Which are in your opinion as a Samsung S5660 Gio owner: - the Best Music Player & Music ID Apps, Best Weather App and Best Graphic Games [maybe something 3D ]
For Gio?!
I have for the moment Shazam Encore for music ID but it can't identify classical music [ i'm weird ha ]. Angry Birds Space as game. Used to have Power Amp for music but i'm searching for something better.
For Weather Forecast i havent yet found the best app. Used to have Weather Bug, but it was not so impresive for me. Next i tried a weather app from Galaxy SIII, moded by a XDA member for Gio, but it did not got installed in my ROM for some unknown reason.
What is your take on SoundHound: - good - bad - so and so
Also i use taptalk for forums on Android, but it cant find http://forum.softpedia.com when i put it in the search bar. Comes up with no result. Can you find softpedia with your own forum posting apps?!
All serious replies are welcomed.

I do the same on my other Samsung because it has a better player even if it's not an android  but on Gio because the sound is very low, only with te headset and Dolby 5.1 effect is better.
Soundhound only this week i discovered it. Now i have Need For Speed Shift on the phone, and i am trying to put it on the tablet with 4.0.4 ICS also since this morning. You need to download an aditional 91 MB first time so you can play it after. Got another version on NFS shift "cache" and put it on the tablet but when i want to play, i get the white colour over the cars and enviroment so i cant play it. Dont know why this is happening.
But it keeps telling me that it didnt downloaded anything and to retry.
I tried over the 3G connection and WiFi keeps repeating the same message.
Where can i download this Trackid from sony?!

Here are the two music players some members would like as an alternative to the stock music player.
Google honeycomb android player looks pretty awesome in landscape mode.
Miui player supports lyrics downloading (.lrc support) which displays music in-app.
The miui player is pulled from my x10 mini pro phone, you guys may like to see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1010394 for alternative mods.

Not really, i am really big oon music, have been looking for the honeycomb player for looong time , but i just saw the thread
I'm gonna test it on my Ace, I love honeycomb music player
EDIT: Google music is works fine. Yeah, it's beautiful, but a little bit laggy. MIUI player works too...
Both work fine....no lags for me....thanks for the share..
Wow this is good! Thanks man!
I'll try to d/l this and compare to PlayerPro. Really like the look of this MIUI Music but still doubt the EQ feature on this thing.
Anyone have tried?

Hey consegregate
Thank you for sharing the apps ... I tried the honeycomb music apk works nice.. however could not locate the equilizer on the app... this is something which i like on the stock app... any idea if i can put equilizer to honeycomb app too.. would be great.
Tried MIUI app too... same... could not locate the equilizer on app... ... need this for my music player...
I've been using the Google Music App for a while with the Music Beta service, works really well.
You could download "equalizer" on your phone if you are on gingerbread.
XDA ♥
Will try.
Though currently on ubermusic beta after poweramp and playerpro.
What is your opinion? I have tried Google Play Music, TTPod, PowerAmp, CloudSkipper and that leftover player from Gingerbread that nobody wants
Currently deciding between TTPod and PowerAmp. The former would be the winner if it didn't have so much freaking chinese all over it.
What do you guys use?
Miui Music is my favourite.U should try it
Poweramp FTW

Well I personally like the gingerbread music player over the ICS stock music player, which is what I use (and I hate it), so I'm interested in using a different player and I can't wait to see what comes out of this post in the next few days. I usually just use Pandora when I'm at home simply because almost all the songs that play are songs that I already have on my phone, with the ugly UI for the stock ICS player.
Google Play Music here. It's very fast and smooth for me, even with 29GB of music.
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
Google Play Music here as well. With my music uploaded to Google Music, I don't have anything on my card anymore.
PowerAMP. The equalizer on it is excellent.
I was always under the impression that between the hardware & software of our smartphones, software equalizers are a mediocre solution at best. You can't really polish a piece of **** yanno.. maybe I just use ****ty headphones (I do) and listen to trashy music (I do), but I never had to really fine tune music coming from my phone's headphones.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda premium
Poweramp by far...however, if Google Music adds EQ and more list options like View by Folders, then I'm all in.
If you like the iPhone or iPod touch music player, you might like RealPlayer. It is not as feature rich as other players, but it's still pretty cool. Just try to forget the evil RealPlayer from the 90s.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5yZWFsLlJlYWxQbGF5ZXIiXQ..
I tried a lot of them and I got stuck with PowerAmp like many others here. The paid version is near perfect. If it has to be free I find the stock player not too bad.
Mike
I tried poweramp but I dont like how its constantly running in the background even after you close it. I didnt see a setting to disallow this.
So far Im just using the MIUI player but its a bit barebones as far as features go
Rocket Player is my fav.. has a super EQ!
Apollo if you want the apk PM me
I have tried quite a few music player and settled on Poweramp. I found once tweaked you can get good sound out of it. It is as flashy showing album art as other players. You can customize the sound to your like globally, album or track. You can have separate presets for speakers, headset and blue tooth. To the post above there is a setting not to run in background. There are a lot of settings, once tweaked it has great sound. I ended buying the pro version. My daughter loves it too. Also it will set variables in Tasker.
Everyone has their own taste and needs.

