if it helps... a few posts below this one there is a thread by me.. it is beware of an ebay seller... i posted a good seller in that thread also...

unfortunately no Samsung centre here
i was speaking to a friends at work and he told me that the product reviews.on Amazon are not exclusive for the seller, for example i buy am item off.seller A and its counterfeit, i leave negative review, the negative review will also show for seller B &.C, because the reviews are for item no matter who sold it
so now I'm thinking, the negative reviews are not for the batteries sold by Amazon directly, but maybe for third party Sellers?
I'm in no rush to buy as my original is still going strong, but i snagged 2 official battery chargers for £20, so i thought i would get 2 official batteries aswell,
i only need extra juice on Saturdays when I'm out and about so i can stream 3 football matches and maybe the odd boxing or ufc, i always leave the stream running even if phones in my pocket, so i got instant access
i got unlimited data

HTC Desire from China bought on eBay

Does anyone have any experience buying the HTC Desire from China?
I read that the Nexus One has been cloned. I see no official report that the HTC Desire has also been cloned, but I have noticed a lot of suppliers selling the Desire through Alibaba. I am wondering if these are clones too.
Today I bought an HTC Desire off eBay from China which is supposed to be brand new in the box.
It was rediculously cheap - 50-60% cheaper than the cost of an HTC Desire from a US seller.
Now I am worried it's a clone.
I have protection from eBay PayPal so I should be ok, but I am curious to hear what people think.
Also, does anyone know of a program which will read and tell me the hardware specifications of my HTC? I'm looking for one of those apps like Intel provides to give you the model and serial number of your processor on your PC. I figure this is one way of confirming whether I have a real HTC phone when it arrives.
Any link to the eBay auction?
The "clones" of these high end cellphones in China are pretty fake. They resemble the real ones, but one can easily tell the difference. They definitely don't run android, and run some variation of Linux that is skinned to look like iPhone/WinMo/Android.
Once you have it in hand, it would be very obvious to you whether it is fake, either from the hardware or from the software, so there is no need to use any software to check the hardware specification.
There is no Nexus One/Desire clones that runs real Android or equipped with Snapdragon. Again, if it is a fake, it will be VERY obvious.
Thanks for your reply.
Here is the link.
I will ask the seller to send me pics he took instead of the ones he copied.

$170 US for a Desire!! from a zero feedback seller in China.....id never go near such.
I know.
I am betting on eBay and PayPal buyer protection to save me if needed.

Judging from the fact that the image is just ripped from some blog site and not even an HTC press release shot, combined with the sellers score: 0. So no sales or even any buys to the account...
I would be very surprised if this guy has even seen a Desire in person, forget you receiving one in the mail from this seller
Is it really worth the trouble?
I can tell you with no doubt, its a fake one! Because even in China, you won't get a real 2nd hand desire at that price.

This alone does not convince me.
When I sell items, I am lazy and rip images and descriptions from other listing.
However, add this to the fact that the seller has no scores...so maybe.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm
If it's too good to be true, it definitely is.

Are you serious when you said you bought it? HTC desire for 170 unlocked..really?
Where I live, I can barely get a dumbphone unlocked for that money.
Well, the picture was taken from some blog and the spec were copied from HTC website. That page alone can't tell whether the phone is real or not.
But as I said before, those Chinese clones of high end phones look really fake, and those Chinese sellers are not trying to scam people into believe that they are real. There is a market for cheap look-alike phones in China, and that market is what those "clones" are for.
People, the $170 final price is the result of an AUCTION, not a buy-it-now price. My bet is that this phone is real, but the fact that the seller is from China, together with the fact that he has 0 feedback, making no one wanted to bid on it. I highly doubt that he will ship you the phone, given how low the final price is. He will probably make up an excuse not to ship you the phone (out of stock, wrong listing, blah blah blah), and then refund you (I you had paid already). If he did ship you the phone, you win. If he shipped you a super fake clone, Paypal will get your money back. The only thing you will lose is time.
I took a chance on a simular "deal" for a HD2 and I was sent a small pink noname brand(actually works, my woman loves it) and a FAKE Iphone 3G. Get you paypal refund info ready.

