[Q] GNEX one of the vol pad came off during lcd replacement - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi every one.
I have a problem with gnex, usually I find the solutions here without asking a question but I searched the forum without any luck.
Problem: One of the volume solder pad came off the the motherboard during lcd replacement can't solder it back (pad is off m/b).
I do have a original sam gnex schematic so I can identify some of the stuff in diagram but I am not sure where to solder on m/b.
Any help would be appreciated.
Note: Phone is out of warranty so can't send it back.

quick question

does any body know what the part on the main board is called i need to have it replaced but its on the motherboard of the phone its the part that connects the sdcard ribbon cable to the main board and it has the little whit lach gate on it to secure the pins, if any body knows pleas let me know kus the gate fell off of mine when i dropped it and i need to sodder on a whole new peice n no i dont have insurnce on the phone so sending it is is out the door..lol
i take it just taping it on wont help, never seen this for sale anywhere and soldering to these small boads is very difficult, ive had bad luck soldering @ this scale. i suggest buying a new motherboard or a broken phone with a good motherboard and swapping. unless you are a wiz at soldering and you are able to even find what you need this will be the cheapest fix

[Q] Dead volume buttons

Hey everyone,
So today, I was changing the housing for my GNex and I forgot to remove the SIM card (I know, silly me.) By removeing the housing with the SIM card stuck there, I ended up severing the connectors for the volume buttons beyond repair.
The connectors are soldered to the main board, and it doesn't look very replaceable, so I'm wondering if its possible to order replacements for the broken part? And is the repair very difficult so I'm better off taking it to a repair shop?
Thanks for any information.
So I figured that the broken part is called a volume flex cable. Can't seem to find any info on installation though...

You can find the part here:
http://www.dealrepairs.com/samsung-galaxy-nexus-i9250-volume-flex-cable_p2335.html
And see that it's soldered with tiny 3 points here:

I believe the repair is possible with a steady hand and a good solder iron.

Has anyone tried to replace a sim card socket?

The board or plastic piece in my sim card socket broke with one of the pins. Samsung declared it BER (beyond economical replacement) has anyone had this or had to replace the sim card holder? If so, were you successful?
Thanks in advance.

I have been inside Gnex many times. I don't recall off my head how that specific piece attaches to board but...I would imagine it's do-able? On my GSM Gnex(first time I took it apart ---- GSM and LTE have differences) I tore the volume rocker button cable...LONG story short I had a local cell phone dr place solder a new volume cable on. I provided the part...The solder points were like tip of a needle sized, and somehow they did it.
TLDR; I am sure their is a way if your willing to do it. I had a place to order Sammy genuine OEM parts from relatively decently priced somewhere...
Good Luck!
EDIT: All that being said with fact that Sammy didn't see something wrong your naked eye does NOT?
Edit EDIT: Place I ordered parts from(http://cellphone-repair-shop.com) doesn't even show SIM card socket...(I had to replace the Charge port board on my LTE Gnex...So much cheaper/easier than warranty/waiting etc)
I may be stuck selling it for parts. I can't find anyone who can replace it for a reasonable amount. Darn it. I guess I will do without my nexus and see what's google brings at the end of the month for the next nexus. Hopefully there will be one besides the LG model!

I actually had one of my SIM pin connectors broken just two weeks ago. Damn SIM adapter got caught with it and it just folded up and broke. Luckily I had the luck to recover the broken part and had it soldered back at a Samsung Service Center. Cost me around $4.00 though, but definitely a steal compared to having to replace the board.
i can fix them .... i have done quite a few for nexus and note owners on xda without a complaint.... havent vioded a warranty!! which means i promise you its as clean as the factory soldering job... message me if you need one fixed... thanks!

[Q] L700 question [SOLVED!!]

This may or may not have been covered before, but has anyone had the L700 apart and noticed if the volume flex cable is a solder or a clip connection?
I am asking because i bought a second hand GN and the volume down doesn't work. I have read about the Android 4.0 volume issue but read that they did fix that. So i came to a uneducated conclusion that the volume piece itself might be messed up. I am also swapping the screen out due to burn in.
Re: [Q] L700 question
I recently replaced the screen on my sprint galaxy nexus and if i remember correctly it isn't soldered and was pretty easy to do, hope this helps....

[Q] HTC Desire(Bravo) not powering on after mobo replaced

After replacing ribbon flex motherboard my phone fails to switch on. I noticed replacement does not have metallic ground tape wrapped around the upper section of the flex cable. Do you think this is the problem or is it something more hidden? This is uncharted territory for me as I've been unable to find any instructions on how to replace a damaged flex ribbon motherboard. Can any one suggest a way forward?
There was video here hosted on YouTube. Look for it. Desire tear down was shown in it.