I'm currently using the JellyBean version of Google Music on my phone (he upgraded the google music player from ICS to JB in the rom I use). I like it so far, I mainly don't use other music players typically because I do not store most of my music on the phone itself.

Know what would be nice... a 3rd party player capable of connecting to your Google Play Music cloud
So there are several different music streaming services out there, who in essence have the same music and pricing structure.
What I am asking is which has the best performing app (not service) on Android 4?
My vote is Deezer as I use it daily on my Desire and it is quite good but not perfect.
Rdio looks like a very well developed app, whereas Spotify has several negative reviews.
Opinions?
I love turntable.fm when it works lol.
And I like soundcloud as well.
Normally I use Sony music Unlimited because of the sheer number of albums available unfortunately it isn't available officially for the nexus and the side load crashes.
I've fallen back to Pandora, tune in and rdio

Most of the time I use Google Play Music since I've got over 1k songs already up, and they let you have a max of 20k songs. I can't imagine being able to find 20k songs that I actually like. No syncing across my computer/phone/tablet, just upload the files once into Google Play Music and then stream it anywhere.
The rest of the time I use Pandora.
So is Google Play Music the online store to rival iTunes that is only available in the US? Or is it the Android "Music" app to play local MP3s?
Pandora is interesting but also only in the US...!

Google Play Music lets you store songs you own, in the "Google Cloud", allowing you to play your songs from your phone/tablet/pc. You literally can upload all your mp3s into it - no questions asked.
You can also play music locally with it. And then the Google Play store also has music you can purchase which is added to your collection.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I know Deezer lets you do the same as Play Music. You can upload to the "My MP3s" section of your Deezer account and stream them through the app.
It works quite well, but in Offline Mode obviously only the albums you download are available not any of the My MP3s tracks.
Also one flaw of Deezer is you cannot sync a single track for Offline playback, only full Albums.
My favorites in favorite order:
N7
Google Music
Cubed
Jango
I do own Poweramp, but like N7 better. I find Jango much nicer than Pandora. Cubed is just visually cool. I use Google Music on my PC at work 90% of the day.
edit:: sorry, I missed the "streaming" comment. Therefore GM and Jango only.
For playing music, the answer is simple - Neutron. It is amazing. What's even better is that you can get a special version for Tegra devices. Here's a link:

You want the NeutronMP_64.apk. If you are an audiophile like me, then you will be in heaven. Grab a good pair of headphones (NuForce is an amazing brand that not many people know about) and enjoy!!

i think the only way to upload is to install the music manager on your pc. you'll then select the folders you want it to upload.
NeutonMP is awesome for its sound quality , but I hate its interface. I love n7 player interface but their sound quality isnt as awesome as neutonMP.
I'd bought both Poweramp and N7 and switch between them. Using Poweramp more and more. Like the album art display much better, more sound adjustments (not that it matters much on a Nexus 7). N7 starting losing album art (or not finding it), so it's not getting used much.

Hello guys,as per title i'm experiencing music stuttering even on JB(given that it might be the leak's fault as it isn't complete yet)the same as ICS(meaning stuttering with FB browsing twitter ecc ecc) but the multitasking is improved beyong possible and anything is perfect,i really don't know what to think.
I didn't posted this in the leak thread because it's so crowded my post wouldn't even be read.
thank for the help(if there's any)
cheers
Dave
Walkman is really heavy. When I was light running the leak (read it: only a few essential apps installed) no stutters at all (and I mean it: not a single stutter), maybe the music stopped playing due low RAM but that was it. With Walkman and PowerAMP, sutter is almost gone.
"almost gone">that's what i don't get. My friend's xperia sola doesn't have this kind of problems neither my 2010 desire hd do.
On top of that the free ram now is like doubled on jb so i don't understand how can the music player stutter.
Thanks for the help though i'm trying to use Gplay music let's see if anything change.

