Can one x use Samsung 11pin mhl adapter? - HTC One X

I have a galaxy s 3 so I have to use the 11 pin Samsung mhl adapter. My wife has a one x, and I'd like to only have one adapter. Can the one x use the 11 pin Samsung adapter or will that cause issues?

Easiest way to find out is to just give it a try.

Well, I don't have it yet, but wanted to find out before I searched for another solution. Figured someone here has access to both phones and an adapter and has tried.

Am I the only one with both these phones wanting to use this? I have it ordered from Samsung and waiting on it to ship, but it'd be nice to know. I'm going to use this with appradio 2 and arliberator so it's not going to be exactly easy to swap out mhl adapters if it can't be used with the one x.

I've used my Asus transformer charger on my phone and that's 1.2 amp @ 15v with no issues.

I don't think that's the same. I'm referring to this:

All that work 100% with one x?

In theory it should work....

I am curious about this as well... I have a GN2 and an HTC One coming in the mail this Friday. I'd rather not have to swap them out on my AppRadio2 if I can avoid it.

As long as it has a micro usb male and female and a hdmi port it should work. You need to have it connected to the charger because hdmi uses to much power.
Let us know if it works.

Is the MHL cable required for USB OTG?

All that I'm interested in is accessing external storage. Would this work?

From what i understand you need to get that Micro-A version not the B version. I THINK
No it does not work.

Won't work either way.
That and most cable will work with Galaxy S2 but it won't work with Epic 4G Touch Galaxy S2. Although they are close they are not the same phone.
USB OTG is disabled on the Sprint version of the SGSII. MHL is only to split the USB data from the HDMI stream.
Do you guys know when it'll be enabled? I asked in a development thread for ICS to see if it could be added in the new kernel they are developing for it and got flamed by Jerdog.
I would love to have this as I use it a lot on my Xoom.

It is a really nice feature I use on the zoom as well. It would be nice to get it enabled.
Can anyone verify if the MHL cable works out of the car dock?

That certainly is a bummer. I assume car dock would be the same then. Thanks for answering!

I'm guessing it would work. I used samsungs 11 to 5 pin adapter and my current mhl cable.
EDIT: audio doesn't seem to be working for me but it might just be my mhl cable.

MHL Adapter

Hey guys.
Just a quick one. I have an official Samsung MHL Adapter and I have tried it on my note 2 and it's a no go. Now, I'm stupid but not that stupid. It's one I bought when I had my Galaxy Nexus and it works on that.
So, I think it's one for one and another for another. I thought there was only one adapter.
Would anyone know anything in regards to this? Just want some other opinions etc. Seems to be only one available but I could be wrong.
Thanks heaps on advance guys.

There's two mhl adaptors, the one you have is for the galaxy s2 but there's also one for the s3 (& note 2). You can also buy an adaptor tip so you can use the old cable with your note 2.
Don't know if anyone knows if there's going to be a third one for the s4!?!
Hope this helps.

Will this work with ANY tv?

So, i want to buy the official mhl to hdmi adapter for galaxy s4 which has a product number : ET-H10FAUWEGWW
Will this work with the galaxy s3 that i want to buy? If yes will it work with any tv?(assuming of course it has hdmi port)
It has to be a MHL enabled TV. At least that's what I've read. I actually bought one of those cables and tested it on my HDTV and it wouldn't show anything at all. I tested on both my Sprint Galaxy S3 and my Nexus 7 FHD.

Could u give me the link where u read it?
The Samsung Galaxy S3 uses MHL
The Google Nexus 7 FHD uses SlimPort
These are two different standards and the cable is not interchangeable.

Unfortunately I'm a new user so I have a few more posts before I can post a link in a reply. But if you go to best buys website and search MHL you will find what I have read. I think I included a screenshot in this reply.
Just because it says it on bestbuys website doesn't make it real. The MHL standard is designed to convert to regular HDMI. Any HDMI TV should work fine with it.
No offense to anyone. But I'm going to take the word of Best Buy's website unless, you have proof besides your say so.

If it says it's for any Samsung Galaxy product it's worth a shot. I don't know anything about MHL really. But the cord I have doesn't work and that's what I'm going off of. And the best buy website. Sorry for any confusion or inconvenience.

The other thing to note is are you running a custom rom. I think the mhl drivers are in the touchwiz frameworks.

There is no such thing as a MHL enabled TV. MHL works on anything HDMI ready. The only thing is if you are running a AOSP based rom, it will not work, right now i only works on TouchWiz.
My MHL adapter works flawlessly on my 2010 Aquos.

Actually, there is such a thing, but it's not that important.
An MHL-compatible TV will supply power (5V/500mA in 1.0, 900mA in 2.0. and 2A in 3.0) to the adapter and charge the phone.
A non-MHL-compatible TV won't do that and you'll have to connect your own charger, but it will work fine otherwise.

So if the tv has an hdmi port and i have a power supply, i should have no problem it seems...
If the only difference is the USB ports are more powerful then I don't see how that has anything to do with MHL.
I have successfully tried my MHL cable on many TVs and I've always used it's own power adapter plugged into the wall.
I have heard there are crappy MHL adapters that do not work though.

Correct. an MHL TV just means you don't need to have a charger on hand, have a free outlet, have a long enough micro USB cable to get to that outlet, etc. etc.