I had the same thoughts.
I will see what I do.
I have not paid yet and can back out if I like by cancelling my transaction before payment.
I emailed the seller and asked for real pictures, why he is selling, what the serial number is, etc. I will see if he answers.
Unfortunately the seller's English is pretty bad so communicating is difficult.
Thanks everyone for your replies.
HTC doesn't sell cellphones in China offically
ebay buyer protection isn't worth ****. I got screwed when buying a PDA a couple years ago. ebay contacted me and told me not to send payment as his account was suspended. Unfortunately, I already had and received a box with a small rock in it which weighed what the PDA should.
I got about $200 back from ebay but I paid the guy $600.
USE YOUR CREDIT CARD AND YOU'LL BE FINE. THAT'S THE ONLY WAY.
Here are my golden rules for ebay, I hope this helps ....
NEVER buy a 'brand new' phone from ebay. You probably wont ever be able to return it, and might not have any kind of warranty.
Never buy anything from a seller with zero feedback. You simply cannot trust them if they do not have any reputation.
Never buy anything from China (unless you are sure about the seller).

Add to this list only buy form China if you think the money is worth the risk
But 170 bucks isnt worth it for me maby for you then take your chances
0 feedback seller from China...
I bought a while ago a Sony headset from China (was dead cheap so gave it a try), the seller had plenty of feedback and I eventually got the headphones. They looked so good, very real. But the sound... was worse than the cheapest pound store ones!! Funny thing is the seller disapperaed from Ebay straight after the paypal payment... no refund for the fakes. I def learned my lesson.
I have seen a lot of this fake seller in china, all of them have 0 feedback or some fake feedbacks. Usually the sell all phones they can in a short period of time, and after that you get nothing and they will delete their ebay account.
I hope this one is not like it
It's one of either two things.
You got scammed and will be sent nothing (Which is what i'm expecting)
Or
You're going to be sent a very very bad nexus one clone.

[Q] is expansys is trustable for buying battery?

on expansys they are selling sg2 original battery fir 24.50 dollars ? are they trustable or they are just selling chinese batteries with samsung logo
Expansys is averry big and global webshop seller - I've bought there 2-3 times with no problems. The delivery times were slightly long (~ 3 weeks)
bought 2 smartphones from them, had to call them tho to make sure they've sent the phones
They're reliable, ordered my phone from them and even got refunded for the discount they did the next day.
Yeah guys but i mean that they said there are selling original batteries for s2 but i really need to know if they really are selling original batteries out there...because i search my whole market no original battery available there

Read what they have written original has to be original or you can complain .
/return the item .
As Expansys had the item on pre order and are pre ordering other model Samsung batteries you are buying Samsung battery from a top class supplier .
jje
Expansys sells retail products, no aftermarket unless specified.
yes they are very reliable , i had made a few large business with them a few times
Yes they are but they are dearer than a lot of other retailers which is why i wouldn't use them again but they are definitely legitimate.

Hi there,
I'm here, just joined the XDA Circuit to try to offer some customer support in here where possible...
Please let me know if I can help here at all. You'll receive what you ordered (as per the product description notes and image included on our site)
We've re written our Terms + Conditions lately to reflect waranties + returns etc. Please feel free to check it out. If you have any questions, do let us know.
We want to help out where we can.

That's all cool & stuff, but let's face it, you guys don't exactly have the cheapest prices around

Samsung Galaxy S3 Original Battery

Hi guys,
I have been looking for the orignal 2100mAh battery for T-Mobile S3
emailed samsung's CS, just got a helpless reply.
I have searched online, ebay and amazon
Many versions.... at least i found 4 codes
EB-L1G6LLAGSTA
EB-L1G6LLU
EB-L1G6LLUCSTD
EB-L1G6LLZBXAR
Sounds the EB-L1G6LLU, is the one for the international versions I9300 and cheaper, I wonder if it fits, while samsung didnt tell.....
There is one seller in ebay (only one), saying this models fit ALL
EB-L1G6LLAGSTA.
Mobilefun has them for $26.