yes i get what "almost gone" mean,i just don't get how a dual core 1(not quite)gb of ram device has stuttering problem and a 2 years old phone(desire HD)doesn't.
Neutron Music Player
I'm using Neutron Music Player on my XPERIA LT26i with Leaked JB 4.1.2 and I have no problems that I can hear.
Even when the screen is off the player is fine and doesn't lose focus.
Don't even need a SetCPU profile to maintain priority as Neutron Music Play must(haven't really checked) lock in a 'required' CPU frequency to support continued and smooth playback, thus overriding lower screen-off CPU frequencies.
Google Play downloaded music plays at 64bit(indicated???) and 320KB/sec and I don't remember hearing anything odd,
Most of my wav and flac music (16 -24bit) streamed off my NAS sounds fine.
I stream 720p TV and videos(mkv H264,AC3) using BSPlayer from my NAS and they play without any lag or 'stutters' and with videos, you'd hear/see anything odd pretty quickly.
AND all this is with the default leaked JB CPU governors(ondemand) and scheduler(cfq).
Think what we could have when DoomLord and others go wild with bespoke Kernels.
I have approx 240 - 300MB of memory available
I've removed about 70 system apps/bloatware.
Calendar, Mail, WhatsApp are the only network background service processes I have running.
I'd probably delete the supplied Sony Music player on released JB version if that doesn't present any problems as I never use it.
The XPERIA S with Leaked JB seems, in general, to be very responsive with no lag, that I've noticed.
I have an XPERIA X10i v2.3 and even over-clocked it still has issues with lag. BUT, again with Neutron Music Player and a 64GB microSD card music is fine on an XPERIA X10i,
So, with music, I'd suggest, the limitation of a given Android device could be compensated with a good Music application.
I note on leaked XPERIA S JB 4.1 that the music player currently being used has focus on the lock screen and that could be Neutron Music Player or XiiaLive Internet Radio player. Very handy for quick music control of the active player directly from the lock screen.
Currently listening to music while 16 app are open (fb tweet 2 browser ecc)with neutron music player and everything looks fine for now. I want to try using walkman app to see if it's the same.
Tried gplay music and NMP with the same opened app and no stutters with nmp i'll try it for a few days thanks for the help for now

Even super low end Samsung Galaxy Y that my friend use doesn't have shuttering problem in music player. .ZZZZzzzzz
I think something is wrong with NXT series apps..
My friends Arc don't have this problem in Stock ICS but when he rooted n flashed NXT series apps like Walkman n all, music shuttering started just like my XS.. We can blame the Walkman app in my friend's case but every other music app is having shuttering problem (same as XS) since he flashed it... Something is wrong..
Precisely my point! even low end devices don't stutter (not that i know of).
I don't know who(or what) to blame though as i tried flashing cyanogen mod and p.a.c but no luck, stutter was always there no matter what.
Cheers

Hey guys!
I am looking for a rom based on 4.1.2 .
Important thing what rom must have :
- the best able quality for xperia play - i am someone like audiophile
I do not demand high performance (because its jellybean) but will be good when i can play games like deathworm, guerillabob, minecraft and pokemon's at MyBoy emulator without lags.
Also rom shouldn't have too many bugs for normal phone using.
For now i have tryed Play Zcm 4.1.2 but this rom lagging for no reason. I mean the UI sometimes lagging and shortcut sometimes dont works.
What rom should i try for now? Also is there any "audiophile" here? If yes, what music player are you using?
I don't think I am an audiophile, but I like listening to music and my favorite player is Poweramp. It really has tons of options... check it out

did you try cm10?
but why JB? any feature or software that requires it?
btw: using apollo
the hardware restricts the quality here. if the file is not lossless, the headphones can't handle every tone and the phone itself is badly shielded you can't do anything about it. equalizer and software enhancements are not a true enhancement in terms of quality.

Well i think from JB we can do better audio quality like from others version (or im wrong?)
I am using only flac's (losless) audio files and superlux HD668B headphones -- not the best, but sound quality is really cool.
For now i am trying Xperia play Ultimate HD 1.0 and sound quality is just, ahh. AMAZING! Like a the best i had hear! I think for now i will stay at this rom.
Also i tryed the apollo player but sound quality was normal. Not very good, not bad. Just good.
