloader needs to be updated, which mobile Odin does not do..