yup, i can see, but wondering the compatible models.
u know, the Galaxy S3, i9300, T-mobile S3, at&t S3 is not identical.
along with:
thecellguru (dot) com/Products/71619
expansys-usacom/info (dot) aspx?i=231984
I've tried to get clarification from Samsung on G+, phone support, chat support, and on twitter. I'm only getting combos of either nothing, incorrect info, and at best a lack of specificity.
i.e. twitter (dot) com/SamsungSupport/status/218696922276433921
I had purchased two batteries from here:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270988004890#ht_2427wt_1018
Seems legit to me in terms of how many items sold and the sellers feedback. I'm using the i747 as opposed to the i9300 but I decided to take the risk and buy it. If you want, you could wait until I get mine to see if they are legit or not. They may come some time next week.
I took the risk because I wouldn't be losing much at all. Only cost me 6 dollars, lol
This is normal battery.. So you can not use nfc functionality. Nfc support battery over 25 $
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
agreed~
And such aftermarket items,
probably got only 50%~60% battery life
(some may marked 3000mAh, high capacity....but in fact 1500mAh sth)
I had tested the so call golden battery (for S2) , with Battery Benchmark...=_=+
um....good luck

I got one from HERE. My friend got it (he lives in EU) and brought it here for me... I know, it could be a long shot...Btw, I ordered directly from Amazon.
Gonna order this Samsung S3 OEM Battery:
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...1341203536&sr=8-2&keywords=samsung+s3+battery
I just ordered this one.
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-EB-L1G6LLAGSTA-Galaxy-Standard-Battery/dp/B0089VO7OM
Choose the one sold directly by Amazon for maximum safety.
yea, Amazon provides quality items.
Regarding the third party item battery
i found this battery should be good, around $30 for 2pcs battery
Amazon ASIN: B008EI26HK
at least battery should be tested with software, resulting same capacity as the OEM one. :good:
Be careful, these battery no nfc too and against for i9300.
I purchased a two battery kit from ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/15083577052...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_1334wt_1398
Both say Samsung, Cell made in Japan, Assembled in China. Both say Near Field Communication. Model # EB-L1G6LLU, both manufactured on May 16, 2012.
I cant test how they will work til next week when my Verizon GS3 is delivered.
Do all S3 variants use the same size (dimensions) battery? I found the international battery (EB-L1G6LLU) but would also like to purchase a spare charger but cant find one for the battery model # EB-L1G6LLU (International model)
Are there any words by Samsung regarding the three versions of the phone?
Especially Lte/Krait to Quadcore Versions?
In Europe you can order the Samsung original with NFC for around 15eur via Amazon sold by samsung

Extended battery for Canadian user?

Hi guys,
I've been looking furiously the last few days for an extended battery that I can have shipped to Canada. I looked at Amazon, but they don't ship to Canada and the Canadian price on Amazon.ca is a bit too much for a Hyperion. Ebay.ca has it as well, but they charge 25$ shipping (more than the product itself ) so I was thinking of the Max Power 4500s. I saw a review on the forums of it, and not many people seem to use it. Is it worth using, without the fear of damaging the phone? If not, is there any other extended battery you guys can recommend, without me having to pay a fortune (student, btw :silly.
Thanks .
Bump, anybody? . I was hoping to order something today.
Try This
Try this: amazon.com/Hyperion-Extended-Compatible-GT-i9300-T-mobile/dp/B008GWIVTQ
I don't have an Amazon account so I couldn't check for sure, but according to the shipping rates and policies it shouldn't be $25 for shipping international. Hopefully this works.

Thanks for the link. That's the same one I'm trying to have shipped to Canada. However, Amazon.com doesn't ship this particular one and the equivalent .ca website has it for the full $34.99, which is weird considering the savings the American site is offering. I was thinking of just going with the Max Power for $10 off of ebay, but not many people seem to use it.
Try Contacting Hyperion
Here's a link to the seller information page: amazon.com/gp/aag/details/ref=aag_m_ss?ie=UTF8&asin=&isAmazonFulfilled=&isCBA=&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&seller=A2J4FIRE2AQPV8#aag_legalInfo
Maybe you can contact them and ask if they can ship it out to Canada for you?

I'm not sure what price you think is reasonable. But I bought the hyperion on amazon.ca. For $35 I will say this.... no fuss, no muss. No duties charges. It shipped really fast. The only disappointment was that there was a small crack in the side of the case from shipping. After contacting Hyperion, they sent a new cover to me. The battery is worth every penny. I couldn't stand the lackluster battery life of the stock battery.
